Extra-long chapter this week, and boy what a chapter.
I hadn't noticed the first time that Akane literally IMPALED Shirayuki. Ouch. Also, could it be that Akane inadvertently gave Shirayuki her powers after she made a sugary dish?
Badass Youko is badass.
Yeah, that was pretty sweet. I think it's pretty clear at this point that the point wasn't to prevent Youko from revealing herself, but for her to be comfortable enough with herself to be willing to tell everyone on her own terms rather than just trying to ignore it and having it explode at the worst possible time.
Reaction Image RepositoryChapter 189! (…seriously, no one to comment on 188…?) This is the end, my friend. All that's left is the (long) epilogue. With a last little twist. "You're super light! And why is your body so cold?" That's why, Youko, that's why.
Yep, that's the logical conclusion. The only question now is… Won't they kinda be back to square one once they graduate?

Yeah, the twist about Shirayuki is something nobody saw coming.
The beginning is Masuda's classic mood whiplash. This entire chapter was so heartwarming.
Man, this manga never fails to bring the laughs and the feels. I kinda dropped it for a while because I wanted to have a backlog to read through instead of waiting chapter-to-chapter, but I'm just glad to read it regardless.
I'm gonna miss it when translations are done.
Yeah, this whole chapter is pretty much consummate Jitsu wa. From the heartfelt moments, to the massive moodwhiplash humor, to the entire barrage of Title Drops. Pretty much the only thing it's missing is a random Nightmare Face.
It's so surreal thinking that it's almost over already.

Reaction Image RepositoryIt's really been 3 years, Christ. It's gonna be weird to say goodbye to the series. I dropped off, but I'm gonna catch up now that it's almost done.

"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Chapter 190◊… I'm not crying goddammit, you're crying…
(also, there's a guy with a deer mask, for some reason)
Dammit I came here to laugh, not to feel. Man, I'm going to be legitimately bummed out that this is over, but at the same time it's been a thoroughly satisfying ending so I can't complain. At least not until we actually run out of content, anyway. That said, IT'S A SCAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMM.
Reaction Image RepositoryChap 191!
Yeah, that moment where Genjirou hypnotized the journalists? T'was foreshadowing.
Also, Shiho has long legs. Damn.

Clearly the darkest timeline
I can't say I'm surprised that the CPII ended up being Youko; I had kinda narrowed it down to either her or Nagisa, but we already have a future Nagisa running around. At least the alternate timeline got a somewhat happy ending, I guess. Though of course Rin didn't actually leave. No surprise there.
Reaction Image RepositoryHonestly, the sequence with Rin storming the castle with her friends reminds me very heavily of Castlevania. Just having a castle should have been a hint for Rin!

Akane: Drama Resolver Extraordinaire
The absence of that reference anywhere in the series is an eternal disgrace. =[
Chapter 192: warmth, fluff and a Sakura Discord cameo. And yet another horrible secret revealed. Rin is a Chuuni. Literally.
Not sure if I find Youko's new haircut kinda cool or ridiculous…
This chapter was pretty cute. Really serves as a breather after all the dramatic crap that just happened. Love how Youko actually managed to get one over on Akane.
Reaction Image RepositoryThus, all is well that ends well.
Small correction, as we were call out on it: yes, Yuka is a high school FRESHMAN, not a junior. I was pretty sure "junior" meant 1st year, but it turns out it doesn't. So, sorry about that.
Do you mean in reference to American high schools, or Japanese? I can never keep the equivalencies straight.
Reaction Image RepositoryI don't even know myself… Since there's only 3 years in Japanese high school, it would be freshman-sophomore-senior. I guess. Maybe.
Chapter 193: Daddy learns the news. I'm more interested in knowing who's that guy with the glasses though.
What age would a Japanese high school grad be? We could work backwards from there.
Also, Genjirou took the news surprisingly well. That's honestly about the best reaction you could hope for when the news is "yeah I kinda got your daughter pregnant." And I love how Akane is actually trying to make him angrier. It's also really cool to see how Genjirou and Asahi get along. Not bad for a character who basically started out as an Overprotective Dad joke.
Reaction Image RepositoryIf I'm not mistaken, grade school is between 6 and 12 yo, middle school between 12 and 15, and high school between 15 and 18.
As for Gen… You'll notice that it took a couple hours to calm him down (look at the pillar's shadow) and that he trashed the house in the process. So, yeah, he took it as well as you could expect.
Okay, so taking 18 as graduation age, we get:
18=Senior=High School
17=Junior=High School
16=Sophomore=High School
15=Freshman=Middle School
So it looks like the main discrepancy is that what the Japanese would consider as the last year of middle school would be Freshman year (first year of high school) in an American system. No idea how either of those would map to how Europe does it, which I'm going to guess varies from country to country anyway.

Reaction Image RepositoryIn France that's:
Grade school > CP, CE1, CE2, CM1, CM2 (11yo)
Middle school > 6ème, 5ème, 4ème, 3ème (15yo)
High school > Seconde, Première, Terminale (18yo)
…That's pretty much the same division as Japan, except our first year of middle school is their last year of grade school. So Rin would be in Quatrième and Yuka in Seconde.

Well, yeah, but Her and her future self aren't quite the same. And yeah Shirayuki should've known better than to leave all that right there. Unless her goal was to taunt Akane, which would be in character.
