So, I know that this new movie, Guardiands of the Galaxy, is all the rage now, and though I haven't seen it, I believe that it's a good movie. But when I look at the image in Army of Thieves and Whores, all I, as a person unfamiliar with the movie, see is a bunch of humans and aliens in leather clothes, who are staring at me with confused looks. Caption says that they are, actually, a group of thugs, but without aid of caption the image fails to show both "thieves and whores" part and "army" part.

At best looks like a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits. Doesn't seem to illustrate the trope, though, since I see neither a military force nor the lowlifes it supposedly consists of.

The Guardians of Galaxy image may work for Ragtag Bunch of Misfits better than the current image for that page, though, because I don't see Santa & his underlings as an example of the trope.

Blazing Saddles, which provides the page quote, might be able to provide a good picture. I know they show a few good shots of the numerous criminals and Methodists that they recruit.

Yeah, the current image on this page is prolly better off in Ragtag Bunch of Misfits.

How flexible is this trope? I think the night watch (the capital city's police force, made up of a ragtag group of lowlifes) from Discworld could make for a good illustration if they count as an example. Here's a nice picture of them.

This implies, quite correctly, that my mind is dark and damp and full of tiny translucent fish.

[up] That's not an example, neither in the book it's from, nor in the painting that it's based on.

The way I see it, Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits is the scaled down, non-lethal form of Army of Thieves and Whores. Guardians of the Galaxy is most certainly a lethal example, as they end up fighting the Big Bad's army near the end of the film. Also, they certainly don't look like a bunch of misfits in that picture.

Honestly, I think the Guardians pic is a better fit for Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits than its current pic.

Reclocking this one to get votes: Move this pic to Rag Tag Bunch Of Misfits, replacing that page's current? I say [tup].

Clock is up and we have some agreement, so the change is done; locking up.
