One-paragraph description that ends with an awkward parenthetical consisting entirely of "Hint:" and a bald link to another page, example headings use asscaps instead of folders, and one example has first-person in there. Oh, and it has only ten intrawiki inbound links. And this dates back to 2010?

Wow. yeah. That one needs help. Big time. Good catch, Morgan.

Might do better with a different name, I expected it to be about "character's latent powers are awakened before they are able to/know how to handle them". Seems it's more about "forcibly recruiting a character without their informed consent, sometimes without their consent at all."

The description needs to be improved and the page crosswicked. These are the issues that I think are responsible for the distrophy.

Yeah, based on the name, it sounded like "someone gets superpowers before they normally would", not "someone is given superpowers before their loyalty is ensured". The core of the trope seems to be "someone is given superpowers without their permission", given that many of the examples don't actually have the character becoming a Phlebotinum Rebel. Maybe something like "Unwilling Super Empowerment" or "Forced Super Empowerment"?

And I'm only good at coming up with trope names when they're horrible attempts at alliteration. Somehow, I doubt Powers Predate Permission works very well.

Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.

No Consent Empowerment? Non Consentual Empowerment?

I still like Unwilling Super Empowerment a la Unwilling Roboticisation.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.

The part of that one I don't like is that it isn't always unwilling. Sometimes the character would be perfectly willing, they just aren't asked first (or asked at all); or they are willing, but they might not be if they knew the whole deal.

Seems related to Emergency Transformation.

As for the name... Deep End Recruitment or something like that? I figure it could be broadened to things beyond superpowers as long as the process has major effects on the person's life.
