holding a character for DLC pre-order with the game still about over 7 months away is just bullshit...and to anybody who supports this especially if you didn't learn the lesson with MK 9 and Injustice and don't wait for the Komplete/Ultimate Edition...it's you who is killing gaming...

I guess. I mean I'm getting the game on release so I'll pre-order. Don't feel like waiting on a komplete edition since I actually play the games competitively so waiting wouldn't be prudent for me.

The reason companies do this is because people actually got smart and just bought used copies or waited. Companies mostly get most of their money on release day so to curb people buying the game later they add early DLC and Pre-Order bonuses.

if you think like that,then tell me:if somebody decides to get into Marvel vs. Capcom 3 now,how is he going to play as Jill and Shuma-Gorath?If you are going to include pre-order incentives,don't do this IN-GAME,especially if it is an essential content like a playable character.Hell,I remember their limited editions of Deception and Armageddon,those were legitimate pre-order stuff.

Seriously,people should just stop trying to justify these practices:Did Namco-Bandai lose money for giving free DLC characters in Tekken Tag 2(although it's more Harada's merits than Namco's,because the company is actually one of the most abusive ones when it comes to DLC in video games).So what if they need to recover the money they lose with used games?why should somebody who buys games at day 1 and pay the full price should get screwed up by that?and dealing with the pre-order is always a pain in the ass.Codes usually don't redeem imediately after I receive them,or a more extreme example:The PSN incident happened pretty much when MK 9 was released.Do you have any idea how long people had to wait to redeem their pre-order codes to get access to the Klassic Kostumes and Klassic Fatalities?

Yeah I hate the pre-order dlc bs also (and character dlc in general). But it's already been decided long ago that people are willing to put up with it sadly.

yeah,it's a shame that the bosses weren't playable in MK 9.It wasn't fair that they had such awesome fatalities if we couldn't use them.

Pre-Order DLC has one thing going for it; it does provide incentive to buy the game new, which is better for the people who actually put years of hard work into it. If you're going to get the game day 1 anyway, then the pre-order DLC doesn't matter either, and for the people who don't want to risk the pre-order DLC to go Lost Forever, it might push them over the edge.

Dude the mvc3 thing happened because Capcom lost the license and they had to remove all things related to marvel. I doubt they'll lose Go to anytime soon and it hasn't happened to any other fighter.

Tekken had pre-order characters too and at specific retailers where you only got certain characters. Even with free characters Namco dropped tekken pretty much soon after (1 month)

If you can redeem shit then that's an issue outside of the dlc itself really. Shit happens.
