RP Thread
Discussion Thread

It has been over a year since the destruction of the Star Forge, and the Sith Civil War dawns in the wake of Revan's disappearance. Now as the Empire tears itself apart, the Republic recovers from decades of warfare, and the Hutts maintain their neutrality from their palaces, Wild Space continues to operate on the fringes of galactic society.

Trian. One of the most highly-advanced worlds of Wild Space, it has maintained its independence from the Republic for thousands of years, and held off the Sith Empire unlike its neighbors, including Telos. Now, Trianii Space, serves as one of the few secure zones free from interference from the Empire, the Republic, and the Hutts alike. A hub world for trade in the Tingel Arm - and a common destination for many of the smugglers in the galaxy - it provides an opportunity for enterprising individuals to make their fortunes.

And as an unfortunate band of scoundrels found out, the Trianii Rangers are not a force to take lightly....

It's uncertain who the first arrest was, but their known associates were quickly taken into custody, as were their known associates, and theirs in turn. Someone had taken something very important from the government, and they were going to be made to talk. However, with the assistance of Vania Nartano - a togruta smuggler with a penchant for mischief, an eyepatch, and an eye-shaped thermal detonator - a small band managed to escape. Though she was taken down during the breakout, the others escaped aboard her ship note  and made the jump to hyperspace.

Today, still wanted by the government for alleged smuggling, they need to survive despite having nothing but themselves, the ship, and the equipment the managed to recover. And a computer with details on Vania's current job, the payout of which is significant.

So yes, a Star Wars RP. I'll spare you the long-winded description. Just be a cool person, try to focus on enjoyment and fun and cooperation instead of wanting the best most flawless character, and you'll do fine.

Also, unlike most RPs, I'm not going to accept characters right away. This is because I'm going to wait for you guys to figure out how your characters mesh with each other, and leave you free to change what you need as you work with each other. Once you've all figured that out, I'll accept everyone. In the meantime, though, I'll at least let you know if your characters are acceptable.

There is also a discussion thread here. And this is the old brainstorm/interest check if you feel like perusing that.

  • Name:
  • Sex:
  • Age:
  • Race: I'm okay with most races, aside from ones that are just outright bullshit like a Gen'Dai, too inconvenient to deal with like a Hutt, or too... believed to be extinct, like a rakata or Sith. Aside from that, go nuts. Also please don't be a kid.
  • Class/Title: Just for fun. Like how Han Solo was a "scoundrel", or Boba Fett was a "Bounty Hunter".
  • Role on Ship:
  • Alignment: How Light, Dark, or Neutral they are. Doesn't really affect anything aside from magic wizards being able to say "Oooooh, I sense darkness/light in you".
  • Appearance:
  • Personality:
  • Primary Weapon Type: The weapon type you mainly use. You have what could be considered pretty-good skills with that particular weapon. There's nothing forcing you to only use that weapon, but just keep in mind that you'll have "below average" proficiency with other weapons. Unless it's a lightsaber - then you'll probably cut your arms off. [[lol]]
  • Armor Type: Light/medium/heavy. You'll be starting with relatively cheap armor, so heavy will be very bulky but protective, light will not protect very much but give you maximum mobility, and medium will do a bad job at both.
  • Starting Abilities: Everyone starts with four abilities. These could be Force powers (like Push, Pull, Jump, Saber Throw). They could be weapons you are really good at using. It could be a skill like piloting, slicing, security, treat injury, demolition, repair, armor construction, weapon construction, etc. The more specific a skill, the more talented you are than a more general one (To use a dumb example, think of the difference between tea preparation and drink preparation). Permanent augmentations and droid components like a translator or cardio package would also count as an ability instead of equipment. Also, some races might come with a free ability, like a Miraluka having Force Sense - just tack that on as a fifth ability. You can also use two ability slots on one skill to make an ability "advanced", which makes it much more effective than the basic version.
    • [Ability 1]
    • [Ability 2]
    • [Ability 3]
    • [Ability 4]
  • Equipment: Everything your character has on their person. Should just be the things tied to their weapon/armor and abilities. I just don't want people starting off with super-expensive gold-plated weapons and cortosis armor so that there's room for you to keep buying/stealing cooler weapons, so try not to be too extravagant.
    • [Stuff]
  • Brief History: Try not to make it super complex. If you can maximize readability and develop a backstory that presents opportunities for working with other players, that would be nice.
  • Plot Hooks: Anything relating to your character that I can integrate into the game via NPCs or other means. Such as having a bounty on your head from a hutt warlord who really liked that pet vornskr, a vengeful Sith ex-girlfriend, colonists who are pretty pissed off that they spent their savings on your less-than-legitimate "investment opportunity", a smuggling group that didn't like having you testify against their leader, and other things of that nature.
  • Links in the Chain: The two characters that your character knows. The two people who would be tied to you in a "...knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy..." chain. Work with the other players to come up with associations between you and. You don't have to be best-friends-forevers or something like that, really you just need to be somewhat associated. This is important, as these might wind up being the characters who are least likely to want to throw you out of an airlock. Also, I hope I don't need to say it, but I'll say it anyway: Make sure the other person is okay with whatever connection you come up with and knows about it.[lol] It can also be three, two is just the minimum to avoid having a bunch of dead ends.

TOTALLY your average Jawa! Yes Sir!

  • Name: Fixit
  • Sex: Male
  • Age: 31
  • Race: Jawa
  • Class/Title: Junk Mechanic
  • Role on Ship: Main Engineer
  • Alignment: Neutral
  • Appearance: Fixit appears to be a bog standard Jawa, standing in at one meter tall. But aside from that he does dress differently, or rather he does something very different for a Jawa. He bathes. Unlike most Jawas, Fixit realizes that since he's no longer on Tatooine he can actually bathe and feel clean! He considers this awesome and wonders why he'd ever go back home. So Fixit doesn't stink like most Jawas.
  • Personality: Fixit on some levels seems to be a typical Jawa. He's excitable and easily startled. But he's also a bit unique, being a Jawa traveling the universe. So he's a lot less...well he tries to cheat less, really! He can also speak basic, which is very unusual for a Jawa.
  • Primary Weapon Type: Fixit is no sniper. Honestly he would rather avoid the whole shooting business but he finds himself again and again stuck in situations he has to negotiate out of...violently. So he packs a blaster shotgun, a weapon that relies less on aim than simply filling the air with energy. He's pieced the weapon together from multiple different parts, resulting in the gun equivalent of an 'Ugly' Starfighter. The weapon is boxy and sized for his hands so normal sized beings would find it a tad small to use.
  • Armor Type: Light. Anything heavier would likely result in Fixit simply falling over and being stuck.
  • Starting Abilities:
    • [Ability 1] Improved Repairs – Fixit is the reason the ship keeps flying and he's proud of it.
    • [Ability 2] Advanced Slicing – Fixit is also good at breaking computers so he can get where he wants to.
    • [Ability 3] Stealth – Above all else, Fixit likes being able to stay out of the way when he needs to. His small sizes helps a lot.
  • Equipment: Fixit carries most of his stuff on bandoleers and his pockets in his cloak but he also sometimes packs a backpack if he feels he needs to haul heavier stuff. Fixit always packs slicer tools (except when they might get seized by customs, those are expensive!) and a datapad to use them. Never know when that expensive electronics needs to be bypassed after all! He usually also packs a small waterskin of sorts so he can stay hydrated. Also rations, he likes his food a lot.
  • Brief History: Fixit's 'family' lost their sandcrawler to a freak storm and they scattered, the Jawa in question finding himself in one of the few starports of the desert planet. First chance he got he stowed away on a ship and left. From there he made his way in the galaxy, his skills with machines getting him places on crews that didn't mind sharing room with one of his kind.
  • Plot Hooks: Fixit has...well some colored history. He's run out on his fair share of deals, ones that were going to go bad anyways! So he's always liking to stay on the move, keep away from problems before they develop, that sort of thing! He doesn't have an actual bounty, that would mean being important (Read: not a Jawa), so he's lucky that way. But he has to watch himself where he goes...

  • Name: Kyla Thule
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: 19
  • Race: Human
  • Class/Title: Jedi Sentinel
  • Role on Ship: Comms
  • Alignment: Neutral, leaning towards the Light.
  • Appearance: Somewhat taller-than-average, slender, athletic build. Long brown hair kept tied back in a braided ponytail. White skin, brown eyes. Reasonably pretty.
  • Personality: Adventurous, ambitious and impatient, Kyla is easily bored, occasionally causing her to get a bit stir-crazy. Her hunger for knowledge and unending quest for something interesting to do have gotten her accused of making brash decisions in the past, though she is not naïve and is usually aware of her actions’ possible consequences before she acts. Though not above committing pretty crime for fun and profit, Kyla is a compassionate person at heart, loyal to her friends and allies, and still committed to (her favourite parts of) traditional Jedi philosophies.
  • Primary Weapon Type: Lightsaber – Ataru.
  • Armor Type: Light.
  • Starting Abilities:
    • Improved Force Pull
    • Mind Trick
    • Slicing
    • Con Artistry
  • Equipment:
    • Lightsaber: violet blade; simple, straightforward hilt.
    • Slicer Datapad: acts as a whole lot of Computer Spikes, the supply of which can be replenished with a little time and effort.
  • Brief History: Born on a rural little planet in a largely-forgotten corner of the galaxy, Kyla was soon found to be Force Sensitive and was given over to the near-by Jedi Enclave. Before she could graduate to Padawan, however, the Jedi Civil War broke out and the Enclave was destroyed by Sith forces. She, her older brother – a Jedi Knight – and a handful of others managed to escape the planet unharmed, and they sought refuge at another Enclave a few systems away. This Enclave was sparsely populated and not prepared for the sudden influx of Initiates, so Kyla found herself able to neglect her studies and meditation in favour of more interesting pursuits like using (or abusing) her powers to impress her friends and make a little money, as well as learning about computer security, something which also impressed her friends and made her some money. Her brother strongly disapproved of her actions, and one fateful confrontation prompted her to run away from the Enclave and try and get a ride off-world. Not long after she’d left, however, the Sith attacked again, and the Enclave she’d been staying at was destroyed. The fates of her friends and her brother were left unknown to her, as the locals reported that several Jedi had escaped, though nobody knew which ones, exactly. After searching for a few years, she eventually gave up, but had taken a liking to independent living and refused to return to the Jedi Order. She lives on a modest, semi-reliable income from conning unsuspecting and unaware people out of their hard-earned money and/or raiding the savings accounts of unsuspecting businessmen, though she always leaves a little bit behind and does her best not to take money from anyone who might need it more than her.
  • Plot Hooks:
    • Although she’s generally not notorious enough for most people to instantly recognize her, she is wanted for petty theft and fraud on several worlds, and has stolen from several gangs in the past.
    • Kyla’s older brother’s fate in unknown, much like her parents’ fate. She presumes they are all dead, but can’t know for sure…
  • Links:
    • Having pissed off Luda the Hutt, and a little short on credits, she found the biggest, meanest-looking guy on the planet and convinced him to solve her problem at a hefty discount. Uziel was happy for the challenge, but the Hutt himself escapes his wrath and now there's a bounty on both their heads.
    • As a result of her earlier misfortune, bounty hunters pursued her. Once, while being pursed, she bumped into Sia, who was being pursued by the very same bounty hunters. They very briefly worked together to elude their pursuers, but parted ways shortly after.

  • Name: Rakko
  • Sex: Male
  • Age: Ewok equivalent of a twenty-five year old.
  • Race: Ewok
  • Title: Bounty Hunter
  • Role on Ship: Goon/Guard
  • Alignment: Grey. Kills people for a living but tries to only accept jobs for noble causes and has his own personal code of honor.
  • Appearance: Basically looks like a mini panda bear in a brown Ewok hood. Has black and white fur and brown eyes. Stands about 1 meter tall.
  • Personality: Rakko is in love with freedom. His days of a slave have made him wary of outsiders and the trauma he experienced has deeply hurt him. However, he remembers happier days of his time on the Forest Moon of Endor and, thus, tempers his rage and pain with nostalgia. He is intensely sympathetic to other slaves and he loves taking jobs that eliminate slavers. He is totally neutral towards both Jedi and Sith. In all, he just wants to get home but he knows that after his experiences, home will never be the same for him.
  • Primary Weapon Type : Carries a sturdy blaster pistol.
  • Armor: None
  • Starting Abilities:
    • [Ability 1]: Outdoorsmanship: Is skilled at finding prey and picking up trails from his days as a hunter on Endor. Sense of smell is increased so he can track a quarry by smell at short ranges. Can make primitive weapons, such as knives or axes, out of wood and stone. Can start a fire in the woods with very little.
    • [Ability 2]: Cooking: Due to Ewoks' omnivorous nature, Rakko is a very good cook and can prepare meals that most humanoids can consume.
    • [Ability 3]: Climbing: Due to their claws, short bodies, and habitat, Ewoks are pretty good climbers and Rakko is no exception. He can climb most anything from trees to short buildings in a manner reminiscent of a parkour teddy bear.
    • [Ability 4]: First Aid: While his methods are primitive, Rakko nonetheless knows how to fix minor wounds and how to temporarily treat major ones. His time in the galaxy has gotten him accustomed to modern medpacks and bacta so he knows more medical treatments than most Ewoks.
  • Equipment: Travels fairly light. His Ewok hood and his trusty blaster are his two most prized posessions but he also has a knapsack where he stores his gun when not in use and carries some ration bars, extra ammo, and his credits. Also carries a stone knife on his belt.
  • Brief History: Slavers came to the Forest Moon of Endor twice a year to capture those adorable but fierce warriors known as Ewoks. These primitive beasts made excellent gladiators or "pets" for nobles. Rakko was one of these unfortunate Ewoks that got captured. Tortured, and stowed inside a crate, Rakko was transported to Nar Shadda with other slaves where he was purchased by a gladiator ring. Rakko was mocked mercilessly and many predicted he would not survive the first round of combat. This proved to be their undoing. Rakko endured the taunts and humiliation silently while watching his captors' every move. His guards underestimated him and he escaped. Along the way, he killed a guard and stole his blaster. Using his hunting skills that he developed on Endor and his newfound freedom, Rakko became a bounty hunter. He now wanders the galaxy, picking up jobs, and living paycheck to paycheck. While he wants to return home, he knows that it will never be the same for him. That and he has no idea where his home is.
  • Plot Hooks: Is a bounty hunter so he can be partners or can work with other hired guns types of characters. He has a bounty on his head from escaping the gladiator ring so any prospective bounty hunters can track him down for money. Due to his time as a slave, he knows the inner workings of the trade and knows several high profile slavers.
  • Links -
    • Darius - Has partenered with this bounty hunter before. Is not overly fond of him because Darius often uses him for distractions but he considers him one of his only allies.
    • Sia - Is pursuing the bounty placed on Sia's head by one of the many people she has pissed off. He considers this a noble pursuit for he has heard terrible things about the Sith and he knows that they have dabbled in the slave trade before. It was while pursuing her that he was arrested for causing a disturbance as well as several other crimes that occurred while he was chasing her. He does not carry a grudge against for her since they are both in the same boat now - literally.

Just a harmless giant from a foreign land.
#5: Jan 17th 2015 at 2:22:14 PM

  • Name: Sia
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: 20-ish?
  • Race: Sephi
  • Class/Title: Sith Warrior
  • Role on Ship: Bodyguard/Enforcer
  • Alignment: Unabashedly Dark Side. Basically the Sith version of Neutral Evil.
  • Appearance: Slender, graceful, very elf-like. Gold eyes and dark red hair, usually styled in a set of pigtails. About 5'8" tall, and clearly trained for speed over strength. If she wasn't rocking the dark-leather-sith look all the time, she'd probably be called beautiful instead of some less elegant adjectives. Her lightsabers usually rest at the top of her over-knee boots. She wears a black, almost jedi-style tunic, but in a way that shows the black leather corset covering her chest, cut to still allow full range of movement. Long, over the elbow, leather gloves with metal dueling bracers complement the boots. A black sith robe is usually worn over the apparel. Her face, basically.
  • Personality: Sia is at first a cheerful and snarky person, and even in battle seems to keep that tendency, never betraying more than a good natured jest at her opponent. This belies the blood lust underneath that upper layers. Sia likes to fight. She likes to kill (challenging opponents best!) and she likes to be better than others at it. She especially considers skill more important than strength, arguing that every brute can be strong but skill is a far more valuable thing to have. She is also something of an attention whore, enjoying being in the center of it and she doesn't make much difference if its because of attraction or fear. Despite these, she *is* Sith, and fully aware of the downsides these tendencies of her character can have. She possesses enough discipline to clamp down on them if the need arises, or rather she lets herself of the leash if she thinks she has the leisure, fully intent on not letting herself come in the way of her ambition to become the sith lady she aims to be. And while her preferred form of combat is by the sword, she fully understands that words can be used to cut someone up just as much as a lightsaber.
  • Primary Weapon Type: Lightsaber (Red Blade through). Her personal weapons are a paired set, geared for her own Jar'Kai variant of Makashi (Form II). Both Saber's are dual-phase with a "normal" length and "shoto" length. Her fighting style is based on using one in each configuration (basically a sword+dagger variant of Makashi)
  • Armor Type: Wears mostly (probably not synthetic) leather as minimalist armor, claiming that "speed is armor" for her. The only exception are dueling bracers on her arm and shin's.
  • Starting Abilities:
    • Force Speed
    • Improved Force Jump
    • Battlemind
    • Advanced Lightsaber Combat: Jar'Kai Variant of Form II Makashi
  • Equipment:
    • Lightsabers
    • Robes
    • Sith Holochron

  • Brief History: Her parents were captured by slavers looking for exotic dancers, sold to an establishment of ill repute in the empire, where she was born in their "quarters". by the time she was about "youngling" age, the club owner (unwilling to wait for her to be old enough to dance herself to make a profit) was put to sale. Her Sith Master found her then and recognized the spark of the force in her, taking her as student. Her Master, a sith focusing on bladework over manipulation in his quest for strength, quickly realized that her inborn grace would make her an excellent fighter in her time.
After years of grueling (though welcome to her) training, he was slain however, poisoned by a rival. Unwilling to serve someone she considered unworthy (due to methods), she rather flew her Master's compound, aiming to now find strength on her own, and maybe one day return to kill the poisoner to show where true strength lay.
  • Plot Hooks: Given Sia's tendency to seek out good opponents for a sword fight (and her equal tendency not fight to the death), there may be a number of hacked off apprentices and master's (or lovers, etc) on both sides who'd want to killher/bring her to justice/etc. The Sith who killed her Master may also aiming to tidy off loose ends. Ultimately, Sia's aims are about amibition, a combination of her love for a good fight and her love of attention. She wants to be on the top of the food chain and she wants people to know that she is.

  • Links in the chain:
    • Selth: He used to have a relationship to her former Master, and Sia traded on that to get some space between her homeworld and herself after he died.
    • Rakko: He used to pursue her for a bounty, but Sia doesn't really mind that, though she would never admit that she finds the ewok kind of cuddly.
    • Feen: When Feen broke at the crime lord's lair, Sia just happened to be around as she was about to liberate a holochron from the same crime lord. They teamed up temporarily during the escape, Feen laying down cover fire while Sia brandished a lightsaber. The two parted ways afterwards, only to be reunited later as each other's "known associates".

  • Name: Selth
  • Sex: Male
  • Age: Late 40's
  • Race: Human
  • Class/Title: Consular
  • Role on Ship: Dipolmat/Spy/Bloke who mind tricks officials into ignoring the massive cargo of illegal goods
  • Alignment: Neutral, with slight Lightside leanings
  • Appearance: Stand's 5'9 with short brown but greying hair and some stubble, he looks a bit older than he is.
  • Personality: Selth is a calm and collected person, he tries - and for the most part succeeds - to keep his emotions out of of his decision making, preferring to stay out of other people's attention, but because of his strong moral centre he will come out of the shadows to fight for a cause he thinks is right. Still if he can serve a cause without revealing himself he will do that. Selth is quite a serious person but is not above making the (very) occasional joke.
  • Primary Weapon Type: Single Handed Lightsaber using Niman
  • Armor Type: Only his Gray Jedi robes with a bioregenative underlay
  • Starting Abilities:
    • Jedi Mind Trick/Dominate Mind
    • Force Stasis
    • Force Lightening
    • Force Sense
  • Equipment:
    • Lightsaber - Violet
    • Gray Jedi Robes
  • Brief History: Was taken to be a Jedi at a young age, once the Mandalorian war broke out he was one of the first to join the fight against them, briefly serving as a (competent) General before being moved into Revan's newly made intelligence service. From there Selth spent the rest of the war gathering intelligence on Mandalorians. When the Jedi Civil war came Selth joined in attacking the Republic, again serving as a spy/information collector, tracking down and selecting important Jedi for capture. When Malak betrayed Reavn Selth refused to follow Malak and left the Empire.
  • Plot Hooks: Having fought against the Republic and being responsible for many Jedi being captured and turned he has become an enemy of the Jedi, and due to leaving the empire there may be some sith who would try to kill him. Since he spent a lot of time with bounty hunter and underground contacts during his time as a spy they would know him as someone who can possibly be turned in for the bounty on Jedi. Is also very interested to find out what happened to Revan and why he disappeared.
  • Links in the Chain:
    • Sia: Knew her former master and then helped her get away from her homeworld.
    • TBA

I like all these guys so far, pretty interesting. They're all acceptable.

Although maybe Kyla could have a different role. It's not really a gameplay thing, but more just because it feels odd to refer to her as the ship's slicer when Fixit is already an expert slicer.

  • Name: Darius Solusar
  • Sex: Male
  • Age: 34
  • Race: Human
  • Class/Title: Bounty Hunter
  • Role on Ship: Sniper and Spotter
  • Alignment: Gray
  • Appearance: Darius stands at 5'11" and has a set of slicked back trim black hair, often assumed to be from his helmet. His skin is pale and his eyes a piercing icy blue. He wears a large tattered coat to make himself more physically imposing, his helmet has a odd visor and optics system built into it's respirator mask. It doesn't do much currently other than glow to make Darius seem threatening.
  • Personality: Darius has a cold personality, he tends to be a very professional person and is generally in it only for the pay. His tone is generally uninterested as if nothing is truly going to affect him. Despite all this his tone can change in a instant to one of rage if something is not going according to plan. For him he cannot think up a new plan on the spot and generally has a plan beforehand, hence the rage if things start to go off the rails. Darius also has no sense of loyalty and can be bought off any bounty or target for a even higher price, he's not to proud to accept that. Beyond that he feels nothing for the people who hire him or his targets. it's all business.
  • Primary Weapon Type: Blaster
  • Armor Type: Medium armor.
  • Starting Abilities:
    • Blasters - Riflemanship. Darius is a Sniper first and foremost and can often be seen climbing up tall buildings to get a better shot on his target. However he is perfectly capable of utilizing a Assault blaster to close the range. It's just that his primary use is within Sniper Rifles.
    • Improved Piloting Skill - If it has a control system he can drive it. how well depends, he mostly prefers to use fighters and other non ground vehicles.
    • Engineering - Darius claims that all good bounty hunters should be capable of maintaining their tools and sabotaging their target if need be. It is his honest belief of this but he still turns to others for more complex mechanical needs.
  • Equipment: Darius carries a Blas Tech A280 assault blaster◊ with no modifications, as he claims "If it isn't broken, don't need to fix it." His other weapon is a customized DC-15x Sniper Blaster◊ with work in progress on converting it to a anti-material blaster, he is also asking Fixit for assistance on allowing it to fire slug rounds as well "A slug can down a Jedi in one shot" as he puts. Finally is his armor and helmet, he does not claim to carry more.
  • Brief History: Darius has been a bounty hunter for 9 years and shows no remorse or signs of stopping. Travel for him as much as he would love to have his own ship, is heavily limited to public use, a fake identity and smile each time with a wave of a license and some spare galactic credit into the right pockets as he moves forward. He continues with Bounty Hunting because it's what he does best.
  • Plot Hooks: Darius is a hired gun and nothing more. But currently he is drifting, he has no new job opportunities on the horizon and is just there as it was the cheapest transport available. Truth be told he's there because he's hunting a personal bounty, and figured it was one of the best ways to get about as he knew old associates there, one of which being Rakko.
  • Links in the Chain:
    • Fixit - Darius has met up with the Jawa more than once in his travels and is on decent enough terms with him to ask for help maintaining his weapons. His consummate views generally results in him treating Fixit quite well and paying handsomely for work well done.
    • Rakko - Darius's relation to Rakko is purely professional, they have teamed up together more than once to catch a bounty or two. Darius's plans generally involving Rakko being a distraction as part of the galaxy seems to find him adorable. Most of these plans are in jest.

Alrighty then it is all here!

The picture shows the powered armor Uziel plans to acquire, rather than the mundane armor he starts with. Regardless, it wouldn't look vastly different.

  • Name: Uziel Astaroth
  • Age: Mid 20s
  • Race: Human
  • Class: Dark Side Marauder
  • Role on Ship: Enforcer/Armorer
  • Alignment: On the dark side of neutral. Uziel was raised on Sith teachings and relies on his emotions to survive, but he is naturally calm and has begun to dabble in the light side of the Force to further augment his combat capabilities.
  • Appearance: Obvious signs of dark side corruption, as well as reconstructive cybernetics mar Uziel’s otherwise-handsome face. Veins bulge around his angular eyes, which themselves have seemingly lost their pupils in an unnatural shade of yellow. His skin is too pale to be healthy, and his medium-length red hair has begun to darken. On either side of his face, the hinges of his jaw are starkly emphasized by metal prosthetics.

He stands about six and a half feet tall – a body built for strength, rather than agility. Outside of his armor, a line of orange lights may show through the back of his clothing, tracing the length of his cybernetic spine.

If one were to sense Uziel with the Force, they would see that he tightly controls a reservoir of almost blindingly-hot rage deep within him. It makes him difficult to focus on for long.
  • Personality: Rarely without his menacing armor, Uziel brazenly wears the black hooded robes that entail his Sith upbringing wherever he goes. Where some of his ilk would use deception and guile, he welcomes the trouble his ensemble brings. Any conflict is a potential battle, and he loves nothing more.

Far from being antagonistic, however, Uziel is deeply contemplative when uncontested. His emotions, particularly his anger, are kept well in check when they are not needed, making him stoic and difficult to provoke against his better judgment. Indeed, his distaste for trickery and his introspective nature mean many things tend to slip by his notice, and he has suffered countless injuries over the years from enemies and hazards unseen.

  • History: Taken in by an isolated Sith monastery on the cold planet Arcturus IV as a young child, Uziel was largely raised by the dark side. Though a poor study of Force manipulation, he quickly took to lightsaber combat and the bolstering power of emotion. Always at odds with his master, he came to his own ideas about the Force through meditation and combat, realizing that the strength he gained through rage was self-destructive without a measure of control. Finding the right balance between the two, he thought, was the key to true power.

While his master’s other pupils gradually left the temple in order to join various marauding Sith warbands in the Sith Civil War - or start their own - events outside Uziel’s control took him from his remote homeworld and cast him across the galaxy. He now acts a mercenary in order to maximize the amount of combat he sees, and his considerable skills are highly sought after.

Most recently, Uziel was taken prisoner by the Trianni Rangers after visiting their corner of space. Not sure of the crimes of which he was under suspicion, Uziel regardless had no interest in wasting time in prison, and took the first opportunity to escape, winding up aboard a smuggler's freighter with a diverse group of others apparently wanted for the same.
  • Plot Hooks:
    • Uziel has lost count of the enemies he's made, particularly in Hutt Space. He's had a sizable bounty on his head ever since he wiped out half of Luda's gang on Nar Shadaa on little more than a dare, but he relishes the combat it brings his way.
    • Ever wanting variety in his foes, Uziel has also managed to incite something of a grudge from a remnant sect of the Jedi Order after an ill-fated assault on his academy became his own attempted capture. After escaping his bindings, he managed to slaughter the remains of the overzealous strike-team (including half a dozen Guardians and a vaunted Consular) in a close-quarters melee aboard their own ship - the greatest battle of his life - though not without receiving a mangled jaw and a badly-injured spine for his troubles. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately for him, attempting to commandeer the ship without first altering its Transponder code got him flagged on a Jedi watchlist. From then on he has experienced no shortage of formidable force-wielding foes, made all the more desperate given the current state of their Order.
    • Like many Sith, Uziel idolizes Revan, and eagerly awaits the eventual return of the enigmatic man whom he considers the true Dark Lord of the Sith.
  • Links in the Chain:
    • Kyla: The young Jedi bravely approached Uziel to help her out after she managed to get on the wrong side of Luda the Hutt, a gang leader on Nar Shaddaa. She wasn't able to offer much in the way of credits, but Uziel was more than happy for the challenge. Though he was able to take out half of the gang in a one-man raid, Luda himself escaped and placed a hefty bounty on both their heads.
    • Feen: Due to his Force Rage, Uziel tends to take injury without realizing it until long after the fight has ended. A few hours after carving a swath through Luda's gang, the many volleys of blaster fire he sustained caught up with him, incapacitating him. He woke up in a medbay some time later, being tended to by Feen at a local clinic.

  • Name: Feen'bonduna ("Feen")
  • Sex: female
  • Age: adult-aged
  • Race: Twi'lek
  • Title: "the nurse"
  • Role on Ship: Combat Medic / Ambassador
  • Alignment: light-ish neutral
  • Appearance: Blue-skinned and still young enough to be pretty.
  • Personality:
    • She has a strong sense of loyalty, and once established, is not easy to break. Her demeanor can be a bit fluid, depending on the people she's interacting with.
    • Not very keen on using the Force when she doesn't need to. You big baby, that's what your natural regenerative processes are for.
  • Primary Weapon Type: Blaster pistol. Light, but functional. Also, concealable.
    • (note: As a former Jedi-in-training, if she ever picks up a lightsaber, she won't accidentally cut her arms off. She just won't be good at fighting with it, though.)
  • Armor Type: Light
  • Starting Abilities:
    • Improved Force Heal — she can heal other's injuries (or her own) even while on the move. Has increased effectiveness on poison
    • Medicine — from field first aid to treating more serious injuries in the med bay or somesuch
    • Dodge — in case they try to shoot the medic first
    • Persuasion — reason and rhetoric, sometimes seduction
  • Equipment:
    • blaster pistol
    • basic combat suit
    • a couple of medpacks
  • Brief History:
    • Began training with the Jedi at a young age, but constantly failed to abide by the Jedi code. People not meant to live without emotion or attachment, she thought. Eventually left Jedi order, but had stayed just long enough to gain some training in the healing arts. The rest, she picked up on her own.
  • Plot Hooks:
    • During a past mission with another group, she posed as a slave girl so that the group could sneak into the lair of a crime lord and swipe a very expensive treasure. She was found out as they were making their getaway, and although they all managed to get out safely, said crime lord now knows her face. And he might just be inclined to put a price on that pretty little head... alive, though, not dead.
    • Healers aren't always able to save the people in their care. The brother of one such person now bears a personal grudge against her for "letting him die".
  • Links in the Chain:
    • Selth — Feen not being one to allow harm to come to one of her patients, she hid Selth from his Jedi pursuers despite her former affiliation with them. Patient records don't lie, though, and investigators eventually discovered this connection between them.
    • Sia — During the break-in at the crime lord's lair, Sia just happened to be around with an agenda of her own. They teamed up temporarily during the escape, Feen laying down cover fire while Sia brandished a lightsaber. The two parted ways afterwards, only to be reunited later as each other's "known associates".
    • Uziel — The marauder stumbled into the clinic where Feen was working at the time, severely injured and requiring immediate medical attention. Uziel was out for several weeks, and required Feen's constant supervision, occasionally requiring the use of Force Heal to stabilize his condition. The cybernetic parts only served to complicate matters, but thankfully he pulled through in the end.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Added a bit to Uziel's appearance for Selth's benefit.

@Blackfire: She's the only one with any sort of talky powers (excluding anyone else with mind trick) so maybe communications. Also I didn't notice this before, but what specific type of telekinesis do you mean? Force Pull? Push? Choke? Saber Throw? Levitation?

@Echo: Do you want him to be skilled with a rifle, and really skilled with a sniper rifle, or is it the other way around. I'm not sure which "blaster" you mean.

I don't think Push and Pull merit their own separate ability slots.

Edit: It looks like Darius has Primary Weapon - Sniper Blaster, Advanced Sniper Blaster skill, and Assault Blaster Rifle skill.

I'm basing it loosely off of KotOR's skills with a little bit of Jedi Knight II thrown in. Force Push is like an invisible air assault that can knock someone over and disable them, but while it has a big force it's divided over a big area. Pull, on the other hand, is much more finesse, and more power density, but over a very small area- allowing you to rip someone's weapon out of their hand. In either case you have general telekinesis powers, but they are different implementations in combat scenarios. So while they're different in a fight in that one slams and the other disarms, it's not like I'm going to bust balls over "Oh, your attempt to pull the lightswitch fails, you should try pushing it instead"[lol]

Or more accurately, it's like the Force powers distinctions in the tabletop game. In that instance, they call them by the names "Force Thrust" and "Force Disarm". But I think that's a little too specific, so I tried to use the game definitions instead.

@Nman: Random's character has talky skills too, though. He's even listed as "Diplomat" (among other things) for his role on the ship.

EDIT x 2: Given nman's descriptions, I guess I'll say she's got "Force Pull."

Yeah but he's also the "Spy/Bloke who mind tricks officials into ignoring the massive cargo of illegal goods". Mind trick doesn't work over the radio, and Kyla has general con artistry skills.evil grin

Heh heh. That's a good point. I'll go ahead and change "Slicer" to "Comms."

I mean I guess Feen has Persuasion which is also "talky", but she's already the nurse so *somethingsomethinghandwave* being a slicer and a talker could be the reason Kyla's on comms.

The "role" thing isn't going to be such a big deal, I just thought it would be nice if everyone had stuff they could put on a theoretical business card[lol]

So I believe that's everyone who posted a sheet in the interest check? I know Des and a couple others expressed interest so I'll give it some more time for them to post and then work on links. I guess maybe I'll start this on Tuesday or Wednesday then? I imagine people have holiday plans anyway for Monday, anyway.

Also Fixit doesn't have his links listed, but working backwards I can see Darius mentioning him, so that's one at least.

And it looks like both Blackfire and Shane liked "Sunhawk", I'll go with that name for the ship then, barring any serious objections.

Alright I think this is the current chain of who knows who knows who. Fixit didn't have his links listed so I had to use the one on Darius's sheet. Kyla had like three that were "maybe" that I didn't see reflected in the reciprocating sheet, so I held off listing those pending ones until I know for sure.

Fixit I didn't list as I figured it would take a while for everyone to warm up to the Jawa.
