Welp. Ended on a cliffhanger. Son of a gun.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! Also, Lucifer DID have a drop in quality this season. I blame it on dragging out the reveal to chloe. It should have happened last season finale, or maybe this season premier. Why do writers always feel the need to drag these plots out? I've yet to come across a series where it did something good.
You lost!Lucifer S3 is reminding me of Korra S1, in the sense that I ended up rooting for the season’s big bad to win.
I kinda get why Chloe annoys some fans. Cause... technically this show is Bible fanfiction with like Mary Sue OC making the devil fall for her.
Also, I rather like the Lucifer / Mazikeen ship in the comic, so... I do remember feeling a bit disappointed about that particular change years ago.
I don’t know... I just seem to have (too much) patience for this show. If another network picks it up, I’ll continue watching.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines. The plot dragging on makes total sense. We're looking at this as humans dealing with human characters, but we're not. We're dealing with angels and demons who, shall we say, aren't as mutable as we are. If change should happen for them at all, it's going to be slow. Fuck, the show's acting like this is the first time any of them fell in love with anyone, and how long have they been alive? Way too bloody long. Same reason the total plot makes little sense with the information we outright have. There's been Jesus hints on Chloe's side, sure, but those are just HINTS. Hell, wait, not even. MARY hints. Chloe was gifted to two people who weren't, before then, able to have kids. That's a Mary thing, not a Jesus thing.
Now I know none of this is likely to be intentional. The writers probably just don't do myth arcs very well. But it does accidentally make sense for the arcs to be this way.
Finally watched it. I already knew from you guys and my mom not to have high expectations, so I wasn't disappointed. It'll take time to form a full opinion on the matter, but honestly, I hated the show in the beginning. Us making our own decisions and being to blame for going to Hell is pretty much the Truth, as far as Hell being the truth at all. My problem was making the Devil an anti-hero, or even good guy at times. Tom Ellis is a wonderful actor, and I really warmed up to him. So at the very least I can thank the show for introducing me to a cast of great actors I can look for in the future.
Mind you, all it means is Judaism is true.
Lucifer being Samael in this reality.
A still-beloved tormentor of the damned versus a fallen enemy of God.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I disagree. There were plenty of moments in the series where they pushed the "Chloe finds out" angle, only to paddle back (mostly as ratings stunt, as if I would still believe any Promo wich claims that the secret will be revealed). Same with their relationship. Writers are so afraid to hit the Relationship Ceiling, that they tend to stick to the status quo.
Sidenote: The status quo needs to be hanged, drawn and quartered
A prime example of how to avoid this shit is Chuck. Because they thought they would be canceled multiple times during the run, the writers decided to advance the relationship of the alpha couple in the supposed series finales. And because they did not chicken out and hit the reset button once the next season came around, you can see a natural progression in their relationship during the series. It also brought other characters in on the secret one by one, without much drama about it or draggin.

You lost!Yes, but that's a Chloe thing. I was mostly talking about the outright angels and demons, which I specifically mentioned. Chloe had her growth moments, and her finding out moments, but she never really believed them because she didn't want to. Who would? You go out with a friend one day and you suddenly see them sprout wings or do something utterly otherworldly that shatters your world, you'd likely be in shock and disbelief too.

Silver lining, Fox is gonna show two episodes that were already produced for season 4.
You lost! Also there's a fight to save the show, even going as far as Tom Ellis reportedly talking to BBC about it. I don't know if anything came of that, I only know it was posted online.
Lucifer in London would be awesome.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Maze:"Lucifer, when I said I wanted to go to Hell I meant it literally not metaphorically"
Lucifer:"Shut up and pour Boris Johnson his drink, will take?"
"You can reply to this Message!"So, bonus episodes.
I liked the Ella one, they teased something like this multiple times, glad they had a plan for her. Too bad that we won'T see the rest of it though.
The What If? was okay, I guess. If it was broadcasted in the middle of a season like it was supposed to be, I wouldn't mind, but as a bonus it was a bit weak.
You lost!I loved the Ella one. I think it's cool that once again Death is a cute little woman. The What If wasn't even okay. It just plain sucked and felt lazy. They made all sorts of logic jumps that needed explained, and never bothered to explain them. Ella should have had her degrees in forensics long before Chloe was even a factor in her life. So why shouldn't she have been working with the LAPD? There's plausible reasons, but we kind of need stuff like that explained. And Linda? There was no indication that she was going for a TV job before meeting Lucifer. Honestly, the only three people I think they got right were Chloe, Charlotte, and Dan.
According to the wiki Chloe was 19 when she did Hot Tub High School. If alternate chloe became famous soon after it would fit. I was always under the impression that Ella is a bit younger than Chloe.
You lost!I guess it was the car part and not the cop part that inspired Ella then. Alright, that fits.
So glad this show got saved!
Improving as an author, one video at a time. But I don't have netflix. :'(
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Well, mabye the writers can use the fact that it's netflix and a 10 episode season to cut down on the filler and use the characters to their full potential.
You lost! Finally caught up with this. Did like the season finale (even though they drew it out too much), and the Ella episode implied they wouldn't hit the Reset Button (with Chloe being quick to believe that Ella can talk to a ghost). The What If? episode was both great and terrible. As a What If? it was a little meh, as there was too much stuff unexplained, too many references to the main timeline stuffed into one episode. But taken completely on its own it wasn't bad. Honestly I think I might have preferred a series completely about an actress trying to use her fake cop skills as a real cop, with help from the Devil. Give them both something interesting, instead of Chloe primarily just being the boring one.
When are the Netflix episodes dropping? Are they going to put the Ella episode in the middle of the season, or what?

I actually agree with both of your opinions. Loved the Ella episode, liked the "What If?" one, more for the direction it took rather than the actual "What if?" elements (plus: comics-accurate Mazikeen).
My understanding is that neither episode will be actually a part of next season, since they already aired on Fox. They were supposed to be a part of Season 4 had Fox not cancelled the show, but they did and aired them as kind of a post-script for the season.
The fourth season is set to be released in 2019. It's apparently going to be ten episodes, which I think is a good thing: the one bad thing the show has a problem with is filler.
I guess what I mean is I hope the Ella episode is still canon. It was a great character episode for her, and a nice reveal of Azrael. It can take place at pretty much any time after the season 3 finale, and Fox did air the episode, so it probably won't be an issue.
Oh, right. As far as I know, yes, the Ella episode is still canon. After all, it does introduce another member of Lucifer's family.

Different channels. Fox is notorious for fucking over good shows early in their run. Game of Thrones is on a premium channel and still has many millions of fans willing to watch.
