Bad plot.
Yeah bad plot. Jun was meant to be Incurrptable Pure Pureness. Right? Dislikes deception. In the animated film hates Heihachi's nizitche ideals. So she tells her son to find him. What?

Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursMaybe Jin just misinterpreted and got the wrong grandfather?
I mean, the Kazama family seem to have some supernatural nonsense of their own going on; that the writers seemingly refuse to explain at all.
"If you are going through hell, keep going." - Winston ChurchillThe only other reason I could think of is pragmatism. He did grow up rich and well taken care of.
Or in the face of Ogre; Jun thought that the only person capable of training Jin to a state where he could stand against Ogre is just Heihachi. At that point, Jun would at least forego goodness. I mean, who else is the uber martial artist capable of training Jin?
The answer to that might well be...hmmm, Unknown.
She'd do it I think. Angel? Asuka's sensei? Michelle or Lei if Jun knowns them. Nina if she knows her.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursThe same people who trained her? I mean, she uses "Kazama-style martial arts", so presumably that's a family thing.
Meh, I just feel like the whole Kazama thing was a missed opportunity; especially after Asuka's introduction in 5.
"If you are going through hell, keep going." - Winston ChurchillShe participated in a tournament full of them!
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Which Heihachi won. Therefore he was the strongest and had the best chance for Jin's survival. If he's trained by someone softer but weaker, Jin will die when he demands rematch against Ogre.
See while I'm not sure about the exact rules of the tournament, I don't think Heihachi genuinely faced every single combatant and beat each and every one of them. Even if he did, that doesn't necessarily mean that the others suck.
Granted there are some wild cards in there - including a ninja, a cyborg, and a bear, none of whom are guaranteed to be good martial arts teachers. But even so Jun still had better options than the grandfather who threw her husband off a cliff when he was 8 years old.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I don't know. Even though the plot treats him like a joke now, Paul fought Heihachi to a draw, and beat the first incarnation of Ogre (the one who killed a number of fighters, Jun included).
So while I can kinda see the logic of Heihachi being the biggest badass in a town full of badasses, I'm not sure if he could be called the only one.
My theory: Jun secretly hated her own son. Gotta get rid of that Devil Gene right?
By the way, was that reporter dude supposed to be anyone important? Or was he just meant as a sort of viewpoint character for the story mode?
One Strip! One Strip!Depends if Jun knew that Heihachi was a jerk, which I doubt she does.

My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I truly want the drugs Jun was on when she thought that was a good idea.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursSo I saw the Bonus Boss of the game. And... Well...
So you know Shin Akuma, right? How about a Shin Akuma that can throw triple Shakanetsu Hadoukens, and has invincible teleports that put his Super Turbo teleports to shame in terms of speed? The ONLY mercy you get is playing as Devil Kazuya in full Devil Mode. And even then, you might have to fight him with other characters at some point.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...I want to see him fight the grandpa from Dead or Alive.
all the popular 3d Fighters plus street Fighter are in the same world.
Watch SymphogearI still can't can't believe that they took a guest fighter as a deathly serious addition to the storyline.
How the hell is that going to work in the future when they don't have the rights to Akuma any more?

Canon Discontinuity or Retcon or just being plain vague? They can always say, a mysterious fighter attacked Kazuya or stuff. Then the visual aids shows the outline of something obscured in fog.
Game's out in Japan by the way, and the tech (?) is coming in...

For those SF players looking to get into Tekken, I've made a video comparing the series to Tekken help break down Tekken for the newcomers https://youtu.be/0dHDmqX7QgI
Hopefully this would be a lot of help for those trying to learn the game this go around or for those who aren't but are curious about the deeper mechanics in both games outside of "One's 2D and One's 3D"
youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92Watched some character endings:
Paul is more of a Butt-Monkey than ever, what with being booed after he legitimately beats Panda, Lucky Chloe is so annoying I'm thinking they just ran with the massive backlash against her character, and Eliza is more narcoleptic than ever, though it seems she might actually be connected to Lili's family in some way since she keeps trying to hint at something, but falls asleep before she can. Maybe the Rocheforts have demonic ancestry.
One Strip! One Strip! This might be the best Tekken character ending I've ever seen.
I love how animated Lili is here.
So Lily is moving into Asuka's house, owns the family dojo, and is planning to learn the Kazama-style martial arts...? Are we sure Lili's not actually trying make Asuka her waifu?
Now if you'll excuse me I have fanfic to write... What?

"If you are going through hell, keep going." - Winston ChurchillAt this point it's writing itself.
My hands are moving across the keyboard, and considering I'm at work, that's not a good thing.
Anyone else notice that the game now refers to Leo as male? Either this is more trolling or a continuity mistake.
On another note, the character endings in general are rather disappointing. 90% of the characters are jokes now or just totally irrelevant. Namco might know how to make a good fighting game, but between this and Soul Calibur V, holy hell they don't know how to tell a story worth a damn.

Was it ever explained what compelled Jun to suggest that Jin goes and see his grandfather if anything happened to her?
