Pokken Tournament: A collaboration between Pokemon and the Tekken team

I'm rusty at this game. If anyone is up for friend battles at any time, do tell.

Shofu echoing what I said about this game being dead, more or less. I don't want it to be - it's a very unique little fighter with a mountain of potential, but they pretty much squandered it by letting it sit and letting the hype die for it.

Hopefully it'll get an NX sequel.

I do honestly really like Pokken, but I agree that it's basically dying or already dead. Which is a damn shame because the game is fun. But besides online, their isn't much replay value to the game since the Single Player stuff is really shallow(even compared to Smash 4's weak side content) and we know nothing about any DLC plans if they even have any.

I'm hoping that running out of hype so quickly won't be a detriment to there being a Pokken 2. Because I did enjoy the demo and was seriously considering buying the game... I think it could make for a decent fighting series. not that I play those much.

We already know that Scizor and Empoleon are coming, as well as the already revealed Darkrai. The main problems are that Pokken tourneys are kind o\of a hassle to set up locally, and the FGC is still pretty biased against arena fighters period, despite the splash made at Evo. (Putting Pokken next to Melee at the same times was a big mistake, evo this year was very misorganized in general)

Tourney Locator's Synergy weeklies are still ongoing, at least.

Pokken will last as long as there are people who want to play (probably enough in the short run) and TPC is interested in sponsoring it (likely for at least another year). But yes, the slow updates are lame.

I guess another annoying thing is the fact that the TPC has been super quiet about promoting Pokken tourneys, even their own. I remember shofu saying one tourney has a $10,000 prize pool and had only 79 entrants at the time.

Should we hold a troper tournament?

Might take some major organizing due to time zones and RL schedules though.

BTW, don't remember if we had this discussion, but who so far is your favorite to play as?

I dont have the game or a wii u, but I am a huge fan of Chandelure's playstyle.

Weavile. I like rushdown and he's got so much crazy stuff going on between Icicle Crash tech and Agility based stuff. It's also the cutest Pokemon in this.

Honestly haven't put much time into anyone else.

Weavile and Garchomp. They just feel so right to play.

Braixen is my fave. Just feels fun to play and I honestly never would had thought that beating up dragons, land sharks and lab experiments with a Cute Witch Magical Girl would be so goddamn hilarious. Plus lookit the adorabubble little fox! Bet it's softer than a kitten!

The whole evo thing is both amusing and off putting at the same time...

I've also tried out Lucario a bit, but he just feels different to control. Like more... rigid? I dunno how to describe it. Lack of an air dash doesn't help either, as I sometimes try to do it out of reflex. Damn You, Muscle Memory!!

I haven't played since... before the first patch, even, but I remember enjoying Chandelure a lot. I needed to get better about properly using Minimize, though~

Sadly, the Gamepad is bust at the moment so I'm not sure how to log on to the Wii U in the first place.

You just use any other controller? Even a Wiimote works.

Not sure if you can play Pokkén with a Wiimote though...

So far, I've only been able to play the demo, but I can say that Gengar is probably my favorite from the characters I've been able to play as. (I really want to try playing as Suicune, Sceptile, and Braixen though...)

Sceptile's definitely my favorite, with Braixen a close second.

Weavile is definitely my fave
