Upon reading some stuff on it, it's no longer that messing around with boolprop too much caused strange things to happen to my game.

Boolprop itself doesn't cause corruption, but I might've done some stuff.

Anyways, if I install it and keep it on my computer, I'll be playing with mods.

Thanks for the heads up, Occono. Acquired and saved for future downloading.

Uuuuuuuuuuughhhhhhhhhhh

Is it still as bad as it was?

Probably. I have five games on Origin now but I haven't really played many of them.

You can run The Sims 2 and 3 without having logged into Origin first so its not bad where those two games are concerned.

I miss Sims 2. I never got the third game and from what I saw, early on at least, it never had the mods and characters I wanted.

Whoa. Grabbing this. Fond memories of hot-seating a neighborhood with my wife and having charts and notes of who was supposed to marry who and all that.

So is it normal for the game to ask me for the CD Key thousands of times? Because I've been doing this for a while now...

Wow, this brings back memories. Rolled up a couple and put them in the quaint little houses in Pleasantview, and trying to remember the stupid interface.

Sounds interesting, but there is some things that are holding me back from going for it, all involving Origin.

I remember there being mass reports about how EA used Origin as spyware and there was proof to back it up too. I have looked into this and I am still receiving mixed messages about if this is still the case. Is Origin still spyware? Also, is it always online (like uPlay was)?

These might sound like silly concerns, but I really do not trust anything EA say.

I can run the game without Origin starting up.

Don't you need Origin to download it though? I'm a bit concerned about the whole having Origin on my laptop part

Just download it, then uninstall Origin.

Origin needs the internet about as much as Steam needs the internet.

Ended up getting Sims 2 anyway. Won't likely be buying anything off the store though (don't have much money to spend at the moment anyway)

I got this cuz nostalgia is way more powerful than the desire to not use EA stuff; and geez it's way harder than I remember. My sim set his apartment on fire every time he cooked anything and I had a motive disaster (whatever you call those) on the first day somehow.

[up] Isn't that how you are supposed to play The Sims?

Iirc, you are doing it wrong if one of your Sims doesn't have a fire or pool-related death

Good.

Runs fine for me, although I had to turn shadows off (I had these odd black squares under my sims that moved with them). Made a couple, but apparently didn't save the selection that they be married. Oh well, she's a Family sim, so more points as I get the two of them hitched. Made bathroom use an issue the first day, though (shoo, shoo, I have to go!) and all that. The guy picked up cooking quickly, which was good - I could NOT remember where the bloody smoke detector was in Buy Mode.

Then I forgot that you HAVE to pay bills (I liked 3's prompting to pay them all) and got two cheap things repo'd... not like anyone cared. May move them into an Apartment shortly.

It's a good nostalgia trip. Man, I've forgotten all the keyboard shortcuts...!

Wife grabbed 3. We're expecting to be blown away when 4 rolls out later this year.

I don't kill any Sims on purpose. I get attached to them. They're having more functional lives then I am.

I try to keep my sims alive, happy, and healthy but they're walking disasters so its a challenge.

Which mods or creative content does everyone like to have for Sims 2?
