I think that Baraka making the cut as playable character is highly unlikely, the stream heavily implied that the Tarkatan arm Erron carries around on his Outlaw stance is Baraka's.
Shinnok seems to have part of MK 9!Shang Tsung's moveset so I don't see him as likely.
Edit: So what attack from each fighter do you think he will copy?

Do you mean besides the 4 DLC characters that are part of the Kombat Pack?
Frost seems possible and Sindel is already in story mode, so i can see her being a DLC character.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"You consider that a heavy implication. I consider it a joke.
There's a bunch of characters who are in story mode who aren't going to be making the cut. Why Sindel?
She's one of Quan Chi's renevants, so that at least could make it plausible.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"But why is she any more likely than anyone else who we know is in the story but may not be playable? Why Sindel and not, say, Rain?
Rain's a glorified extra to be fair. Sindel is the former queen of Eternia if my MK lore's right.
Edenia actually, but otherwise correct.
However, he's also a fan-favourite, whereas the fandom's opinion of Sindel has plummeted since the infamous scene in MK9 where she killed everybody.
If there's only one more character making it in as DLC after the Kombat Pack four, and Goro, then Sindel is an odd choice, is what I'm saying.
I don't even know why people hate Sindel for that. Like, sure, it's a shitty scene (and this is coming from someone who loves MK 9's story). What does that have to do with Sindel? Replace her with anyone and you get the same effect.
Anyway, just caught the Erron Black trailer, and holy shit holy shit fucking amazing.
But it was Sindel, so it's Sindel that gets the flack for it. If it had just pretty much anyone else, then it would have been them. Fandoms aren't really rational.
And yeah, Erron Black is totally badass. His X-Ray actually made me cringe and go "OH!" in public.
Rain was already a DLC character in the last game. It would be odd to have him as DLC again.
And i've seen people ask for Sindel, so clearly her popularity didn't fall that much.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"So I can finally have a Cowboy fight a Ninja in Mortal Kombat.
To think, just 5-6 games ago, there might've been Shoto Clone's of Erron Black.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I'm really digging Liu Kang. He seem a bit cockier and a lot more confident. I was afriad he was just going to end up an asshole.
I'm reminded of how Liu Kang was supposedly disliked by the creators, and how he became an antagonist in Mortal Kombat Legacy.
Since he pretty much took down Shao Kahn on his own, I'm curious which of the good guys can actually stand up to him.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I seriously do not understand 'fandom' sometimes. What was their expectations? Heroes live triumph and those who oppose or hinder the heroes get hated? Isn't that why they still like it when Raiden get reminded of his failure, and think Raiden was a complete idiot for not deciphering the message faster?
What the hell is this super high expectations?
I think in Sindel's case it's more that she unceremoniously slaughters almost all the heroes in one short scene. It's just kind of lame seeing characters you might be rooting for getting a fleet of bridges dropped on them by one person.

Its really a failure of the Choreography... of them attacking one at a time and Sindel just dealing casual deathblows.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I think it's beyond that. I think it's more like "How DARE you do this bad thing to my favorite!"
Favorite characters are like the holy grail of Woobie that should not be touched and woe betide those mean to them?
Yeah, I think the problem with that scene was more of "how could this one character kill off all my favorites at once?" than anything else. Especially since, power level-wise, Sindel not only had her normal abilities from her resurrection, but also all the souls that had powered Shang Tsung. No wonder she was able to pull it off.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)I don't think this applies only on that one scene in 9 or MK in general. It could as well happen to any other media. If a character goes against what the audience perceives to be good or smart... then they're to be hated or called idiot.
Just take Raiden for example. Why do people still think what he does is stupid in general? Do they even know the term 'tragedy'? Do they think that Raiden should share the vision of the players?
You also have to take into account, That Sindel's Massacre... is the first major fight she is in from being raised.
If Sindel had basically picked off say one or two of the heroes, just enough to establish that she's not to be ****ed with and then got Shang and Motaro as power buffs. It wouldn't be so jarring.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! The scene was ridiculous. It's never been implied that Sindel was ever that powerful. Yeah, Shao Kahn gave her Tsung's essence, but this didn't automatically mean she'd be able to wipe the floor with everyone. Heck, Kung Lao took on Quan Chi and Tsung at the same time and won.
Then she walks in, ignores Johnny and Sonya for some reason, and throws away the rest like breakfast she didn't order. Like they just wanted to kill off those characters because they didn't know what else to do with them. If they'd paced it better, maybe had her hunt them down, instead of having them all survive an ambush and then get decimated, it wouldn't be so left field.
Then to top it off, Nightwolf suddenly becomes the most badass member of the team (a la not dying instantly) and finishes her off with a suicide attack a move ripped from Captain Marvel.
And we're left with the impression that this only happened because Raiden and Liu Kang left, making the rest of the kombatants seem worthless.
It's great for shock value, but it's pure Diabolus ex Machina. I don't hate Sindel for it. They probably ran out of time when they were working on that part of the story mode. Anybody else notice the way Shao Kahn stutters when he says, "Today... I will be THE-THE Elder God!"

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Is it not implied that Shang Tsung can't use most of his immense Soul Power due to having to use it to not age to death in a second? I seem to recall that being part of his bio at some point. Cursed with having to steal souls to keep himself alive after stealing a soul for the first time.
Someone without that drawback getting the collected power should be really powerful.
Probably a combination of that and genuinely wanting to show the practice stage and killing two birds with one stone.
So there's four empty slots left on the stream's character select screen. We know of four more characters than they're currently showing (Jacqui, Sonya, Jax, and Kenshi). So whether or not there's more characters depends on whether there's actually a random fighter square in the final game, and whether Goro is keeping that corner spot to lead into the DLC folder the way Cyber Sub-Zero did in 9. Or, there's one more character and Goro is a placeholder for the fighter that actually goes in that spot, since he himself is DLC, while Cyber Sub-Zero was not.
Assuming this is our final roster, who do you think will be DLC alongside Goro? Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if we got Shang Tsung, just so every character from the original game is in the tenth instalment (with Kuai Liang taking his brother's place, of course). Alternatively Baraka will be DLC, explaining that achievement image (since Goro is in one as well).
