Got about two hours in so far. Before you get a weapon the game is pretty painful. Of course, Katanas Are Just Better and I kicked ass once I got one. The crawling zombies were Demonic Spiders for me at first, they're just as fast and a walking zombie and they're stealthy and hard to hit. But again, katana > zombie.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I picked this up, also. It's hard. And yeah, Day-Z meets Minecraft, indeed.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold. It's interesting so far. Using the wiki to give me a better idea of what I can do. Also went ahead and made our page for it.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I just got into this because of some friends and because it's free. This is going to take some getting used to, but it should be fun to fight for a long while.
It's been a while but the game is celebrating its first anniversary on Steam and has been updated to version 3.0. Some highlights include:
- Big revamp of the PEI map
- Map editor, pretty robust from what I'm seeing
- Rag doll physics
- Revamped Grid Inventory, clothing now grants additional storage.
- Some user-content officially added to the game.

Famous last words of many a kerbal: MOAR BOOSTERS!!!Well no shit, that's awesome. I'll have to install and give it a go.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I remember playing this over summer break. I'll have to look into it again, I guess.
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"The Washington map is pretty cool, seems a lot larger than PEI. And the Yukon looks crazy, you freeze in the cold.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Yukon is really awesome, love the setting and it's also like playing the game on a harder difficultly. Feels really desolate.

I might try it later on tho if I can find a way to back up my PEI screwery save.
Famous last words of many a kerbal: MOAR BOOSTERS!!!On second thought, Yukon is completely sadistic.
Famous last words of many a kerbal: MOAR BOOSTERS!!!Yeah, it's pretty cool that way. Fun desperately sprinting over hills, not caring about undead in the way, just need to get in cover.

Anyway, it looks like Unturned is coming out of early access and getting a new map based on Germany. Still free to play.
I'll have to muck around when the new patch is released. The Russia map from last year was pretty cool.

Weird little thing I stumbled on. Here is the wiki and here is our future page Unturned.
I guess it's more or a less a voxel(?) zombie survival horror game similar to DayZ. Messing with it at the moment, not super impressed so far, started off at dusk naked and unarmed. I'm guessing houses have no doors or windows because there aren't any in the town I'm seeing.
Only played about 20 minutes of it. I imagine there's a lot that may be taught in a better tutorial down the road. Perhaps I can learn how it works when I regain the mystic power of sight.
I have a mining/woodcutting skill, so there must be some kind of construction. Also, a nice touch, they animated when you use things that generally just get "used". You watch yourself drink and slip a backpack on.
Being seen looks like a death sentence. I can't find any way to ditch zombies, especially without doors or windows.
