I forgot what train of thought led me to this idea, but the result is a story about some personifications of rocks.

As you know there are three kinds of rocks: Sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous.

Thus, I have three characters, one for each type. Now what I need to do is create a personality for each character so that that it fits the type of rock that the character represents. Of course that's quite a task seeing how rocks are rather inanimate. Then again some of us did read the adventures of the Metal Men.

Sedimentary, perhaps the Big Fun of the group (a pun on "sedentiary").

Igneous, maybe Hot-Blooded, since "igneous" means "pertaining to lava".

Metamorphic is a little tricky, maybe bipolar since "metamorph" means "to change form", so the form of its personality changes.

Now everyone pat me on the back and tell me how clever I am!

Quite the task isn't it.

I'm beginning to wonder if the character traits of the cast in The Brave Little Toaster were rather arbitrary.

Sedimentary - Free spirit, absent-minded, goes with the flow. Has a bit of a morbid streak and a fondness for secrets. Neither bends nor breaks when faced with a sudden challenge, but very quickly gives up and moves on if it lasts long at all, no matter how seemingly inconsequential it may be.

Igneous - Single-minded, hot-headed, hard-nosed, and sharp-witted, always steadily and determinedly driving at some goal or another and liable to explode if things keep not working out. Has a secret bubblier side that emerges on certain occasions, especially after achieving success.

Metamorphic - A neurotic mess, constantly struggling to adapt to irreconcilable desires and constant shifting pressures from outside sources. Nonetheless, if the situation lasts long enough for everything to align properly, capable of moments of beautiful clarity and decisiveness.

In addition to the already great suggestions...

Sedimentary - He is a collector. Anything, everything, you name it. Leaves, animal bones... He knows everything there is to know about fossils and strata, as is to be expected. Quite a wise old man whose seen it all in this old world.

Ignious - She has a quick temper and some scars, both mental and physical. She was born of fire, which means she was forged by torturous forces, created from painful processes. She may be portrayed Like A Badass Outta Hell coming from a "hellfire" upbringing.

Metamorphic - Like others have said, a shifting, hard to pin down personality. Perhaps a Trickster type or the Cloud Cuckoo Lander of the Super Team. I wonder if they might be prone to spouting occasionally profound absurdities, like The Tick.

In which I attempt to be a writer.

Hmm, I agree with sedimentary being somewhat of a traveler and collector.

But I'm kind of disagreeing with metamorphic being the non-serious or slightly crazy character. Perhaps it is because I imagine this character would wield a magic hammer and such a personality doesn't exactly fit with that other aspect.

Still somewhat uncertain about igneous as I'm not sure how much of a living volcano should I make that character.
