That trailer during the direct... Those looked like some very stunning locales.
Call me crazy, but I'm fairly certain I saw a giant rusted ring that looked an awful lot like some Mechonis has. X is a distant sequel, with Mira being the world the races of the Bionis and Mechonis were sent to after the reconstruction of the universe.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Question, was the big United States logo on the side of the pod shown in other trailers?
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I'm pretty sure the devs had said that X has no relation to the last game, story wise.
But those views were gorgeous.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yeah, that was there.
They could be lying. They've been very hush-hush about the story in general, and if this game has half the twists the original had...

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. It's about time we made a second thread for this.
The whole "sense the after effects in advance" thing sounds interesting, it could be as simple as recon on the potential of the weapons of both sides, or maybe Shulk giving mankind "their future" involved leaving some form of precognition as a safeguard in case of planet wide disaster.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobAnd just like that, I'm ignoring everything else. Give me some time and I'll translate it myself.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'm pretty sure that's just bad translation, and it really is meant to say "The people of Earth quickly caught on to what was happening and what the logical outcome was going to be, and started to build giant rockets to get the Hell out of Dodge before the planet they lived on was promoted to asteroid field". It's certainly closer to what I was getting out of a fan translation of the full intro circa E3 2014 (similarly full of machine-translator-mangled English, but you can get the bigger picture from it).
At any rate, it's not "the people of Earth all had Monado-like visions of the future".

Moon◊If the Nopon are from this Mira planet, then my theory might hold more weight to it. Either Mira is the planet the races of Bionis and Mechonis ended up in after the universe's rebirth, or is one of the planets they eventually colonized.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."I think Mira merely has Nopon because they're now officially the Moogle to Xenoblade's Final Fantasy.
Moon◊Somebody mentioned that the latest trailer had Telethia in it.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureSorry for the delay.
First off is Elma. The main text on her page says this:
While the text under her picture says this:
I'll be doing the next two characters and then tackle the story page since that one will take the longest.
EDIT: Oh, despite the use of the word "army", the word used for "captain" refers to the Naval rank so she was actually pretty high up in the chain of command.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Next we have Lynlee whose nickname seems to be Lyn. Big thanks to Kuro Bara Hime for help with this one.
The main text:
The quote:
I'll get to the last one in a bit but am saving the story section for tomorrow simply because of how long it's going to take.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!So Lynlee has a Monado (hair pin) and she works on machinery for a military like Shulk.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureSorry for the delay. Lastly, we have the little Nopon Tatsu.
The main text:
The quote:
He certainly seems like quite the character, huh? He's probably going to fall under Love It or Hate It.
All that leaves is the story section and my god. I think I'm going to be lazy a bit longer and just take my time with this one. Ya know, translate it in bits and pieces rather than all of it in one sitting.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Well, Riki was written to be adorable while saying absolutely horrible things; Tatsu's just carrying on tradition, really.
Moon◊One of Square's devs, Wan Hazmer, made a post singing praises to Monolith's work on X. It's always nice seeing competition being friendly like this.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."You may like to know that the story section hasn't said anything new so far. All it's done is give some new terms like "Earth Species Pan-Emigration Plan" and "Unification Government" and "Fixed Star Inter-Emigration Ships".
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! When is this coming out again?
One Strip! One Strip!April in Japan, later this year everywhere else.
Two new characters on the site: Van Damme (no relation, I'm sure) and Irina.
According to StreetsAhead on NeoGAF (who can read Japanese, so I'm pretty sure this isn't a machine translation):
Van Damme is the commanding officer of B.L.A.D.E.

Moon◊I'll go ahead and run my own translation since it's not like its hard and I need the practice anyway. I may also put off the translation of the story section since it's all just prologue stuff so there isn't anything major to learn. Of course, I only have five lines to go so....
Also, for the record, I'm not the one translating the quotes. They're pictures rather than regular text so my furigana site doesn't work on it and I can't read kanji. It's Kuro Bara Hime who's translating them for us. The character bios are all me, though.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Wasn't Squaretache in the original game called Vandamme? I seem to remember him being called something similar. It would be interesting if both Colonel characters were called that.
The Napon Tatsu was the original name for one of the Napons in Xenoblade Chronicles. They changed the name in Xenoblade Chronicles but one thing that both Tatsus have in common are the glasses with swirls on them.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure
For those of you who want to be able to get news about this game without having to worry about spoilers for the other one.
Here\'s hoping we get more news about it in today\'s Direct!
