@943 I've found that Zant causes clipping issues regardless of weapon in pretty much every level that has uneven terrain - so of course, many of the levels that give A rank rewards for Zant are on levels with plenty of it. It's not a problem in terms of play, but it seems strange to highlight it.
@945 I'm just a bit surprised that what works in other parts of these forums is considered bothersome here.
@948 Even with all of the advice being handed out here regarding fighting The Imprisoned, I agree. It's so easy to screw up just once and take five-plus hearts of damage from a single move. I find it's even worse when he also brings mini-Imprisoned. Those damn things love to use their Kamehame Hadouken attack on you when you're focused on something else (like the other one, since they always appear in pairs).
@963 I'm somewhat surprised that they hadn't given the 8-bit hammer to Darunia. I guess they wanted to keep it purely from The Legend of Zelda instead of Adventure of Link.
@967 Hmm... what if we put the 8-bit blue candle on a stick and gave it to Zelda as a Dominion Rod? At the risk of making the update too large, we could have it summon 8-bit Armos for its combos. For the 8-bit map... hmm... tough to say. I imagine that Wizzro, should he get an 8-bit weapon, would get the 8-bit blue ring. For some reason, I imagine Cia using a potion, of all things, as her 8-bit weapon. And even though this would really be a stretch (as it wasn't an obtainable in the original), I see Volga using a Gleeok head-on-a-stick.
@975 Well, on one hand, the Couple's Mask is the coolest design, IMO, from Majora's Mask. On the other hand, it's for people about to get married. Hyrule Warriors feels like a No Hugging, No Kissing setting where All Love Is Unrequited; I can't think of anyone who feels right wearing it.
EDIT: Oh, just curious - did anyone find that the mission to get Ghirahim's level 3 weapon vastly easier than his level 2 weapon? It seemed like foes were taking more damage, I was receiving less damage, and I was racking up KOs way faster than when I was trying to get his level 2. It only took me 10 minutes to breeze past 1500 KOs and get both side treasures, and only another two minutes to defeat the enemy commander (and, due to Ghirahim's wide sweep and the spawn rate, I took out another 200-300 mooks while wailing on Ganondorf).

Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. So, that thing where I whined about Zant's Scimitars of Twilight clipping? I take it back- I can't believe it took me this long to pick up on how they share their design with the sword Zant controlled Stallord with.
I sure said that!So there's a combo finisher where Young Link plays the ocarina.
Don't know what it does though.

@978 I think how quickly one notices the clipping issue depends heavily on how often you stop in certain areas. There are multiple spots in the Twilight Realm map where there's a slope and even Zant's first weapon clips heavily (I noticed it pretty early due to needing to pause once while having Zant fight there). Zant's not the only one who regularly clips, particularly in idle animations; he's just the one where it's the most obvious because even his base weapon skirts the environment edge. I've looked a bit more for clipping, and I've found that you also get it with Ruto near walls (since she holds her arms out like a scarecrow when idle), Impa near walls when using her sword (either direction; certain swipes clip heavily), and the Great Fairy whenever you're near a keep (her hair regularly phases through the walls).
I'm not sure if it's just that I'm used to clipping at this point, or if it's because it doesn't really affect the play, but for all that there is a bunch of clipping in the game, I don't mind it.
@979 I think that's only appropriate. I wonder what song he plays.
Last night, I finally had the breakthrough that made getting Ruto's level 3 scale easy. Because the first Cucco keep raid happened with the Central Keep (aka, the one you start right near), I decided to just camp in front of the Allied Base and handle the mooks and the three Fiery Aeralfos that were trying to assault the base. By the time I handled them, I already had gotten over 900 KOs while taking almost no damage in under 5 minutes. Plus, beating them opened up the Enemy Base. I just did a complete rush to take out Zant ASAP, on the theory that the bastard almost never shows his Weak Point Gauge (even when I fricking block, that stubborn weirdo), so I could get the rest of the needed KOs just from mooks dumb enough to wander into my combo finishers (also, because Ruto has some wide combo finishers). This worked so well that the second gold skulltula popped up during my fight with Zant - guess I know which one I'll be going back for sooner rather than later.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Seeing as this is the Majora's Mask pack, I'll assume Young Link plays the Song of Time.
@981 Well, since this Young Link is heavily based on Majora's Mask, the Oath to Order also seems like a likely choice.
EDIT: On reflection, "why not both?" seems like a reasonable question - either it could randomly play one of several songs from Majora's Mask, or Young Link could have different finishers that play different songs on the ocarina (similar to Sheik having multiple songs for her strong attack, depending on the element of your last combo).

Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Y'know, my friend's kinda right.
Look at this◊ for long enough and tell me that doesn't look like a giant blunt.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefFrom what I've gathered on GameFAQs (and yeah, Young Link plays the Song of Time), it's his Strong Attack/C1. It immediately converts as much of his Special Gauge as possible into Magic, which lets him stay in Focus Spirit longer. And for Focus Spirit he wears the Fierce Deity's Mask, which gives him sword beams and a lot more reach.
And his weapon is the Fierce Deity's Mask and variants of the Helix Sword, rather than the Kokiri Sword.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI was expecting him to use the Gilded Sword and Great Fairy Sword, considering how the Kokiri Sword is suddenly depicted as a two-handed weapon for him.
I sure said that! The Great Fairy sword just seems like it would be a better fit doesn't it?
To be fair... this Link seems to be a lot younger looking (and smaller) than the actual Young Link is usually depicted. Heck, my brothers have taken to calling him Baby/Toddler Link instead.
I guess the main point of his playstyle is to charge his meter up so you can maintain Fierce Deity form for as long as you can.

Also, use him to just humiliate Giant Bosses.
I have a message from another time...Alright, as of 1:27 EST, the Majora's Mask pack is live in the US!
EDIT: Wait, nope, false alarm- Something just got wacky on the eShop purchased items menu for me.
EDITEDIT: Ah, it was a 1 kb key update. So, when it's available the patch and DLC pack will download automatically!

I sure said that!Damn, you got my hopes up for some rollicking Tingle action when I got home today. DAMN YOU!!!!!
Also, for the first time (and second time; happened twice last night), I got a silver Cucco spawn on a Master Quest map (both times on Speed Run maps too; I swear the game's just screwing with me). I didn't get either of them, and I didn't even know what they might do until I looked it up online last night; I didn't even see mention of them on the trope page. Are they that rare and I got lucky last night, or is this one of those things where the fandom closes ranks and says "It's a secret to everybody."?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. The Ocarina combo finisheradds to the magic gauge (But at the cost of Special gauge)
This works when in Fierce Deity mode as well.

Alright, so
I'm conflicted- I'm kinda enjoying playing as Tingle.
I sure said that!...Were you expecting him to be lame or something? I know it's Tingle and all, but the Warriors usually has a way of making almost every character fun to play.
Oh yeah I need to update my game.
Lame? No. Just, perhaps like Agitha- Not entirely to my tastes.
I sure said that! The Termina Map rules sure are gimmicky. Rival fights are pretty nice though.
I wish the theme didn't always sound so evil though. I'd have preferred it if the evil violins or cellos or whatever in the background wouldn't play until maybe the last 24 hours.
Aw yeah. It's that time.
Iiiiiiiit's TINGLE TIME!
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefSo it took me a while to get used to Young Link's small range and having the camera low behind him. All of his range seems to come from his special abilities, though I like his YYYYYX. It's even better than Zelda's YYYYX.
Tingle is pretty different too. Doesn't reach so far, but enough? Might need more work with him.

Young Link's gimmick is very much about trying to maintain Focus Spirit as long as possible as often as possible. Hover Boots badges are very much important to using him well.
I sure said that! This line of his is too perfect.
Also, 1000th post? Neat.

It's depressing- Odds are good Twili Midna, Tingle and Young Link will always be stuck with one costume and tiny health meters.
I sure said that!
