Does Not Illustrate: Just Between You And Me

The image fits the monologue part of the trope but is missing the rest. The situation is somewhat difficult to piece together out of context.

It's shaky, but I'm fine with it.

It does illustrate the point somewhat, so it's better than nothing.

Previous discussion, ftr. My suggestiom had support early on, but it didn't go anywhere.

I do like that pic from the old thread a lot better than the current. Here it is.

I think that pic works fine.

The current seems more of a realization than villainous monologing, so it doesn't really seen to an example. Even Cersei Lannister figured that once out. Plus, that ghost thing trying to heal the hero is awfully distracting. The hero can't even hear the monologue, so that's another reason it doesn't count. And the caption isn't helping because the image is not illustrating the dangers of the monologue.

I see a monologue at an apparently defeated opponent by an Obviously Evil guy, and while the villain is distracted the heroes seem to be acting a plan to heal their fighter.

I hate OOTS images and I'm sure we could do better, but this is certainly better than nothing and MUCH better than the MLP image.

In what way is it better?

Also, I should note that the trope isn't "Big Bad gets distracted by monologing, allowing the hero to act", it's "Big Bad decides to tell the hero his plan, despite there being no reason to do so other than gloating". The current image illustrates the former, but not the latter. It's the "explains the plan" aspect that's the core of the trope.

The current image doesn't seem very clear to me. The suggestion appears to be a Lampshaded subversion, but it's still an improvement, I think.
