The trope is more typical for men, but not exclusive to that gender. Which gender it's applies to is irrelevant to the core trope, which is about the dissonance between the expected stereotype and the "normal" character.
Check out my fanfiction!Take it off the Always Male index. The pronoun thing... well, that's a glitch of English, so unless we want to either go to singular "they', which will cause other editors to get their underwear in a bunch, or do that incredibly awkward to read he/she alternation between paragraphs, there's not a lot we can do to get rim of the "him"s and "he"s
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Removed.
Wait a minute, I thought the lady version was Lipstick Lesbian?? What is the difference between a Straight Gay woman and a Lipstick Lesbian?
Lipstick Lesbian says on its page that it can be the Distaff version of Straight Gay (if she isn't over-the-top ultrafeminine), or Manly Gay (if she is ultra-feminine).
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Pretty much.
Check out my fanfiction! If that is the case wouldn't it make sense to have a Straight Lesbian redirect? Also the page claims "Arguably a Spear Counterpart to Lipstick Lesbian" and has no lesbian examples.
Reading Lipstick Lesbian really does make it seem like the 'not obviously gay' stereotype of Straight Gay instead of the 'hyper girly overcompensation' lesbian it would be if it was.

There's been some recent argument on the Straight Gay trope. A couple tropers saw the large number of male pronouns and male tropes in the description, the fact that it's on the Always Male index, and so on to mean that it can only apply to males, and started a cleanup. Considering that the rest of the wiki uses it as gender neutral, I think we just need a minor description cleanup. I don't want to do anything unilaterally, but this doesn't require a full TRS thread.
Thoughts?
EDIT: Actually, there are a bunch of gay tropes on the Always Male index that really shouldn't be on there.
