Don't say you are going to kill the guy who owns the site... idiot.
If the comments on that article are anything to go by, this is far from the developer's first unprofessional moment. There's someone claiming the guy has a history of harassing other devs, for one thing.
"He's a detective that breaks all the rules. She's an officer consumed with revenge. Together, they're... fired. They're awful cops."Good ol twitter.
Sad thing is: I hear the game's not even that bad.
People need to learn how to use these sites. I don't just run off to Facebook and post angry shit every time someone or something pisses me off. If I did, I'd have a page full of day after day of it, and probably be out of work myself for being so negative on there.
"I am going to kill gabe newell. He is going to die."
Warning: This poster is known to the state of California to cause cancer. Cancer may not be available in your country. Why even take it out on Gabe? He probably had nothing to do with anything.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectReally hard to feel sorry for this dude. Lashing out loudly and making death threats doesn't work in any type of work environment, the videogame community included.
well, that was stupid.
i dont really blame steam for cutting ties with the guy; he crossed a line and showed he couldnt act professional.
at the same time, i get the feeling the cutting of ties was not because of "hostile tweets" but because of "hostile tweets aimed specifically at steam" and also at the same time, i kinda feel twitter is not the place to get your material when you decide whether or not to condemn people. everyone says dumb things, especially on twitter. its not necessarily a window into the soul and while he definitely needs some kind of reprimand the possibility he's ruined his career over a few comments made in a decidedly unhinged mindset is kinda weird.
...well, then again i wouldnt feel the same about phil fish so maybe if the guy has like a history of stupid belligerance outside of twitter- maybe in steam- i would be fine with it.
The creators are apparently known to be arrogant and abusive fucks in general, also towards their fans, on their own fora. So, no big loss, I guess.
A shame about the game, though. It seemed to shape up quite nicely. I was torn between this and Heavy Bullets, and bought the latter.
Fear the cinnamon sugar swirl. By the Gods, fear it, Laurence. The moral of this story: it doesn't matter how good your game is if you're a jerk. Don't be a jerk.
I'm the guy who knows how to make games but doesn't. 3DS FC: 2878-9776-7579i'm really tempted to say it
i really am
And then there was silenceSay what, exactly?
And this is why you don't say things on Twitter when you're in a bad mood.
Yeah. Twitter really isn't a place to... let off Steam.

Oh really when?Oh, but I bet he was just so angry. He must have hammered that keyboard in a blind seething rage and just couldn't control announcing stupid things on Twitter.

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Mistakes were made.
And I'd say the fact that he aimed it directly at them is worse. Think of it this way, if you went up to your boss one morning and went on an angry tirade about the company and then threatened to kill him, would you expect to still have a job the next morning?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. And this is why a respectful email of "Excuse me, you put my game on Early Access but it's actually the final version" would have been a much better option. Idiot.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.well no i wouldnt expect it.
what i was getting at is that i dont think his game would be taken off just for making death threats had it not be aimed directly at steam.
as in, "they wouldnt care but then he had to make it about them."
Things like this make me glad I do Facebook instead.
Employers still look people up on Facebook, and they can pay to look behind your privacy settings
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.i wanna say it
i wanna say it
but its forbiddeneded
And then there was silence
Sigh...
