I actually do have a different angle in how a Lucio - Symmetra meeting (could be in a comic or animated short) could work.
My idea would be for Lucio to break into a Vishkar facility to uncover evidence of illegal activity on their partnote . He runs through the base easily dodging his way past guards and automated defenses, partly through skill but also because he was tipped off on the facilities defenses by someone on the inside.
Just before he reaches his goal he runs into Symmetra, they have a brief fight and with the expected banter, which Lucio winsnote . But as he is about to leave for the archive room Symmetra reveals that he has been playing her game the entire time. The people who tipped him off about the illegal activity and the facilities defenses? Symmetra using various aliases and voice modulators. Their fight? Expertly choreographed in advanced by Symmetra, who spent days pouring over every piece of footage of Lucio in combat so she could arrange the fight so he would inadvertently destroy all the security cameras in the room so they could have this conversation in private.
Why did she go through all this trouble? Because, as she's not a terrible person, she wants to end Vishkar's illegal dealings and bring those responsible to justice. But she also knows that the well goes much deeper then anyone who can be implicated by the evidence stored in this facility, so she needed someone on the outside to serve as an obvious source of the breach while she can continue to play the part of the loyal employee. Putting her in a position to not only take over Vishkar, but to be in direct contact with the shadowy conspiracy that has it's hands in everything.
This whole thing unnerves Lucio, partly because he doesn't like being manipulated, but partly because also because he realizes that despite knowing everything, he can't stop playing her game. He's still exposing actual illegal activity, and without actual proof that Symmetra was working with him (proof Symmetra made very sure doesn't exist), any action he takes against her will only help her gain even more influence within Vishkar.
The comic/short would end with a flashforward of Symmetra being named Vishkar CEO in the wake of a scandal that lead to the arrest of the previous CEO and a good chunk of the board of directors.
Actually solid, but what I was speaking of was the tendency of Tumblr's mentality to take the Lucio-Symmetra conflict, which was constantly like I described and bored me (and mind you, it would lead to romantic encounter/pair). You did good on the concept of 'Symmetra ditches Vishkar with a little help from Lucio', it's fresh, but yeah I was just mentioning Tumblr and why I'm considering ditching that place even for good Symmetra coverage.
Oh and did I mention how most of the Tumblr people are just viewing Symmetra with just "OMG she's autistic, just like me! AWESOME!" It's good that there is a good portrayal of autism unlike before, but... Does this mean that if Symmetra wasn't autistic, they wouldn't even give a shit to her?? Really, Tumblr??
Maybe I should've seen that coming... I didn't see how the Tracer fandom was like over there, but I think I can guess. I think it'll be full of "OMG SHE'S A LESBIAN, NOT STRAIGHT! LIKE ME, WHO WAS OPPRESSED BECAUSE I WAS LGBT TOO!!"... Errr.... I dunno, I'm definitely not LGBT, but if I was, even I would roll my eyes on those overenthusiastic guys

What bugs me about such Lucio-Symmetra stories is how naive they are. That all it takes for a person to turn sides is showing some stuff. Is Symmetra really going to believe someone who she thinks is a thieving ruffian who has no business talking about illegal activities, from her point of view? And even if she is, then what? Is she going to simply abandon something she believed in for so long, on a whim of her hated enemy? Where will she go? Join him on a merry-go-around and abandon all semblance of order in her life just like that?
The easy answer might be "try to change it from the inside", but good luck with that. She isn't an executive, isn't a CEO, isn't anybody with real power. Like in real life, the corporation will swallow her long before she accomplishes any real change.
I mean, you try walking over to a T-Mobile employee or something and tell them of all the company's ills... then see if they're going to join your revolution. Employees are just employees. They aren't excecutives, aren't shareholders, aren't lobbyists, and aren't corporate pocket politicians. They don't make the rules and don't have a say in them.

Well, first, I think you're projecting a bit with the first thing.
And, well...I honestly think you're underestimating just how starved for representation a lot of people are.
Oh God! Natural light!Yeah, speaking as a lesbian Overwatch fan, having not just a character, but the mascot of the game be revealed to be a lesbian was incredible. Same for seeing a woman with Zarya's body type, as not many large women see themselves in media.
And I'm really wondering why everyone here seems to despise tumblr. You guys do realize the site is far from a monolith, right? I'm decently involved in it's Overwatch community, and it's actually pretty nice. The police Dva skin thing? Those assholes were called out within a day. People mostly spend their time joking about stuff like Sombra, Reaper and Widowmaker going to the mall together, or Ana and 76 embarrassing Pharah.
I see far more negativity here and on Blizzard's forums than I do on tumblr's Overwatch circles.

I have no strong opinion for Tumblr. My guess is that the Overwatch side of Tumblr might be not that bad but i don't know much personally.
The forums tho....my god that's shit show if there is one. Serious conversations are scarce and it always "Buff this" or "Nerf that" or "I got killed by this guy, nerf them" or "Blizzard never listens".
Like, the only place i'm comfortable about OW is either Reddit (If you find a discussion in the first place because place is infested with GIFS) or here.
Uni catYou're absolutely right. Judging Tumblr by a handful ridiculous complaints would be like judging this site by the DMoS pages.
Personally, I find that most of the Overwatch content to come from Tumblr are funny comics and don't really see the issue.

This song needs more love.I look at the Overwatch tag in tumblr to look for nice fanart, that's about it. Occasionally I see some cool stuff on my dash about the lore and all but that's only sometimes.
All the shipping drama and political correctness gone mad in there did sour things up a little for me but I'm not one to get too bothered by stuff like that.
That D.Va thing makes little sense anyway, because she would be in the South Korean police force, not the US one. Trying to apply sociopolitical issues in the US to another country is a bit ethnocentric, and it's even weirder since OW is set in a fictional future far removed from whatever's going on today.
And besides, she's a Bunny Cop, so maybe it's more a Zootopia reference.

Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectThere are some ideologies which consider a police force (insofar as an organisation consisting of people paid to enforce the law) fundamentally a bad idea for various reasons.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerThere's definitely a resemblance.◊

This song needs more love.I don't despise all of Tumblr, some of my favourite content creators originated there, so obviously yeah. But Tumblr has a massive systemic problem. The platform, like Twitter, just seems to attract those who feel like enacting a targeted mass harrassment campaign is the answer to any and all disagreements.
Just ask the Steven Universe creators, how many times they've been harrassed over personal relationships of technicolor space rocks. So while a lot of it is probably okay, there's always that "make a wrong step, draw a wrong character wrongly, disagree with someone's ship" landmine that'll explosively open a giant cesspool of bees.
And that's without getting into politics.
Agreed
I myself am on Tumblr and see/enjoy a lot of the good aspects daily, but I know there's definitely a lot of problems there.
Pretty much what Luminosity said. What I follow in Tumblr are mostly Symmetra-centric circle and most of them are decent. I think it's just me being overemotional...
And I've lost one friend who just blocked me because I stepped into a landmine and attempted a neutral POV towards a certain president Voldermort... Which is why I'm quite wary about Tumblr.
Also in terms of what Luminosity said about Lucio-Symmetra... probably you shouldn't underestimate how much people think values like justice and freedom are valued so highly that common sense gets stepped on to satiate the people's hunger for them. So yeah, that one thing about go merry-go-round with Lucio? Yes, they'll make her do that, because screw order, it's not good, freedom is where it's at and it's never wrong. (This is from what I observe in Tumblr)

After a long pause I played competitive again. 5 matches. Not a single one without toxicity. Holy hell.O_o
It's worse than I remembered.
You sure you are playing the same game?
I for once am starting to enjoy playing D.Va again.
Uni catPretty sure he is. I have experienced that many consecutively before.
Oh, then ignore what i said. I'm struggling a lot in diamond and it's hard to not find toxic people.
On another note, i find this comic cute◊ (And kind of sad)
Uni catYou know that u are a healer main when you can spot the mistakes of your team healer as Tracer and Blink back to bail them out =.=. Play a game last night on Oasis and we have a proclaim "Ana main" who, while has decent aim, is horrendous at positioning, timing, Sleep Dart, call out and Ult, forcing me as Tracer to sometime drop pursuing my kill to Blink back and protect her because we're planning to Nano our Genji, Rein or Soldier. And he is incredibly toxic when I ask him to let me play her because I "have less hour on Ana". We barely win the last round after the Ana rage on comm after being flanked for poor positioning due to a clutch Self-Destruct to zone the enemy out of the objective.

That moment when you hook a Mccree out of a Zarya ult by reflex and interrupt his instant flashbang by pretty much outright deleting him from existence with a single shot.
Sure, that works.
but HOW?Oh fuck, yes.
FINALLY got the 4-person Resurrection achievement!
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I got my final Uprising Lootbox. It of course disappointed me. 3 grays, most of which were dupes, and one blue.
Wait when is this event ending?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Tomorrow.
Oh man, playing as Reaper is great.
It feels particularly great when Genji charges into my direction with the Dragonblade on. Oh you are dashing towards my direction? "Well, you are 200 HP with 120 melee damage. I'm 250 HP with up to 280 melee damage. Let's dance." So far I've never been killed by a Genji. This is cathartic because I've been playing healers for so long (even in this second account, my main is Lucio) and got sliced by Genjis so many times.
Now, Soldier and Mccree....yeah, they give me some trouble, all right.
Also, today I played four games and won all of them. In one game, I was playing as Reaper and there was this one Ana who are so dedicated in healing me. Every time my health got healed up fully, I would tap "Thanks" button. In fact, I do that to ally healers all the time when I play as Reaper. I gotta be one of the most grateful, appreciative Reaper players ever.
There's something funny and sad about that, considering the lore.
