The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls! The Inkling is trying to say his name I think. The cuteness was too much that it blew his mind.
He ded
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThat is adorable. Now I want to see that inkling say Bowser's name as Wowser.
We are all made of star stuff. Very, very weird star stuff.@Orion: I don't know what made me more angry, the number of times I died on that level or the fact that I didn't have to.
Reaction Image RepositoryAs for my strategy in Turf War, my main weapon is the Jet Squelcher. While my teammates rush ahead, I usually ink my way up a side path, claiming turf as I build up my special, then unleash a swarm of Tenta Missiles before jumping into the fray. Although I'm not quite as efficient at inking turf as I was in Splatoon 1, where my main weapon was the N-ZAP '89 (which had the Sprinkler as its sub-weapon back then).
In the heat of battle, I try to rely on the Jet Squelcher's long range to keep me out of trouble. I use my Toxic Mist sub-weapon to smoke out Charger-wielders from their perches, cut off the enemy's movement paths to herd or trap them in tight quarters, and debuff foes who are harassing my teammates to help them turn the tables. And, taking inspiration from the recent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Splatfest, I've also begun using it as a "Ninja Vanish" to help me put distance between myself and enemies that get in close to me and take advantage of my main weapon's long range.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever. The Squelchers are the dual pistols/SMGs, right? I really like those. Good mix of damage and ink range.
It's been fun.The Jet Squelcher is a single weapon. There is a dualie variant of it though.
As far as Turf War goes I mostly end up just experimenting with different types of weapons, though if I'm serious I'll usually go with either the Aerospray or Carbon Roller. Possibly the dualies if it's a particularly tight level with lots of enemy contact.
In ranked it depends on the mode and stage. In Splat Zones I usually go with either the Aerospray or the N-Zap depending on what kind of range I need. Tower Control I usually go with a Rapid Blaster; Rainmaker is usually either Rapid Blaster or N-zap. Clam Blitz I still haven't settled on. The Octobrush is usually a pretty good bet due to the speed and killing power, but I'm generally not a big brush user so I have to get used to it.

Reaction Image RepositoryIt's kind of odd. I am seeing plenty of Octolings online, but usually any given match will be only about half octopi or less. Nowhere near the mass extinction event people were predicting. I guess money and/or the sheer difficulty of the Octo campaign is a major barrier for a lot of people.
A couple months later
Octolings everywhere!

I called it, for what little that's worth.
Yeah, I haven't seen many Octolings around at all. Almost none last night.
It's been fun. When I streamed Splatoon 2 (which you can find here), 95% of my plaza was full of Octolings.
My Twitch.I am seeing significantly more Octarians in the plaza, but that only shows that more people who use the in-game posting feature have completed the Octo Expansion. Those who can't don't, and those who do but don't know that going pixel-by-pixel is the only way to turn in a decent art piece don't get the "fresh" votes needed to survive for long. It's usually only a few names that end up getting the votes and social media likes to appear on a regular basis (e.g. Trevor, Max D., Goldi, sometimes yours truly), most of whom have played the game enough to finish the Octo Expansion and unlock playable Octolings, hence the somewhat disproportionate representation.

I've been forcing myself to use the brush lately
It's growing on me actually
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'd say in my more recent matches the average ratio of Octolings to Inklings across both teams is generally around 3 to 5. There are usually at least two; I don't think I've played a match yet where I was the only Octoling. And in Salmon Run I've had a few all-Octoling teams.
I'm also wondering if it might be skewed by rank; higher ranked players are probably more able/likely to purchase the expansion (as they're likely on the older end of the player spectrum) and would also probably be able to beat it faster. There are also probably people who have beaten the expansion, but still want to play as Inklings for whatever reason.
Reaction Image RepositoryI don't know if this was brought up already but Pearl and Marina do something different if you zoom in on them as an Octoling than when you do it as an Inkling.
This song needs more love.I beat the expansion but am an Inkling ^^
The Protomen enhanced my life.I just want to let Agent 8 embrace capitalism and the power of looking cute as fuck.
It's been fun.I'm still debating on which team to choose. I like both kinds of Orange Juice, especially when I'm thirsty. And I like to get into the top ranks one day. On the other hand, I really want to do Team Battles.
I can almost guarantee you that non-pulp will win the popular vote. It's just a matter of whether or not the underdog rule applies. It's been broken before.
She forgot that important part of Octoling biology

The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!Something I just realized is that Agent 8 is our first story character that didn't play the "hero" part for most of the story. Agents 3 and 4 jumped in with the idea of recovering the zapfish and stoping the Octavio's invasion plans, while Agent 8 just wanted to get the hell out of the Deepsea Metro with Cuttlefish and get to Inkopolis.
Now the final stretch, on the other hand...

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."My basic thought was "she fought so hard to get here, I should let her enjoy some sunlight"

I don't get it.
