Saw it and I have to agree, this does give Rippen a little bit of humanity to his reputation, but I wonder who that Ambiguously Asian guy was and if we will ever learn more about him.
"We be we baby!"Exactly, we get to find out what it looks like on his side. We get a new character and it just raises more questions.
But it's still pretty laxed on both ends. Nothing REALLY world building has happened but we do find out that he's working under someone, like the villain from Conan The Adventurer.
"We be we baby!"So it is canon that Rippen and Larry are his teachers, but more shocking is the reason he's a villain! It's because of his sis. And it ends with another touching end that shows Rippen DOES have a heart.
"We be we baby!"I caught a few more episodes.
It's really growing on me. I like a lot of the humor and animation.
Watching the most recent episode (3 Big Problems, Cereal Criminals) - so far this show continues to get better. Here's hoping they can keep it up... Since Star Vs is not only on the way, but likely going to outlast this show, which I feel is unfortunate, as I am continuously growing a little more attached to this than the actual breadwinner at the moment.
New Web Browser, same old Shokew.I think both will have a pretty long run, but there's just so much you can squeeze into a show about a dimension jumping hero... Wait, what?
Honestly, I doubt Disney is going to let either of these two shows go after they've gotten so much hype.
"We be we baby!"I'd personally consider Gravity Falls to be Disney XD's "breadwinner" at this point.
Out of the new episodes, I liked "3 Big Problems" a little better, though "Cereal Criminals" was no slouch either (and had an epic song to boot). You'd think though that Penn, of all people, would know better than to tick Sashi off, which he was immediately made to regret.
Never be normal. So, what're the odds on Rippen's sister showing up and forcing an Enemy Mine at some point. I'd say pretty high.
It'd be interesting if they pulled a Xiaolin Showdown sort of thing where Rippen (here being Jack Spicer) remained a villain but ended up having to deal with even eviller villains trying to muscle in on his archenemy role, and ended up showing more sympathetic traits as a result.
Or maybe Pokemon would be a better example, with Rippen and Larry being Jessie and James, while his sister would played more like how Butch and Cassidy were at first.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I think you give this show too much credit to pull something like that.
Still, A Poke Mon-like anime episode would be cool.
"We be we baby!"I just realized. I don't think there was a Wilhelm Scream in the last episode.
Also, the Milkman is the best. They need to have Rippen share episodes with other villains more often.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Milkman is my current Nightmare Fuel.
Yeah, I'd love to see more on Rippen's sister and Penn's parents.
I love how, while Penn, Sashi and Boone have their "official" roles as the Hero, the Sidekick and the Wise Man, you wouldn't really know that from watching them - they consider themselves to be, and act like, a team of equals.
Never be normal.Yeah, but Penn usually points out how he's leader a lot of times, but not to boast. also, the most recent episodes weren't too bad.(I couldn't help making testicle jokes and Luigi "Football" refs in "Balls")
"We be we baby!"Awesome! I'm really getting into the show.
Mind blow to the 2nd power: Larry in the show is the LARRY from the Nightly show!
"We be we baby!"Disney-Universe? Gender-bending? I am surprised and amused at the same time.
The skeletons were so cute in both episodes.
What episodes?
"We be we baby!"There were new episodes this week. They flew completely under my radar too.
The first one had Penn, Boone and Sachi forced to tell the truth in song and fight about it - and as Madmous said, everyone swapped genders for the episode. The second one had Larry fill in for Rippen, and make such an incompetent evil overlord that the heroes had to pretend to let him win so his skeleton minions wouldn't mutilate him.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I wanna see an episode where all 5 main characters have to play clones of another character at the same time!
They said on XD that the two episodes ARE JUST NOW AIRING next week.
"We be we baby!"
Well, I missed it last night, hope to give you my opinion on the episode tonight. NO MORE SPOILERS!
