Do we really need to have antagonists with modern equipment? I like the designs and gear of the Arcsys antagonists we have. I don't see why anything just needs to be more modern.

What is a fandom? A miserable little pile of flame wars! 3DS FC: 0387-9377-7408 PSN ID: Raven King Sagei'm just gonna be the guy who points out the elephant in the room
'ARCANA HEART ARCANA HEART
And then there was silenceBut my concern is that, once Ishiwatari and Mori are done with their respective franchises, what's the next flavor for Arc's new IP, post-apocalyptic world which doesn't act 20-21st Century-ish? I mean, why not have the next IP be post-apocalyptic, but with some modern-looking stuff, and the antagonist's mooks looking like Helghast?
Technically, Arcana Heart's EXAMU.

Thread title changed as requested.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo, does Jagi count? Or is he disqualified from "villain using modern equipment" because he's from a licensed game?
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI love how Hokuto No Ken is the butt of everyone's joke when it comes to game balance. Doesnt make the game any less kickass.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.To be quite honest, I think futuristic equipment is better than modern weaponry.
Case and point, Ouroboros. That thing can literally alter someone's mind. Way scarier than any gun, if you ask me.
isn't Ouroborous like
magical, mostly?
And then there was silenceIt seems like a mixture of magic and fancy sci-fi technology to me.
Ouroboros is Magitek.
But when I meant "mooks using modern equipment," I mean mooks wielding rifles while playable characters are the ones with the magical weaponry.
Most likely it's because BB and GG's nature of being fighting games, outfitting minor villains with modern weaponry would serve little purpose. Granted, GG had a couple of beat'em ups, but you were mostly fighting Gears in those. I'd imagine if they were to make a BB beat'em up we'd see a few mooks with modern weaponry.
Honestly what's the need for guns in BB's universe when you've got Ars magus?
and Okay you two, you got me there. Though the point is that, if Arc makes a new fighting game, I worry that it'll just be GG 3.0, since BB is GG 2.0. I mean, for the new fighting game in question, keep the post-apocalyptic setting, just have gun-totting henchmen.
Anyways, second order of business, any reason why Arc has yet to ask SNK to finish the sequel to Garou: Mark of the Wolves 2, given the fact Arc is full of ex-SNK employees who may have worked on the 70% that was completed?
Why would they want to stay in contact with SNK? They're EX-employees for a reason.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Yeah, but do any of those who left SNK to organize Arc really dread their time in the former?

Kentaro Miura would be proud.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Warning: I have finally moved my ass and is building the Self Demonstrating page for Terumi. Once done, feel free to edit it. I'm sure my version will be heavily flawed so actually edits will be necessary.
EDIT: Done.

Second order of business: Anyone here think that for Arc's next IP, they should ditch Heroes Want Redheads? I mean, fun's fun, but if they'll keep doing it, it will kinda get stale.
Any grievances about the recent Death Battle between Sol and Ragna shall henceforth be discussed here.
Honestly, the result was expected, the fight itself along with the facts had their flaws, but I wasn't expecting too much from those either, so I can hardly say I'm disappointed.
Then again, I'm biased as fuck and am just glad that Sol won out, even if that was the expected outcome.

To avoid going off-topic in the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue threads in regards to Arc business practices, comparisons between the aforementioned franchise, as well as whatever to either two, and whatever, take it here please.
Regarding the world building of both GG and BB production-wise, any reason why they're not into making antagonists run around with modern day gear and weaponry?
