Beta Reader Thread

There should be a thread for people looking for someone to beta-read their fic (and a quick search for 'Beta' did not yield well), or people who want to advertise themselves as beta-readers, and for others to recommend betas' who've been a great help to them in the past, and are still active. Lord knows there's hundreds of betas on FFN that are plain inactive, and FFN refuses to update these lists to remove all of the inactive ones.

For those unaware, a beta-reader is basically a peer editor, someone to read your fic, tell you what sucks and what doesn't suck, and help you revise it. Usually they describe whether they're good with syntax, diction, spelling, grammar, etc, and what they're not good with, whether that's characterization, themes, or pacing, or etc.

I'm presently looking for Beta readers, but unfortunately the two I've contacted here so far are apparently unavailable, at least as far as I can tell.

Don't the various fandom-specific threads work like this already? The pony one does, at any rate.

Don't assume every thread is like that. All of the ones I've seen are purely idea discussion.

I'm looking for a beta reader myself as well. I managed to get one a year ago but he bailed out after one chapter. I need to know if I'm that bad or he really had real-life issues.

Well, they should work like that. It's a lot easier to find interested prereaders etc. if you know going in that you're in the right fandom. For that reason, I don't see a general fanfic prereader thread (like this one) having much merit; if you come in here looking for prereaders for your Astérix fanfic, and I'm a prereader but I'm only interested in Tintin fanfiction, we're not going to be of any use to each other.

Is this thread still alive? It's been inactive for a few months, but we've revived worse, right?

Anyway, looking for beta readers for two separate stories. One is an A Certain Magical Index Slice of Life story about a bunch of MISAKA Sisters, and the other is a re-telling of Infinite Stratos from the beginning, minus Ichika.

Strangely been dead for a while.

Hn. I'd ask for one, but I don't know if Macross Frontier peeps are around here to help beats read if I ask.

I'm gonna need backup. It could help with my speed in writing a crossover story; I'm not sure I can say why, but things have been pretty slow for me lately.

Requirements for my backup beta reader(s), as is the case with my regular beta reader, are as follows:

1. A fairly advanced knowledge of ballet;
2. A great deal of patience; and
3. At least decent familiarity with the franchises for which I'm writing any of my stories.

Asking for beta assistance soon since I'm doing a rewrite for Project x Zone 2, just without Nintendo characters and rewriting the story in a sense to give some peeps from Capcom/BN/Sega a chance to shine while relegating some to the background.

Help wanted for my JJBA/Evangelion crossover fic. I'm working on the next chapter after taking a 2-month hiatus. Familiarity with both franchises is preferred.
