High School DxD Fanfiction thread

Well, I made it so that Issei was the older brother of Rito and Mikan. That's one.

Issei and Rito in the same family? That's got to make for some.... interesting dynamics.

Issei: "I'm so proud of you, little brother!" <Manly Tears>

Rito: "I AM NOT A PERVERT! ALL THIS KEEPS HAPPENING BY ACCIDENT!"

Issei: "THEN STOP BITCHING ABOUT IT AND GIVE ME YOUR LUCK!"

Rias: "Is this... normal?"

Mom: "Yes."

.....something like that?

Well, it's more like Issei trying to be that amazing big brother his siblings look up to and more often not embarrasses his siblings in that attempt. Also, do note that perversity is a Hyoudou family gene so I added that factor in.

Well, considering how many actual good fics in the Dx D fandom there is, I'm not surprised.

Really? Is it because so many are xovers?

No, it's because there are literally a lot of bad fics, be it no crossover or crossover. With it being normal, people tend to insert OCs that suck and are not funny and bash Issei and any other person. If it's a crossover, people make one character completely out of character, give them a harem and bash Issei and others. Naruto, Shirou, Harry Potter, Natsu, and even Luffy. They do this because they just want to give a character they really like a harem and even do things like give them Grayfia and Venelana (two married women buns way)! I tired to drive away from that as far as possible in my To Love Ru and Dx D fic.

Fair enough, though tbh harem manga and anime are magnets for those type of fanfics.

I can see Naruto and Shirou, Harry is really stretching it, but Natsu and Luffy? No just no

Another problem is that they are giving a harem to a character that normally has no desire to have one and prefers a one on one relationship. Luckily, there a few Dx D fics that are indeed very good.

That's like 90% of harems.

I've never seen a fic where Issei gets bashed, tbh I like the Naruto xovers as long as they're good, at worst he's removed from the picture

Either you have never been exposed to the crap, or you are very optimistic.

Or instead of "bashing" Issei, they remove everything that makes him who he is and put his name and face on whatever half-personality the author thinks is cool.

Or they Bash Rias for whatever stupid reason based on Fanon that the original TNK anime ended up causing.

Evil Fanon Rias is probably the only thing in this fandom worse than Issei In Name Only.

They see her as manipulative and that she allowed Issei to die. Which is bullshit.

Along with seeing the "right place, right time" circumstances in which she got several of her other Peerage members and saying that Rias is either a Manipulative or Opportunistic Bastard as far as bringing them all into her service goes.

While that's completely over the top, even Issei admits he was startled by how quickly Rias recruited Rosseweisse, so there is some canon element to Rias being a bit of an opportunist with a very effective sales pitch.

Aside from the OCD stand in and the characters bashing what are the things of the highschool Dxd fics that people don'tlike?

Same with the xovers, also which pairings just don't make sense?

It's less what people don't like and more what do most writers love to do. There are so few actual good writers for Dx D that it is sad.

Well I only know the good Naurto xover authors so I can't argue with that
