Well, it does say that there is content they could use for the anime and it's only stalled because the director's busy. Which means that if his schedule gets cleared up enough, we'll probably get season 2.

Then get another director.

[up] They probably don't want to I guess. In the first place, this is an anime original I believe, so if the show is to be believed, then the director handles the storyboard. It wouldn't be very good to switch "authors" between seasons.

Gu P was amazing, this was amazing, both had the same director and I don't believe it's a coincidence. This director's gold, if we're getting more Shirobako then I want it from him.

I got two minutes into it before my eye starting twitching as a result of bland damage. Interesting from a meta standpoint but nothing special as it's own thing.

[up]

Apparently Mizushima has enough storyboards for at least 3 OVA episodes of '"Aerial Girls Squad", and would definitely want to do more, but as the Shirobako staff said, he's booked for a few years... So yeah.

Also, definitely a mix of Area88 and Takeshi Nogami's own Shindenkai no Maki.

As per Yuyucow, as usual:

Shirobako week1 sales: vol1 - 5.7k v2 - 8k v3 - 10.8k v4 - 11.2k v5 - 13k v6 - 13.2k v7 - 13.9k STILL. INCREASING.

Only one vol left for it to achieve the miracle of ever-increasing first weeks. Averaging over 15k is a sealed deal too, damn great numbers.

So yeah, PA Works is actually just making excuses at this point, as this is their bonafide hit in like, forever.

Sanjou done in Takeshi Nogami's own style (those familiar with both Girls und Panzer Ribbon Warrior AND Shindenkai no Maki will recognize the eyes), plus promo done in the vein of Area88.

Hilariously, that same takoubon was released by Takeshi Nogami himself for Summer Comiket 2015, and what's more, it's published as if it was done entirely in-universe. Heck, even the author is listed as "Takezou Nogame" and there's even an advertisement for Sailor Suits and F3s in the back cover. XD

P.S. If anyone's noticed, I split off sections on the main site for the OV As, but I've gotten so busy at work that I haven't been able to fill them in. I'll gladly look into the Exodus OVA again, but if someone could also help with Sanjou, I'd be very thankful.

Just binged this show and was moved and loved it like I can't even believe. Immediately had the urge to own it on Blu-Ray but at least one Amazon review says it's a low quality release (Maybe it was his setup??). Crunchyroll runs terribly on my laptop for some reason even though Blu-Rays play just fine so I may go ahead and buy anyway.

Has anyone here seen the BD? Go any screens to show? Any news of some re-release at some point? Also how do I handle these intense emotions?!?!?

Edit: By the way, I'm referring to these Sentai releases, not the japanese ones.

An entirely new movie, I think the tweets confirm. Here's hoping they don't just mean a re-animated version of the first season, because that would be a waste of everyone's time and resources.

It's been fun.

They said this is new material that will continue the story.
