Good chapter. Nice to find out Piety, already.
Well, this fight is pretty awesome.
In the words of Slader "One of them is in for a rude awakening."
I actually succumbed and read it. Good chapter. I can't see this ending well for Escanor; we know what happens to shonen characters who use their ultimate attack before their opponent does, right?
Nice exchange of blows between the two; they both can shrug it off but Escanor's the only one bleeding right now. That combined with makes makes me think the one in for a rude awakening is Escanor. Well, it makes me think that even more than the general set up does.

Well, the only real question for me is whether Escanor will manage to injure Estarossa before going down.
I'm wondering what's going to keep them all from dying once Escanor goes down. Honestly, a lot of people seem to envision this as Escanor is just too powerful and makes the Ten Commandments retreat but that just completely clashes with the mood he's been setting.
And, like it or not, Meliodas' return is going to be treated as this big beacon hope. You can't really do that if Escanor has everything under control.
I'm guessing that while Escanor won't die, he'll take a wound that'll remove him from the board for a while, depriving Team Good of their nuclear option.
This is the hope crusher moment, the point where the biggest strongest ally goes down in front of everyone.
So it's The Worf Effect, only they've built up to it by actually showing how formidable and powerful Escannor is?
I can roll with that.
One Strip! One Strip!I'd say he didn't need as much buildup as he got, though.
^^ I think it's actually a little more complex than that. It's not just hyping up Estarossa because that's already been done well enough but rather that it's showing both the audience and the cast how hopeless the situation is. He isn't doing this off by himself or with just another Sin or two along for the ride but rather in front of what is a large chunk of the armed resistance. They'll be highly demoralized so when Meliodas comes back it'll be a way of returning hope to the series and what fighters are still left at that point.
That's my guess anyway.
Turns back on Zeldris*

Mileena MadnessThe Demon King did say that Zeldris' commandment got to Meliodas, and we did see him turn his back to him when he tried to escape, but nothing really seemed to happen with that.
I mean, that would have made everything really anticlimactic but it does seem kind of weird.
The one thing I don't get is how Estarossa's Commandment works. As Charity does not really fit how it worked to me.
A better translation would be love or kindness. I don't understand why Mangastream went with charity, but if it doesn't sound right, it's probably because that's not the meaning the the author was looking for.
Seriously, he alright says that hate towards him activates it, and they go with charity?
My prediction: Escanor using whatever his ultimate attack is on Estarossa in anger will set off the Commandment.
I am interested to see Escanor use an actual technique, though I feel like collateral damage in the cost of lives would be an issue here.
Charity as a virtue can denote love, more specifically how the love Christians hold for God is above all else.
Maybe, but they still had several words they could have translated it too that work in a much more obvious way.
Now I'm wondering even more about what Escanor's going to do after this. Like, he's most likely going to lose, but this has made it obvious he's way above all the others so this might be the most interesting and satisfying fight he gets.
In other words, he might have peaked too fast.

Hey, so a vacation omake or whatever is out. I actually found it funny.
Oh hey,Escanor's acting like a team member.
Secret SignatureThis special just reminds me that we haven't seen Merlin- who's clearly the best sin, in months. And that's just awful.
Chapter out.
The banter is pretty fun.And we see Piety at work too!
