Who owns the movie rights to Ash? Part of the reason we get so many horror characters is that Warner owns a ton of them.

Evil Dead is a New Line Cinema franchise so no luck there unless a deal gets worked out.

New Line was willing to cooperate when it came to the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash comic series. With the success of the Evil Dead TV series, you don't think they'd view it as being worth the compromise to put him in a popular video game?

Huh. When you put it like that, they would be up for that.

That depends on how willing they are to allow him to be mutilated. Mortal Kombat is a very violent game.

Like, DC made a fuss about that when Netherrealm wanted to make Mortal Kombat v. DC Universe. They were cool with their heroes being murdered but drew the line at Batman or Superman tearing other people's heads off, so Netherrealm had to create nonlethal "Heroic Brutalities" for them.

You could always start a twitter hashtag like people did for the Alien and the cyborgs. Call it something like #AshVSAlienVSPredatorVSJason.

Have you ever seen an Evil Dead movie? I mean, he always survives, sure, but this is the character who cut off his own possessed hand with a chainsaw in the second movie (and later attached the chainsaw to the stump).

I have, but as you said, he always survives.

Some writers get testy when you ask them for permission to brutally murder their characters.

Given the tone of Evil Dead, I'm going to go out on a limb and say "not this time."

Isn't New Line owned by Warner Bros? I thought they were since Warner Bros got the rights to franchises like Lord of the Rings and Nightmare on Elm Street after New Line lost a ton of money on The Golden Compass. Perhaps there wouldn't be any rights issues with using Ash if that's the case.

They did have to make compromises for Kratos. Can't have the symbol of machoism emasculated, after all.

It seems there's a few hints that MKX's netcode is gonna be overhauled to use GGPO. I hope that's the case, GGPO is wonderful for fighting games.

Given that he ends that tweet with "Peace Out," I doubt there's more content. Just updates and stuff.

Tobias: which is funny consider the kind of crap DC have already put their own chararter at regular basis, Also boon managed to slip some of MK taste in Injustice.

Not, strictly speaking, the thread for this, but I'm really hoping for an announcement of Injustice 2 by the end of the year.

With both Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad on the way (And not even counting their TV Shows like Legends of Tomorrow) I'd be shocked if it didn't get announced this year.

Given I don't play online or competitively.... shrug.

And everyone, don't be surprised at this, MK 9 had a Komplete Edition after all.

- Erron's new costume is dope, very Mad Max.

- Xenomorph has an acid blood variant because duh.

- His fatality though!

- Leatherface has a voice <!!!>

- Best Pit fatality yet, I think those are NRS members as the NPC heads.

Sounds like that confirms that KP 2 is the last DLC. Ultimate editions with all the DLC packaged in them don't tend to come out until all the DLC has been released.

Most of the team is probably working on Injustice 2. The netcode being redone is the kind of thing that pretty much says "we are working on another game that will also use it and don't want it to have the same problems as our last one".
