Not at all, provided you're not gushy about it and the page is properly formatted and namespaced and has at least three non-ZCE trope examples.
In other words, you don't have any kind of special privilege. It's just another work page made by a troper, unless you go out of your way to identify yourself as the author. There is one unique restriction: you may not add your own YMMV or Audience Reaction items.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Also, Word of God must come from some source outside this wiki. As far as anyone here can tell, you're just another troper, so you can't make declarations of authorial intent. Post it somewhere else first, then Word of God can be included.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Minor correction to : If the YMMV item/audience reaction is being used in-universe by a character in the work, then it is considered a normal trope and the creator is free to add it. Just make sure the YMMV item doesn't already have an appropriate trope counterpart (for example, you wouldn't put Complete Monster as invoked, you would just put You Monster! instead).
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)I thought adding YMMV items for one's own works was merely discouraged, as opposed to forbidden outright. I've added items to YMMV and WMG for my own works, but only to document known opinions from readers of those works who don't happen to have accounts here. The opinions expressed in those entries aren't necessarily my own (perforce for the WMG entry, since I know whether or not the theory in question is correct) and I've been careful to keep the tone neutral.
Bigotry in the name of inclusion is still bigotry. It's everything short of outright forbidden. We'd prefer that those users come here and add their thoughts themselves; you don't need to speak for them. We don't believe in notability but we do believe in Wiki Magic: a work with relatively few followers simply won't attract anyone interested in editing its article. Trying to force the issue can be interpreted as you pimping your own work.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I didn't think pimping one's own work was considered a bad thing here, as long as one takes proper care to avoid gushing and shoehorning, and to observe example guidelines. And it's precisely because my works, being fanfics, are probably known to few tropers that I thought it reasonable to do things like report a major Base Breaker instead of waiting for someone else to do it.
Please note that I'm not trying to be difficult here, I'm merely articulating policies of this site as I understand them.
Bigotry in the name of inclusion is still bigotry.Crosswicking is a mandatory part of adding work pages (except for Unpublished Works), so you'd be safe as far as Entry Pimping is concerned.

Is it against the rules or considered bad form for the creator of an original work to create a trope page for their own product?
