Tropers - The first of many exciting updates to TV Tropes is upon us! In this update, we focused primarily on making the header and side navigation bars consistent throughout the site. We also reworked a ton of the backend code to allow for easier and more rapid development as we move forward.
Some of you may love the new design, others may hate it. Either way, we would love to hear from you below. We are listening, I promise.
If you have a bug to report, please use the designated thread on the Tech Wishlist and Bug Report to let us know about it.
Now get back to Troping!

I'm asking about the one on beta.
You'll have to ask on the Beta Wishlist here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSorry, I'm having trouble accessing the beta wishlist because I keep getting a message telling me to enter my username and password, so I keep doing it, and it won't let me access it. What am I doing wrong?

I presume you didn't donate to the Kickstarter back last November-December?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSorry, no, I didn't.
Then you can't access the beta site. But your concerns last I checked have been mentioned on the beta site.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThank you, that's very nice to hear.
Last time I tried, I couldn't log in on the Beta site. That seems wrong; I'm pretty sure I was able to do it when the dev had the trademark "Facebook Bar" at the top.
H.B. WardWhat's up with this new layout
The best strategy is to talk faster. Its been up for about 9 months. Were you gone a long time?
Tropes API when?
I'm 50/50 on the look. But I'm leaning towards the good side.
The Will doesn't always give people a big push, but when he does, it's off a cliff.Hmmm, not bad.
check out KinitoPETGreenlinks within posts, thread titles in half the lines in subfora, etc are still annoying to look at in Night Vision mode. :/ That particular green and that particular grey have just little enough contrast between them to make reading take effort; I think it's especially bad when next to the default white text color. Worst part, of course, is that I'm not sure what'd fix this except making them use the same grey as post name, location, etc lines.
F'rinstance, the "here" in this post takes a closer squint to read for some reason. And yet, the first line of this post is slightly less hard to read than that, while still being harder than anything in regular white text.
I'm not even sure what change would best fix this, but I've just been noticing it because I use Night Vision mode and felt like complaining. :/ I dunno if my eyes are just uniquely affected in this way, but I kinda doubt it.
i care but i'm restless, i'm here but i'm really gone, i'm wrong and i'm sorry, babyNo, I'm with you on that. I generally prefer a dark color scheme to a bright one, but I don't use night vision mode specifically because of the issues you mention.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. Not sure if this is the right place to put this but is there a possibility to include the original thumped post in the PM one receives after being thumped? This way it stays out of the public eye still but the one who is thumped now knows what they said so as not to repeat it.
"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValThat's off-topic for this thread, but as long as you are not forum-banned you can view the content of your own thumped posts by clicking the Edit button.

Hello,
Apologies if this question has already been asked, but how do I set a page's type in the new design, from the page itself? The only way I found was going to the Un-Typed Pages tool and praying that it may appear in the first page...

"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Call a moderator for changing a page type. You could also try one of the hacks here.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThanks.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."What do the numbers at the bottom left of an article mean? For example, the Joggers Find Death article has these numbers:
21465
36

Bigotry in the name of inclusion is still bigotry. The first is the character count on the page. The second is I think the number of a database table.

Um, are you asking about this version or the one on beta?
