YAY!

It's about time! Hopefully we get a full trailer soon - I don't know what they're waiting for.

If this is as good as Catching Fire, it's likely to be my favourite movie of the year. They've improved substantially on the books.

So who wants to bet as to whether or not they'll keep the Character Derailment to stay in line with the book?

This looks fantastic, and I can't wait for it. A major with the latter two books was how disconnected they felt - a series of anecdotes rather than a cohesive story - and the film of Catching Fire did a great job of making everything fit together. I'm confident they can do the same with Mockingjay.

I'll be extremely disappointed if I'm wrong, since this has been a terrible year for films so far. Mockingjay's the only one I'm really looking forward to.

I have no idea what Character Derailment you are talking about.

[up][up] Guardians of the Galaxy? Days of Future Past? Captain America: Winter Solder? Muppets Most Wanted? LEGO Movie? Those were all great.

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!

Guardians was decent. Days of Future Past was decent. Lego Movie was entertaining - the lampshading was rather excessive, but I bought into the premise about the time the Millennium Falcon showed up.

But none of them were great. The Winter Soldier and Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes were the only ones I'd really call good. On the whole - Spider-Man, DOFP, Guardians, Godzilla - it's been disappointing, with a lot of movies that felt like they didn't live up to their full potential. Nothing that really stands out.

Catching Fire was my favourite film of last year, and I'm counting on Mockingjay to be my favourite this year.

It's a fancy bow with exploding arrows. No different than Hawkeye in the Avengers taking down Chitauri ships with arrows.

I can accept Hawkeye taking out Chitauri craft.

First single from the soundtrack is here.

Can't tell you how well it relates to the story, but I like the song itself.

[up] Eh... it does and it doesn't. I can see clear references to the book, but it goes its own way in parts. Hopefully, the movie(s) will do the same.

Just watched it yesterday. Out of the 12 cinemas in the mall I went to, 8 of them had Mockingjay Part 1 LOL. And after we left the cinema, the queue for tickets is still quite long. For obvious reasons they had "In Memory of Philip Seymour Hoffman" before the credits rolled in the end.

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.

Where exactly does the movie end and is that half way through the book or more than half?

It ends after they rescue Peeta and Katniss finds out he's been brainwashed.

I'm impressed with the students in Thailand (and concerned for them), and pleased that the movie is becoming a symbol for genuine political opposition to dictatorship.

[up][up]Less than half way through it. It only goes to chapter 12, when Peeta attacks Katniss.

Saw the movie. it was pretty good. I like the subtle ques that district 13 is taking advantage of katniss, such as when theyre in district 8 and the capital firebombs that hospital, or when Peeta, albeit brainwashed, warns her not to let people use her. also Pres. Snow sold tribute's bodies apparently ....

So I got into a heated debate with my brother after seeing the movie tonight. I'm of the opinion that they're developing Alma Coin, to have her become more and more ruthless and cold, rather than have already that way form the beginning like she was in the book. I hold this theory because Moore's Coin seems kinder, less power hungry than she was in the book, even comforting and kinda motherly at points. She just doesn't seem, at this point, like type to do the things she did in the last half of the book. And there's the subtle way the show her going from a no nonsense military leader who doesn't like speechifying, to giving the rousing speech at the end, becoming a more...political leader if that's right term. I'm thinking Part 2 is going to have get colder and more ruthless than she is now.

Am I the only one who saw that? Because my brother thinks I'm crazy XD

[up][up] I agree with your stance. I think it's intentional on the screenwriters part because if she started off as this ice cold leader, it would've led to the viewers questioning why Katniss is even bothering teaming up with them?

I saw the movie today. It was about as good as I thought it could have been considering the whole Part 1/Part 2 nonsense, but in all honesty, it could have been condensed. TBH, we're back exactly where we were last year at the end of Catching Fire only Peeta is crazy.
