Definitely interested though I can't say I have any particular requests regarding the playstyle. How many players do you plan on having?
How do lizards fly?I'd probably want a minimum of 5, unless people are just really dying to go ahead even with less (doubtful). As for a maximum number, again, I doubt there will be enough sign ups for that to be an issue. If there are 10 or more I *might* have to put a limit there, I guess.
How are you, gentlemen? All your base are belong to us. You are on the way to destruction.I'm always down for Fallout.
Though I'd suggest leaving things as one or possibly two groups with a common goal who stay relatively close. Thin it out more than that and a game gets super slow. But leave it in groups, and even if only three out of seven players bother to post on a certain day, you can still push forward in the game.
Sounds interesting; my summer classes end pretty soon so I'll have time to post for a few weeks.
(In terms of original settings, I've always wanted to see Ronto, what with me being a Torontonian and all ).
Interested.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.Yea, go ahead and cast a vote for whatever setting you want, either one of the games or an original. If people are indifferent I'll just pick between the Mojave or DC.
How are you, gentlemen? All your base are belong to us. You are on the way to destruction.Out of the two, I would pick DC. As for original settings... Beijing?
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.I would prefer an original setting because half the fun of Fallout is discovering a new place, looking at the surface, and slowly learning about what lies beneath. But that is a shitload of work.
As far as existing settings, if we do that instead of an original location, I'd definitely prefer the Mojave to DC. But in any case, it would also be a bit of work to make it so we experience new stuff in those locations, instead of just recycling plots from the game.
Yea, I definitely wouldn't use any of the plots from the games. The same factions might be present, but I wouldn't want to focus on the same conflicts (whatever vs Enclave, NCR vs Legion, etc) that we've already seen. I'd probably have it set fifty or so years after the events of the game in question, so the same places might be around, but they could have changed a lot in the intervening time gap.
How are you, gentlemen? All your base are belong to us. You are on the way to destruction.I requested this, so interest. I'd prefer a new location (preferably still in America, for the iconic 50s vibe), or DC if that's too much trouble.
While choosing every SPECIAL attribute might not be necessary, I think Tag Skills probably should be. Perks (in a more freeform sense) could be a fun way of incorporating advancement, if you want that in there.

Flesh is a design flaw.Interested. New locations are easier to dodge canonical meddling/sidestepping/etc. Not sure where though... Probably not America because EVERY APOCALYPSE ONLY HAS SURVIVORS IN THE USA except for Mad Max.
I'll vote Japan or Australia.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Personally I'd see the action going in Canada, just to see if the shadow of US annexation from before the war still looms there.
But if we end up choosing a set stage, I'll go with Mojave.
How do lizards fly?I was thinking China, along the lines of how the Great War affected the other side.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart. We could see the Chinese version of Liberty Prime.
HELL YES.
We could make it in the style of something from the Super Robot genre.

"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart. How will you keep the feel of Fallout without the omnipresent 50s America vibe? Can you draw from anything even remotely similar in China? As much as it might be cool, I just don't see Fallout working there.
Flesh is a design flaw.:/
You are right, but it would be cool.
Cool, or true to the source material? I'd go for both, methinks.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart. So if Fallout!America never really moved beyond the Truman/Eisenhower-era philosophies and aesthetics, would Fallout!China be similarly influenced by Mao and the early Cultural Revolution?
Probably, yeah.

"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.Yeah, I guess most of what makes Fallout Fallout is pretty steeped in American culture. Without the SPECIAL or retro 50's vibe, it would be more like a quirky Chinese post-apocalyptic setting than anything specifically "Fallout".
America it is!
Or maybe the UK, that might just work too. America is probably better for our purposes.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.Canada sounds interesting - they'd have the nicest super mutants ever But if we do America maybe someplace new...
I suppose Australia would result in too many things trying to kill you even for Fallout, haha.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Well, I do live in Toronto, so if we want to set it in or around Ronto I could at least provide tips about geography, and such.
Yea, it sounds like it will be set in Toronto from what I'm seeing here. I don't want to go outside the US, but since the US annexed Canada, that still counts :D

Discussion thread.
RP topic.
Post signups here in the interest topic, I'm not going to make another one just for that.
Character Template (yes, I shamelessly copied a bit from Nman's signup topic)
Name:
Age:
Sex:
Appearance:
Personality: You can make a person that's a total lone wolf, or very hostile/hard to work with, but it's going to make life a lot harder for you. Other than that anything goes.
Background: Again, pretty much anything goes. You can be born in the wastes, or raised in a Vault, including Vault 93. Your character may have traveled to the Toronto area recently, or lived there for his/her entire life. If your character is from Vault 93, they will likely be living inside the Vault when the RP begins. If they are from anywhere else, like I said, pretty much anything goes.
One thing should be noted, if your character is a wastelander who has lived in/around Toronto for a long time and knows its layout, it's gonna be up to you to navigate the fact that your character knows more about the location than you the author do, since we're going to be making some of this stuff up as our characters discover it. It may be a lot simpler to write either a Vault inhabitant, or a wastelander who recently traveled to the area and doesn't know anything about it. Vault 93 may even be the first place they arrive at in Toronto.
Optional
You don't have to fill in any of these, but if no skills are tagged, it will be assumed that your character is just not good at anything.
Tag Skills: Pick three of these skills. For a quick idea of how this relates to the games, a tagged skill is like having 50 points in that skill.
[Skill 1]
[Skill 2]
[Skill 3]
==
Inventory: Items your guy/gal would reasonably be expected to have on them at any time, like a trusty weapon or a well-worn jacket. Temporary things like food items don't have to be included.
==
SPECIAL Scores: (You have 40 points total, each category has to be between 1 and 10)
Strength:
Perception:
Endurance:
Charisma:
Intelligence:
Agility:
Luck:
SPECIAL is fairly self-explanatory. I won't hold you to any rules here, like if your INT is 3 or lower, your character has to talk in broken speech, or something like that (though you certainly can if you want). This is pure optional flavor, I don't care how you interpret it for your character.
