That looks like the one from 2000 is a tribute or cover album rather than something that people thought was new but was really older than they thought.
But I like the concept.... Something like that could work.

Yeah, I've known "We Will Rock You" since well before 2000. Anecdotal, but I'm not sure how much it works as such.

That still isn't quite an example; those are all directly homaging the earlier thing. We need an image showing somebody not realizing that said new thing isn't original.
