I recently went back and started Kajitsu again. I'm already finished with Sachi's route, which is still a favorite, and I decided to go for Makina's next because it's pretty good storywise.

...I really need to get the Steam one, the 17+ one without the H scenes. They were weird the first time around, but this time it's just beyond creepy. Can't handle the H.

I shouldn't have deleted my saves - looking back, revisiting Makina's ending without doing the whole route seems like a better option than clicking through Makina macking on Yuuji while he talks about how tounge-kissing his "daughter" is awakening his parental instincts. Jesus.

I finally sat down for long enough to finish Makina's story. I got to see the bad end, and god it sucked. Not that it was bad, it was just eeally damn depressing - it was well done, making it the opposite of the good ending with the garbage bag that may have Yuuji's corpse in it and Makina being pregnant was that much more depressing, it was rough to sit through. How the hell is she going to raise that kid with her state of mind? It hurts.

Again - H scenes were weird, which is a shame because Makina's story is one of my favorite stories in the game. It arguably sheds the most light on Yuuji's past and that of Asako until Meikyuu, and Makina's grief and mindset is one of the most surprising and rough in the game. But it's not something I can recommend to my weeb friends because of the loli.

I don't know who I'll do next - if I'm playing the routes based on personal preference, I think Yumiko will be next.

Oh, and also - I recently looked up the Grisaia kickstarter, and their monthly update for October mentioned that the Meikyuu translation might be done by November. Not necessarily released during November, but it might be finished in November and released before the end of the year. I hope so, anyway. And apparently they're making some headway on the Vita port of Kajitsu, they say that getting the game put onto the PSN is a pain in the ass but they're getting there.

Recently bought Meikyuu on steam. Admittedly overpriced but I've waited 3 years for this so might as well. Started with Makina's route since it's always been my favorite. Got a bit surprised that Kiyoka is alive since I considered the anime version of her route my personal canon. Would've been better had Makina put a bullet through her head but well, scaring her shitless is good enough although I'm a bit disappointed nothing seemed to have happened from Ichigaya having dirt on the Irisus

I have a question regarding the series' character page. Since this is a trilogy, should the character page be upgraded to cover all three of the visual novels? Because it seems kinda weird to have only one for the first VN and then make separate ones for the other two.

I did it like that because of spoiler reasons. For example, in Kajitsu you don't know what happened to Kazuki and thus it's a heavy spoiler, while in Rakuen it's not only taken for granted that you know, but you're also supposed to realize that she's the Thanatos system and thus not really dead. So either you leave a bunch of spoilers unmarked or you spoiler a solid two thirds of the page, which I find frankly irritating.

Also, opening what you think is a spoiler for Kajitsu only to learn something from two VNs down the line is probably quite annoying.

Edit: I don't remember why Rakuen doesn't have a page though. Maybe I got bored or something? I didn't really like Rakuen.

[up] Ah, I understand. If it's to avoid major spoilers, then I can see why you made this decision, so it works.

I find it creepy. She's got all sorts of mental issues with her dad, then wants to call Yuuji dad and then they sleep together? Ewww.

The route itself has a fair number of fans. I thought it was okay. I don't think there's a real consensus on the routes except that nobody likes Yumiko's.

I liked Yumiko's route. I think. Been a while.

[up] How can you be so sure if you liked Yumiko's route? I suggest you read it again just to be sure that you really liked it. Yumiko's next on my list anyway.

No, I'm not forgetting. I wouldn't even care about that if the normal emotional relationship wasn't present. But if you don't understand why I find it creepy then I don't think anything I say will change your mind.

Yumiko is probably my favorite Grisaia girl and I didn't find her route that bad. Just that a lot of people don't like it.

I find the relationship creepy but while I don't like her that's not the reason why. She's just kind of unpleasant.

She's my least favourite character as well. I'm awful at telling how old a person is by how they look, and anime style doesn't help, so I usually go by what maturity they display in their dialogue and actions. Makina is a small child in my eyes.

Nah. She's one of the least popular girls but she's got her fans. It's not like Tsubame in Majikoi. I'm not sure I've met anyone that likes her despite her popularity in Japan.

Makina's route is uncomfortable to play for the sheer fact that you're plowing a loli - a character designed to look like a little girl, have childlike mannerisms and who calls you her father but wants more than just that - but dismissing that for a second, her actual storyline is one of my favorites. The whole ruthless corporate family thing, and how messed up everything gets, is pretty great. Yuuji's aversion to guns, slow descent into insanity and final conflict with a gun pointed at Makina's mother's head was one of my favorite parts of the game.

Yumiko had a pretty good route as well. It wasn't my favorite, but the events that take place are pretty hype and it has a very stirring epilogue.

Have you found that the vast majority of people hate her and think that the series would be better off if she was removed, and no significant number of people who like her or just don't care?

So why are you suggesting she's The Scrappy? Have you actually read that trope?
