Long ago, the Seven Angel Lords looked down onto Earth and noticed something wicked: Monsters born from the souls of man, crippling the spiritual beings of others. Such wretchedness they could not abide, so in response to these Dark Imaginations selected humans were empowered to slay them. Having slayed Dark Imaginations for several centuries, these blessed humans have taken many names in their endless goal of protecting humanity from the darkness of their own hearts.

So going over all my previous R Ps, I have come to the conclusion I turn people away by making the RP sound uninteresting, boring or stupid. Thus I'll just be pretty open with the "twists" and "reveals" for this: First, the Dark Imaginations (shortened to Darima) were originally created by the Angels (the closest thing to divinity and gods there) as a means of destroying the "evil" traits of a person so as to create "a perfect world". The Darima were created as self-propagating to an extent, nibbling on people's positivity so they could tear out their "darkness" easier. However, having created the Darima by removing the negativity of deceased souls (due to being unable to outright create life from nothing) and not actually expecting any of them to last long they were unprepared for what would happen once a Darima becomes whole. The result is a nign-unkillable entity with devastatingly potent powers, which the Angels wouldn't be too worried about... If "Heaven" actually had any form of security due to only ever dealing with powerless souls. Thus major panic as living embodiments of hatred and whatnot start rampaging against them, permanently destroying or fragmenting innocent souls in the process.

Though while the Angels can't truly create life, they shaped and guided humanity in numerous different ways such as constructing religions or directly consorting with the "puny mortals". Speaking of, while they like to think of themselves as good and perfect they also don't think very highly of non-angelic beings. The Angels themselves can potentially be compared to elves, both being immortal/long-lived magically skilled/attuned/powerful races. Furthermore, because they think they're infallibly perfect and utterly superior to humanity they'll casually manipulate/kill/torment/etc humans (going to the extent of being the basis for myths, legends, etc such as The Fair Folk or unleashing "divine judgement" of apocalyptic scales). They'll even break some souls down into magical craft materials instead of reincarnation/"soul recycling". Not all of them are like that however, with some simply ditching their kind and others outright rebelling against the general mindset.

Besides all that, the blessed come in two varieties: Those born & raised in clans/societies that serve the Angels, or individuals from outside the masquerade that they have scouted (occasionally masquerade breachers they don't mind wipe or kill that they convince to join). Further, they are divided into four classes based on Intelligence (allowed a personally chosen power of any definition they believe they can effectively use), Crazy (typically equipped with transformation sequences and personality appropriate abilities), Creative (given an omni-purpose ability only limited by their imagination and whatever single "element" or medium they had to choose), and Emotional (creating minions or items representing their interpretation of an emotion, limited to one active creation per emotion). In addition, they all receive the ability to see incomplete Darima (they're not aware of their true nature/origin) and enter the dream/mindscape in order to pursue Darima or attack ones latched onto a person's soul. Final note, the angels that communicate/interact with these humans pass themselves off as truly good (occasionally slipping off the mask to better manipulate someone).

Now regarding the RP itself: In the beginning its kind of "do-whatever", dealing with low level Darima. As things progress Completed Darima will make appearances, and its to eventually reach the point the protagonists discover the truth of the Angels & the Darima's creation with the Angels becoming antagonistic as a result. Though some rules regarding the creation of a character: They can only be human (unless you convince me otherwise) and can't already know the truth of the Darima or Angels (they could believe examples of the truth are simply exceptions to the false truth they've been presented though). In addition you don't need to bunch all together in the same area, as inhabitants of each clan/society can freely teleport to other such establishments through a portal network that's connected by a central area (each location is also, to varying degrees, located within "Heaven" to prevent unauthorized individuals from witnessing or waltzing into the shenanigans of their human agents).

  • Character Name: (This is modern times in a world similar to our own, so...)
  • Class: (Pick one of the listed "Classes" and then describe how their unique ability functions or is utilized)
  • Personality: (It should fit their Class least at the core, with a fake crazy being fine for Intelligence for example)
  • Inventory: (Limited purely by logic and in-character sense)
  • Bio: (Where everything else goes, like your appearance, backstory, current whereabouts, etc)

One more thing, while Angels can use souls to create/grant/use magic and whatnot part of their magic is derived from thought so as to actually shape the effects. Pouring out enough thoughts of belief in something or a wish/desire around raw magic can cause it to reflect that belief/wish/desire for good or bad. Oh, and its called Irrational Sanity due to a major focus on emotions & minds regarding events.

Um...

Not to be rude, but I think you just outright telling everyone what the twist is is not a very good idea, considering that twists and reveals are a large part of the plot. That bit sort of killed any interest I had.

And then there was silence

No, I was kind of expecting that. Since nobody ever bothers to tell me if I'm doing something wrong and I thought this was my solution, its good to have actual confirmation that plan failed. Though to be honest the "twists" and "reveals" about the Darima & Angels weren't exactly going to remain hidden that long anyways, I would have to do a serious amount of padding if I wanted those reveals shifted long down the line.

Then that apparently makes you the only one, as if this was actually going to be any degree of successful at least four people should of already claimed interest by now. Still, would like to know what exactly interests you so I can use that information to improve.

Basically I liked the world building and the idea of angels as The Fair Folk. One thing, if you were going to have a class system, you should have actually listed and elaborated on the classes.

The "classes" actually aren't all that complicated, with all the important information already listed there. Still, I suppose this could be considered more of a "proof of concept" (especially since nobody bothered posting interest). I'll probably come back with a refined/updated version sometime in the future to hopefully better results.
