Made this little thing. I'm probably going to regret putting in that theorized spoiler, but the character page was practically screaming it out to me.
Wow. I mean we've got trope pages for works that haven't aired yet but have already finished production or in the last stages of said production, but it's rare seeing pages for works this early in the process.
Yeah, that avatar's a 'Shop of my real face. That's because it's rare that so much information about a project is available from a reliable source that early in a project.
There was surprisingly a lot on the main website. Personally, I suspect that the shorts on their own are going to be self-contained, and the "real" plot against Evil Mcmustache guy and Veronica's kidnapped father is going to be saved for a feature film, should these shorts attract the Mouse's attention. This might means a significant amount of the footage in trailers might not be seen until then. But if we see them at last in a full movie, all the better!

Or any other investor....I hope that Disney is smart enough to pick this up (they are after all the company which went big on traditional animation and it is a little bit hard to keep up the claim that you have still an interest in the style when you overlook something like this), because they have the distribution channels necessary for a worldwide release with decent dub for all the relevant countries, but they are not the only ones who could do this project justice, though unlike some other companies (like Dream Works) they rarely succumb to executive meddling in independent projects. Disney would simply be the best option for a success, but not the only option.
One thing for sure, the speed with which the project has gained the money needed with more than a little surplus shows that there is still a lot of interest in traditional animation.
.... is anyone starting to think that the reason they keep meeting every one of their stretch goals is because they intentionally keep them at low costs? $300,000, for a full-blown short, isn't expensive at all when you compare it to a movie.
Depends on how long the short is.
Well, next stretch goal is unlocked, they have by now collected over 400% more than the minimum goal they had and have to think up a new stretch goal, because it's only one left and still a week to go. If this fails than certainly not because of lack of support from the public.
I wonder what their next stretch goal should be?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Fund the entire movie. All of it. See if they can raise 20 million dollars in one week.

Lol...
Most likely another soundtrack? I think one other stretch goal should be enough. The time is nearly over, after all.
So if Disney picked this up, would they just be distributing it but otherwise keeping their hands off it, kind of like what they did with '"The Brave Little Toaster''?
My tropes launched: https://surenity2.blogspot.com/2021/02/my-tropes-on-tv-tropes.htmlNot quite. The funding is to make shorts and raise attention, which shall then be pitched to possible distributors like Disney in hopes that they fund a full film. So if Disney picks this up, they will end up having a production hand in it.
It honestly depends...Disney usually has a fairly hands off approach to independent projects. Just look at stuff like "The brave little Toaster". But then, to get this out in a decent time, they would most likely insist on a collaboration with the animation studios, if for nothing else than for the technical effects. But you never know, there is always the risk that Disney tries to claim the project for it's own.
With another Studio...they might meddle or they might not. If there even will be a Studio. They might simply find an investor, produce it as independent movie and then distribute it somehow.

I just wouldn't want Disney to get too much control. I can't say I trust them, seeing how they've (mis)handled other 2-D projects of the past ten years.
My tropes launched: https://surenity2.blogspot.com/2021/02/my-tropes-on-tv-tropes.htmlWait, a movie being made by ex-Disney guys is being distributed by Disney? I'm confused o.O I don't whether to find this funny or strange.

Supports cartoons being cartoony!I don't think they're so much "ex-Disney" as they are "not currently with the company", seeing as many of them have worked on very recent films. I think only one of them calls themselves "former Disney", the rest are "veteran Disney". Meaning they're not splitting from the company a la Don Bluth, they're more asking the company for a favor.
, , : I just want the creators to be more independent. I am less and less for animation corporations.

The only difference is that Don Bluth just took a bunch of animators with him which were still involved in projects, while those are animators which got laid off by Disney. It's still an independent project, though with less hard feeling attached to it - which is exactly the reason why Disney might pick it up.
God forbid.
Next goal is a charm (hihi, I actually considered this as possible reward), but really they have to come up with something else, because that one is nearly reached too, and they have still six days to go.
Disney getting involved in it is not necessarily a bad thing, as long as the project itself stays largely independent. A working distribution network is important.

Do you think we can make it to 400k Stretch Goal in just 4 days?
Everything is Possible. But some things are more Probable than others. JEBAGEDDON 2016400...perhaps...500...I doubt it.
I've doubted before, but $400,000 isn't too ambitious, considering how well it's exceeded my expectations.
500,000 might be pushing it though.
