Alleyway

"Mac Carson... very well." The man muttered a confirmation as a purple portal appeared from behind him. His body dissolved into specks of purple dust, absorbed into the portal, but before he disappeared, he left behind one final message. "This is not the last you will see of me, Mac Carson."

"We will meet again."

"R-ridiculous!" Despite not being entirely composed, the officer saw no holes in his defense. "My Goyo Guardian has over 4000 ATK and I have your Juggler for additional defense! Your LP are too low, so you can't ram with Zenmaines either! I can't lose this! I set one card and end my turn!"

"Oh, it's almost 6:30. I should really run if I want to catch that train." Tim said as he stood up and picked up his jacket. "Well, it's been nice chatting with you, Cole. See you later."

Randall let away a low chuckle. "But don't you see? Your Goyo Guardian's power is also its weakness! You'll find I take a joy in defeating my foes using their own power! I play from my hand, Wind-Up Rat!" With a wild swing of his arm, he threw the card at his Duel Disk, projecting forward the sweet and innocent looking rat toy. (ATK: 600).

"Wind-Up Rat's special ability allows me to select a Wind-Up monster in my Graveyard and summon it to my side of the field, by putting my Rat into defense mode! I choose Wind-Up Warrior, whose own special ability allows it to give my Rat a level up!" (Rat Level: 3 -> 4)

Slipping one card away from his Extra Deck, he continued. "Now, I overlay Level 4 Wind-Up Rat and Warrior! With these two monsters, I build an overlay network! Xyz Summon, Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" The two creatures became glowing yellow spirals of light, spiralling skyward around each other, before bursting back to the earth, giving birth to a new black dragon, orbited by its two purple overlay units. (ATK: 2500, OLU: 2)

"Dark Rebellion Dragon has a special ability of its own too, so don't think you're outta the woods because it's weaker than your Guardian! By removing both of it's overlay units, your Guardian loses a half of its attack points-" The dragon absorbed both of it's purple power units into its mouth, breathing out a purple smoke that passed over Goyo Guardian, sapping its strength. (Goyo Guardian ATK: 4800 -> 2400 "-but don't worry too much, because all of those attack points he lost aren't going to waste - in fact, my Dragon is going to take them all for itself!" (Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon ATK: 2500 -> 4900)

"And by putting Zenmaines in a position to attack (ATK: 1500), I'll start my Battle Phase! Zenmaines, tear into Juggler with your Mechanoclaw!" The wind-up key in the back of Zenmaines span faster and faster as it charged in towards the psychic wind-up monster.

Downtown Streets

"I activate Wind-Up Juggler's special ability! After damage calculation, it destroys the monster that it battled with!" As Juggler was shattered into tiny pixels, it left a single ball behind. It flashed for a second before blowing up right in Zenmaine's face.

"But you already know that Wind-Up Zenmaines has its own ability, so let's see it again! When Zenmaines would be destroyed, by removing one overlay unit, it's perfectly safe!" The last red orb around Zenmaines came in front of it, to block the explosion, before absorbing itself into Zenmaines' frame.

"So let's just keep going, Dark Rebellion Dragon! Take out his Goyo Guardian! Black Dragonbreath!

Downtown Streets

"Oh crap..."

Goyo Guardian raised its shield to block the attack, to no avail. The breath of black aura shattered the shield into pieces and proceeded to do the same with the warrior holding it. The explosion blew the officer backwards, who bounced on the asphalt once before landing on his face.

LP: 7400->4900

Randall's tone turned almost mocking, as if he was talking to a small child. "Aww... you're looking all down, there... well this is an end to my turn, so the means Zenmaines..." Randall snapped his fingers "...will use its special ability to take out that face-down card before it causes me any trouble I don't really want." On the top of Zenmaines' head, a small cannon revealed itself, firing its red overlay unit to the officer's facedown card. "Little babby wanna take his turn now? Or you just wanna give up?"

Downtown Streets

The facedown Wiretap was blown to bits as the officer staggered to his feet, weakly drawing his card. "I-I set two cards facedown..."

Cole waved at his friend's back. He seemed perfectly content to just sit there and sip his tea, shuffling through his deck absentmindedly in the process.
