Leave it to Battlefield to be 4 years behind the times. Modern warfare shooters like World War Two are pretty depleted in the triple-A world. People want different, this is not.

Yeah my interest in Battlefield is fairly low right now. Couldn't even be assed to play the new DLC for 4. No new guns.
I wouldn't really mind a modern military shooter but to be honest I have doubts they'll make an interesting game.

Seriously, when was the last time we got a major WWII shooter? Last major one I remember was Call Of Duty World At War.

There's actually a ton of new WWII FP Ses out there right now, just check the Steam Early Access and Greenlight page to see what I mean. Most notable ones being Heroes & Generals and Red Orchestra, as Onyhow mentioned. There's also another one out there that's supposed to make this one massive sandbox of a battlefield the size of a small country that resets every two months, but I forgot it's name.

Oh, I forgot about Red Orchestra. Actually, I didn't, but for some reason it didn't click in my head as a WWII FPS. Maybe I got it confused with Company Of Heroes and thought it was a Turn-Based Strategy game. Dunno.
