So that's the downside. I have a sneaking suspicion that these are permanent, at least for the moment. And it's particularly ironic for Itsuki. Guess Karin did luck out there. Fu and Togo are actually looking into this. Once again, Togo is a true patriot. The Hero Club is kind of lame with only 3 people. Karin is sticking around.
Next episode is going to be the deciding factor. If anything horrible happens, it's going to happen then.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Actually being temporary would probably count as a twist
I was thinking that about episode 5, but then episode 6 went right back to being creepy
I have no idea what to think of this show.
Could anyone understand what Togo was saying besides the deflection? There must have been something that would tell a little more what kind of society Age of Gods Japan is.
Because there some blatant psuedo-military trappings here. Especially the ending narration they were doing, let alone Karin and the physical damage sustained.
Maybe they get free high quality health care.
There's not much there. The only part that stood out was the mention of Yamato mythology
Togo said something about "Shinsei-era", I think. Which isn't one of the japanese eras we known of "heisei, etc". Maybe Shinju-sama actually rules them?
I suspect there in some sort of pocket-universe/closed space/virtual world/witch barrier/closed colony/etc sustained by Shinju-sama. I'm not sure there is a whole lot outside the city. The place they go when fighting might actually be the outside or something. It's clear something is up. heck, I wouldn't be that surprised if the entire world was virtual and the girls were the only real people in it, with Shinju being the AI caring for them.
I was honestly half expecting Togo's problem to be leg related and her being all, "Welp, I lucked out!"
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimLike losing one of them?
...That would be difficult to watch.
Nah, more like one of them not working.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimEither vision or taste would be worst. Vision since that would make it really difficult and dangerous to drive especially and make everything else inconvenient. Though Fu doesn't need to drive and at least she gets to be a chuuni now. But losing your taste probably really is like being only half alive.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Well, how would she know then?
I guess they all lost what they don't use. Itsuki never talks, Togo never listens, Fu isn't perceptive and Yuki has no taste.
That's mean.
Huh.

"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimI thought we have a trope page for that?
Episode 6:
- Sensory problems, the price for activating Mankai. Especially ironic in Itsuki's case.
- Well, at least this gave Fuu a chance to act delusional for a bit of fun.
- I was just as lost as Yuuna when Togo started talking. But, Togo really is patriotic.
- To find a missing Karin, check the beach. ...Anyway, Karin felt as though she lost her purpose. Good thing Yuuna's around, eh?
- And so, the Hero Club can finally sit back and relax. Good for them. They earned it.
*Sigh*. I must keep my guard up, though.
EDIT: Just realized something. It's...kinda cool that the powers they had was just temporary. I mean usually, the powers are kept for the long term, but not here. Still, no more Gyuukinote makes me a little sad. Liked its derp face.

The page uses Yuuki Yuuna, with two U's.
I was reading comments on this latest episode at another forumnote when I saw a very interesting theory concerning Togo. Here's what it says:
Dark_Will said: After reading your comment, I got a feeling that if this is true, it may explain why Tougou has 3 spirits instead of 1 at the start.
Maybe Tougou was fighting the Vertexes in the past and used Mankai twice before she lost her memories due to her second Mankai effect. Her loss of legs could be due to her first Mankai use... From this episode, it was seen that their phones were taken away after the fight with the Vertexes presumed ended. When they are needed again, the app will be available to them and a new spirit may be created along with their existing ones. As such, just maybe Tougou is a veteran Vertex fighter but forget about it all...The Taisha may have made up the story of her being in a car accident since I feel that the Taisha is hiding quite a number of things...
Well, that is all just a theory I thought of but that can only be true if the Mankai effect is permanent...(I really hope it is temporary instead but I doubt it is from the amount of foreshadowing in this episode...)

That's a real possibility, and really messed up. o_o
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I've heard that one before too. Makes me wonder what else she was fighting if true, and when did she start.
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimWell that's a sound theory, although I'd attribute the 'three spirits' to the fact that Togo is the only survivor out three (the characters we saw in the prequel novel) and the two spirits which lost their master migrated to Togo's app.
That would imply some rather large scale memory modification. The whole world feels kinda off to me. I wonder if the girls are the only real ones and they are actually in the matrix or something.
I don't think this story need any miracles.
