...Is he fucking serious?

Lucas wasn't pleased about what Ayers said. At all. He worked hard to get into Beacon, and he was already having enough doubts of his abilities without Ayers not-so-subtly implying that he needed Carol to help him with what he was here at this school to do.

However, he knew that calling Ayers out here, while they should be paying attention to the briefing, was not a good idea. So he just glared at Ayers quickly – it still felt weird to be able to do that again – and then looked away as the conversation about Mia and Arcana continued.

"Rebecca West mentioned that it was a betrayal by Alexandros that drove the family to join Arcana," Lucas responded. "And the abduction and abusive experimentation of one’s only daughter is certainly an unforgiveable betrayal. As for getting in contact with her, during midwinter Becky managed to contact me via Priestess’s scroll. I still have the number saved in my contact list."

"...regardless of what her motivations might be, I do not think a terrorist that has tried to kill us before is a credible source of information." Hope grunted, shuffling a bit on her wheelchair. "She would accuse him of being the one responsible for Grimm if she could."

"The only thing that comes to my mind..." Gray-hair's gaze shifted towards Charisse. "DNA tests. If we could confirm that Mia is indeed Alexandros and Empress' kid, we'd have hard evidence that ties him to Luna."

"I...I need to think about this. I'm not...not ready to deal with this." Mia said, voice trembling with emotion. And with that, the ghost girl vanished into Charisse's mind. Deep into Charisse's mind, so that the other girl could not reach her inside there.

Alice sighed heavily. "You're missing the point, Hope. This isn't merely a theory. It's fact. Confirmed by the databases recorded by the kingdoms. Marianne West and Max Alexandros were married. They had a daughter. They divorced. The daughter was put in her father's custody. All information available to the public, and is in no way proof that can link Max to Luna. Records say that Mia is dead. Max can simply claim that his daughter vanished and that he had nothing to do with it."

"Furthermore, even if we needed a DNA test, which we do not, we can't. Mia's body has long been destroyed. What DNA?"

"...what do you mean, "destroyed"?" Hope wanted to continue, but then realized that in hindsight, she's probably the one in the wrong at the end of this debate.

"...nevermind that. Well... what do you suggest then? If you can't tie him to Luna in any way, there is nothing we or anyone else can do." She rubbed her temple, irritated. This was going nowhere. "That shipment of weapons might be legal as well."

Medus scratched his head. "Well this is a bit of a conundrum. Part of the problem is that Maxy has the best lawyers in the world on his side. I mean they'd discount anything not caught on film..." The rocker paused. "Actually, why haven't we gone in wired any time we assumed Max was involved? Seems like an oversight on our part. And how is he hiding the funding he gave Luna? No matter how much he launders the money, the trail still has to exist."

"He has a ton of money, as far as I'm concerned." Hope briefly shifted her eyes on Lucas. It was weird seeing him... well, with actual eyes, so to say.

She hasn't tried her own prosthetic on yet.

"...maybe we should try and pursue Arcana first?" She suggested, looking back at Alice. "If Empress really is Max's wife, we could presumably get some more info out of them... and while we wait, he might make a mistake on his part. Someone with an ego that big is bound to get arrogant sooner or later."

"H-Hope..... I saw her visit Mia's grave..... Y-You don't do that for some one you do not know...." Imuka replied, with her ears pinned by this point.

"I got a better solution." Ayers clanged his fists together. "Y'all city-folk ain't got no ideer a how real justice works. Hwut we got to work on now, we oughta write'm down, then present'em to Max ourselves, then walk up to'im'n kill'im, no cops, no jury and executioner 'sides us." He pointed to Lucas. "Lucas can snipe folks in any conditions, same as Remus, and Alice can look at a feller funny and spray they brains all over the wall. Stormer can do them Ee-eye things so fast we don't see his sword move." He leaned back in his chair and flipped his hat up. "I dunno why yer actin' like y'all ain't well-armed enough to take a fort on yer lonesomes."

"Because unless we have proof that Alexandros is truly guilty of those crimes, we'll be incarcerated for attempted murder at the very least," Lucas said, glaring at Ayers once more. "At worst, Mistral will take it as an act of war. Are you willing to take that risk, Ayers?"

"Yes on both a them counts." Ayers replied to Lucas. "Y'all think Mistral'd make this a political thing if'n it's jus' private citizens killin' some of theirs? Second of all, we can find out he wuz a bad guy after we kill'im, so's he ain't doin' bad shit whiles we're tryna prove he's doin' old bad shit, y'know?"

"...great. Since our best idea apparently is frontier justice I vote that we forgo trying to tamper with Alexandros at all for now and focus on Arcana." It... really annoyed her, this stance of Ayers. It wasn't the first time he went ahead with something genuinely inappropriate - not to say stupid - and nobody offered any stance on it, beyond Lucas.

"Because yes, unless you want these arms taken away from you it's probably best to not plan any criminal activity." She grunted, shaking her head at her team leader.

"Enough!" Medus tapped his semblance to temporarily out yell everyone in the room. The rocker pinched the bridge of his nose. "How about this: Before we have any more debate on vigilante activities or who to go after first, let's hear all the damn information. Because until we've heard all if all we're doing is getting sidetracked." He explained as calmly as possible.

"Okay? Facts, then debate. Everyone okay with that?"

"I still think we should kill him." Charisse muttered, crossing her arms but not entering the argument. Maybe it was Mia's anger influencing her, maybe it was her already pre-existing disposition towards killing those she deemed "evil", or perhaps she felt that Alexandros's mere existence was an affront to the security of her homeland.

Whatever it was, she shared Ayers's sentiment wholeheartedly. She would leave Mia to sulk for now, then she would return to see how she was doing in the evening; Mia would need to ruminate on this newly found information for a while.

Ozpin's Office

Ai crouched down on the floor, flattening her ears with her hands to block out the sound of Medus's shouting. She winced and cracked one eye open.

"Yep, sounds like a plan," she said, weakly.

She stood up.

"I think we should ruin him. Turn everyone against him. Take away his toys and leave him with nothing. Then, we rub it in the smug son of a bitch's face," she said, strangely eagerly (only partially because she was trying to gloss over what Charisse just said). She looked around. "What? I can be vindictive, too."

Ozpin's Office

Remus shook his head at the argument. "I just want to say this: Is everyone forgetting what we are? We're hunters. Defenders of this world. And sometimes, its part of a hunter's job to act through the shadows. If we need destroy grimm, you hand us a sword, if you want us to make peace, you give us a laurel, if someone unforgivable MUST be killed, you hand us a sniper rifle and put us in the shadows. That is how our existence has been determined. This is what we signed up for." He pulled out a piece of peppered jerky, ripping off a piece of it. "If you guys don't understand that, then I'm not sure why you're in this school." He popped the jerky into his mouth and started to chew.

Imuka just kinda pinned her ears and slinked backwards, not at all enjoying the argument around her, not only out of her pacifisim, but due to the fact they were describing Max as inforgivibavle.

She had heard him talk, explain what he wanted to do, and deep down, dispite what she had been through, she found herself agreeing with him, the need of the many vastly outweigh the needs of the few, and if he could really do what he wanted to, she could not find herself hating him any more, if her suffering helped others...

Well that is what she had dedictaed her own life too.... helping others.

She swayed around uncomfortably, wraped up in her own curled up tail, a discomfort visable to all, even if the exact reasoning behind it was not.

Grigori mused to himself. If that Alexandros guy was just as bad as they make him out to be, then he would cap him without a second thought, make him food for the Grimm. But, his confusion on the subject, coupled with a few agitated comrades made him think that breaking his spirit might be good enough.

He has heard of Maximilian Alexandros and his company before, but only on the news. He sounded like a brilliant man, yet there was something off about him. Now that he heard from his "daughters," he knew that something's gotta give.

"Except Maximilian Alexandros, as far as the public knows, is not unforgivable." Hope's nerves were about to run out. Medus' shouting didn't help matters. "By killing him, evidence or not, we will make things worse."

"He should be judged by law, harshly if may be, but not lynched." This time she glanced at the Queen herself. Yes, Her Majesty might have had her own personal agenda in all this, but Hope had hopes that at least she would see to it. If even Remus was advertising such brutal course of action... well, she feared for the mental state of the dorm.

Then she noticed that she was not the only one uncomfortable with this whole discussion. Slowly and carefully, she reached out to squeeze Imuka's arm, offering a reassuring smile.

"While I'm all for healthy, civil debate," Pius interrupted with a raised, declarative hand. "I think Her Majesties and the Headmaster would like for us to be informed and moving already, which could be accomplished if we could all just listen a little longer." He gestured to the small crowd of his fellow students. "Does that sound alright for now?"

Jack, shut up.

Jack sighed turning to the queen. "If you're done enjoying distinction junction here can you finally answer my damn question; Why not just arrest him if you know all this? I mean, Tyr! If this was the Wild Hunt, we'd have just challenged him to a trial by combat, beat his balls in and be done with it! So what's taking you so long?" He sounded irritated, confused and not in the least bit like he was talking to a Queen. More like a lazy fast food employee. "Just make a case against him in court! If you can't say any of his charges in public, just have a bunch of children say he touched them in their no-no place, army of lawyers or not, you're the fucking queen!"

Novus 8th, Ozpin's Office

Sechs had kept his head low for this discussion; he didn't really have an opinion on royalty, as his upbringing left him neutral on the subject. Instead, he listened, and waited.

Suffice to say, he wasn't pleased with several of the reactions. He rather felt like siding with the fox faunus off to the side; she was looking rather uncomfortable with this whole deal, as was he.

He coughed quietly and shuffled his feet a bit.

How damn hard was it to just do what needed to be done, anyway?

Office

Yun gave a brief glance to the other members of his team, taking their reactions into account. ...Looks like I'm not the only one wanting a change of topic... He thought to himself.

"I agree with Pius." Yun said slowly. "Let's hear what the Queen wants to say first. What we do with Alexandros is ultimately her decision."

"I appreciate the enthusiasm." Alice said blandly. "But the fact of the matter is, we don't have a usable weapon yet....unless we succeed in the mission on the tenth."

"We're going to intercept the weapons shipment. We confiscate the cargo. We record anything incriminating. And hell, if we find out what's the deal with Steiner seemingly coming back from the dead, all the better. As I said, Carol will be in this mission, due to her connection with Luna."

"Furthermore, we have a second lead. I mentioned earlier that Beth was busy with something else? It's Shane. He sent us a message. He is being targeted. By Arcana. He managed to repel their first assault, but we're sure they'll be back. And among those that attacked him? Marianne West."

Novus 8th - Ozpin's Office

He checked the clock. Right around this time, Geki knew his family would be preparing for tea.

To say that he was deeply uncomfortable with this shadow-play was an understatement. But then again, the Shirobara Clan were not averse to a little dirty work. In their lineage, more than a few had served as 'late night advisers' to the Crown. Even so, all this talk of acting away the gaze of the law sat ill with him.

But Hunters were the shield of the Kingdoms, Geki was not blind to this. No matter what the form of the threat, it was his duty to seek it out and meet it to the best of his, and his team's, abilities.

His face creased in thought and his hand to his sharp chin, Geki mulled over their options, focusing on the specifics and getting it "just so" in his head. "Concerning the second lead, we needs be aware that a second assault is usually of a probing nature, seeking where he is lightly-guarded, where he is vulnerable."

Ozpin's Office

Ai quietly listened to Alice, only interjecting after she finished announcing her plan to intercept the weapons shipment.

"And if there's anything incriminating in there we can catch him with his pants down in front of the entire world," she said, with a slight smirk. "Shut down his whole operation."

She went quiet again until the end of Alice's second announcement. Her tune changed quickly; though tempted by the need to obstruct Alexandros before he grew too powerful, this concerned Mia and easily took precedence.

"Now that's out in the open, I know where I'm going next," she said. She crossed her arms. "—And where Mia might want to go next, too. Mama Mari better have a good reason for this."
