The current seems a bit unclear to me because "Non-specific excuse!" really doesn't sound like something that would actually be said word-for-word.

Existence Weighed Against Nonbeing
I like Willbyr's first suggestion. The Gunnerkrigg Court one has the problem of obviously taking place in a library (book stacks in the background), which means that going to go get a book isn't that far fetched. It's a better illustration if the excuse is obviously ridiculous.

I think 25.2 could work if you used panels 2 to 5 instead of just 2 and 3.
