Speaking of, I know I gave Gretchen a weakness to fire that nerfs her OP-ness somewhat, but I'm still worried that her strings are so sharp they'll basically render any threat posed by cyborgs or the infected irrelevant, considering she can cut through just about anything and can't be stopped by anything short of a flamethrower.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialSorry about that.
Would sound based powers combined with resonant frequency be better?
It comes. The corrupter comes. Don't let it touch the tower lest all reality crumble. You're facing a highly advanced robotics company, squads of flamethrower drones aren't out of the question. Also, explosions are hot. And there will be lots of explosions.
Sound based powers are fine.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?I was considering a plaguemaster sort of character, a walking repository of various bacteria, viruses, fungal infections and the like, all beefed up by his mutation. He's more of a gradual grinder, control-the-battlefield type character. I'm thinking how not to make it overly OP, but is the concept fine enough.

To the law and for the good of man. All I need to live by.Real Name: Bob Tyrone Signore
Alias/Codename, if any: Subject Epsilon
Gender: Male
Appearance: He appears as a normal human except for the two mouths in the palms of his hands
Personality: An adventurous youth who likes to be carefree but tends to break when under extreme pressure. Optimistic mixed with dark humor.
Background: He grew up poor in a small town and moved away from the backwater city in for better opportunities. Bob became a guinea pig after a motor cycle accident in order to pay the medical bills.
Powers: He is able to generate concentrate sound waves from any of his mouths that can incapacitate, injure or even throw his foes.
Bob is also able use his sonic powers to fly through the air and as sonar.
Thanks to his mutation his hearing range has expanded tremendously.
He is capable of breathing and eating through his new hands.
Misc.: He really enjoys his powers, but now he really hates to shake hands. His weakness lies in that his blast are very concentrated and are the size of his mouths meaning that Bob can take on a few, but multiple hostiles can easily overwhelm him.
It comes. The corrupter comes. Don't let it touch the tower lest all reality crumble.(Phew, finally made it. Hope you're still checking these.)
(EDIT: Also, TV Tropes is sort of an ass for not letting me post this with the links that I had, so I guess you're stuck with your imagination for now.)
Real Name: Narendra “Ren” Carlisle
Alias/Codename: N/A
Gender: Bigender (born male)note
Appearance: Ren’s more human appearance tends to differ based on what sex he is. Generally, though, he stands at around 5’9”—although he’s pretty sure that he loses an inch or two as a female—with a lean, muscular build; and now has completely black skin, white hair and eyebrows, and big gold eyes with long eyelashes. The only clothes he wears now are a pair of black shorts and a belt, since the majority of his body below the collarbone is covered with dark gray down feathers and some black contour feathers, with his legs turning almost scaly below the knees. His wings and tail, when out, are also black, but with white tips.
Personalitynote : Despite the discovery of the end of the world as they knew it, Ren’s been experiencing something akin to a “reawakening” through his newfound freedom. Because of it, he’s felt more happy, confident, and comfortable with himself than any other point in his life, although he’s still scared of actually approaching anyone else at the moment, lest he freaks out someone and potentially invite attacks towards him. Other than that, Ren is a curious person, the type to enjoy watching the clouds and fly high to watch the world below him simply to enjoy the beauty of it all, and generally knows how to sustain himself and be out of the way of others.
Background: Adopted from India, Ren was raised by your Average Conservative White Family in your Average Small Town, USA. Despite the teasing he got for his occasional “feminine” behaviors by both his family and classmates in his early childhood and the subtly different treatment he received for being the only non-white kid in town, he felt that his childhood could’ve been a lot worse. To him, the real problems arose when his family cut ties with him due to his “rebellious” behavior and his adamant desire to attend art school. Left virtually on his own, he moved to the city and worked as a supermarket cashier in order to make enough money to at least attend community college part time over the course of over four years. Unfortunately, a few months before Ren’s twenty-fourth birthday, he was fired from his job, and with almost no other job available at the time and the threat of homelessness, he signed up to become a test subject at Life Industries.
Powers: Outside of enhanced eyesight and hearing, much of the changes that came for Ren involved some form of shapeshifting abilities and increases in dexterity and speed.
- Ren’s hands can morph his fingers into long black claws as hard as diamonds.
- His arms and tailbone can transform into black, falcon-like wings and tail feathers◊, which, coupled with his enhanced muscles and larger and more efficent lungs and heart, allow him to fly (with much agility) at speeds around 45-55 mph, although he can reach about 90-100 mph—that is, if his dives aren’t taken into account.
- Ren’s legs can become more bird-like, with sharp talons that can easily grab a normal-sized human.
- With a good amount of effort, he’s capable of emitting a high-pitched screech that can rattle—and in some cases, crack—glass.
- Partially due to his status as a non-binary individualnote , Life’s experiments also granted Ren the power to transform between two predetermined male and female bodies. (Ren, though, has yet to discover if this kind of shapeshifting also affects what internal organs he has.)
Misc.:
- Ren also has an extra eyelid that’s transparent and protects his eyes from wind and debris.
- When she’s female, Ren tends to enjoy dancing, especially swing.
- Due to his experiences at Life, Ren doesn't exactly care for people calling him a harpy.

@goodisgood: Most of your enemies in this will be immune to viruses anyway, because they're robots or already infected with a deadlier virus. The power itself is fine, but probably not gonna be useful.
@Philosopher: Accepted.
@Black Revolver: Accepted. Like I said with Eachiunn, I'm just gonna make up a codename for your character. If you think of one before the RP starts, just post it in the discussion thread or something and I'll change it.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?I suppose that someone who turns to be immune to the virus would defeat the purpose of the "find cure" goal, no?
- Real Name: Dale "Dolly" Hough
- Alias: Dragula
- Gender: Both
- Appearance: Imagine an attenuated Dr. Frankenfurter, including outfit but with fangs (retractable), claws (likewise) and large pointy ears.
- Powers:
- Exceptional speed, strength and reflexes that get an extra boost after drinking blood. the claws can rip through metal.
- Can fly, doesn't need wings,
- Can control animals, not just the usual (wolves, bats etc) but any.
- Can change hir natural form to any of a variety of more pleasant human forms of either sex, allowing hir to pass as normal
- Background: Dale was a low level drag queen performer and sometime prostitute who was "disappeared" because the experimenters figured no one would miss him. The virus had a transforming effect on him making him a hir, which is to say a hermaphrodite as well as all the other changes.
- Personality: On the surface se plays up the Camp Gay, underneath se is bitter and isolated but with a streak of kindness that pops up at the most unexpected moment.

Trump delenda est- Real Name: Joshua
- Alias/Codename, if any: Unknown
- Gender: Technically genderless. Indentifies as male
- Appearance: Joshua is a well built, tall man with long blonde hair, he has no genitals and has scars on his shoulder blades, he often wears a ripped pair of pants, and an untied, tattered straitjacket.
- Personality: Joshua sees himself as a god, and believes that the ones that surround him, should worship him, however, he is a hair trigger manchild, often throwing temper tantrums when people do not follow him as a God, or if they follow a deity other then him.
- Background:Joshua was raised in a rather abusive household, who would forever preach, which authorities describe as “a mix of darwinian theory, and Catholicism.” This caused the dangerously unhinged Joshua to mature into an utter psychopath, who went on a murdering spree. Butchering six women, however, he was caught by the police and was later taken in as a test subject, only for the experiments if anything, make his mental faculties worse, giving him a god complex, he escaped going on a rampage before he realized that, as a God, this was his world. Humanity had fallen sickly, corrupt. So, he and his brethren should rule over them, and show them the right way.
- Powers: Joshua has control over his body's structure. He can do things such as make his skin thick enough that he is able to No-Sell an a Tank blast, he also has the ability to absorb other people, which boosts his physical abilities.

Good to be backDr. Frank N. Furter and a ken doll psychopath who thinks he's a god. Nice.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”@Tricksterson: Accepted.
@Troyand Hawk: Accepted. By 'Unknown', do you mean you didn't give him a codename, or is his codename literally the word 'Unknown'?
Also, officially closing sign-ups. Ten people (not counting me) is enough, and I haven't GM'd that many times before so there's only so much I can handle.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?Doesn't have one.
Good to be backOh, Mitchell will just love that psychopathic ken doll.
I'm interested, let me hammer out a character idea.
"It all depends on how we look at things, and not on how they are themselves." -C.G. JungWhy did I only find about this today? Anyway, here we go:
- Real Name: Raymond Reynolds
- Alias/Codename, if any: The Evil Eye
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: A tall, lean man in his early 30's or so; brown hair; a white business suit and cowboy hat; and a black eyepatch covering his right eye. Tends to have a small smirk on his face
- Personality:Reynolds likes to always keep up an air of affability; no need to get unpleasant. He's generally calm and collected, and tends to keep a rather detached view of things; some might say too detached. That's not to say he doesn't care, but for example, if someone were holding someone hostage while threatening to blow up a building, or to enact some other compromising situation, Reynolds would rather just shoot the hostage-taker and save the vast majority of people in the building, even if that would mean risking the hostage's life. He still cares about saving lives, but usually does so from an objective point of view, putting the needs of the many over the few. Of course, his powers help to prevent such incidents from occurring, but they're not infallible either.
- He also has a love for mysteries and the unknown, but at the same time, also knows he only has one life on the material plane, and will always take precautions when entering new territory. He's also well-read, both in the classics, as well as comics and the pulps. Finally, he doesn't smoke, drink, or take drugs, considering all three to be nothing more than vile poisons. Anyone taking any those substances within his presence is likely to garner a raised eyebrow, at the very least.
- Background: Before the breakout, Reymond Reynolds was an experienced private eye. He always had a rather startling intuition, and a knack for checking out places which few dared to tread. That's probably what led him to the biological testing. He was given a job to check out the place, and get an injection himself. The client was interested as well, but he wanted a guinea pig of sorts before he himself took the shot; proof that you could take it without coming out a dead man, though some photographs and a throughout investigation wouldn't hurt either. Reynolds welcomed the chance. He didn't fear the unknown; rather, he reveled in it. Besides, if he somehow managed to survive, he'd undoubtedly become fitter and/or stronger than his fellow man in some capacity. Or he'd just wind up a rotting corpse, but then again, life was all about chances.
- He signed up for the testing, though what he wasn't expecting was to get super-powers out of the deal. That and illegal imprisonment. How was he going to finish the job and get his paycheck now? Of course, that was all rendered mute when the zombies began to attack...
- '''Powers:
- Hypnosis:Reynolds tends to keep his eyepatch on for a reason. Beneath that eyepatch lives a small, purple, bulging and twisting creature that merely resembles an eye, complete with a long, sharp red iris in the middle, though Reynold generally has control of the creature's actions. When Reynolds take off his eyepatch, his powers are unleashed, and he becomes able to hypnotize anyone he makes eye contact with longer than a second. A mere glance won't do anything at all.
- Evil Eye: In addition to hypnosis, Reynolds can also shoot out a long, thin, and fast-moving tendril, which nearly instantly grows a human-sized hand on the end. It starts to disintegrate anything it comes into contact with; the longer the length of contact, the faster the disintegration becomes.
- Packin' Heat: When none of his ablities seem to provide an adequate solution, Reynolds can always turn to his trusty handgun, always on a holster at his right side when not in use. He's quite the expert with it, though he's no sniper.
- Misc: Even though he doesn't smoke cigarettes, he still tends to keep one in his mouth, as he thinks it makes him look 'cool.'
How does that look?

So are we going anywhere with this?
Trump delenda estSincerely hope that this isn't dead.
Good to be backAs do I but this doesn't look... encouraging in terms of activity.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”I posted, and will do my damnedest to keep this thing running with or without a GM.
