LGD doesn't apply only to background characters. Check out Quotes.Lets Get Dangerous to see examples in action that are mostly of the protagonist.

From the description they sound (to me) like they are the same trope. The Canonical List of Subtle Trope Distinctions explains the difference between Badass Bystander and Heroic Bystander. But as far as I can tell, the only difference between Heroic Bystander and Let's Get Dangerous! is that the former is about background non-characters, and the latter is about minor characters. Is that really the only distinction? And is that really enough to make it a separate trope?
