I am not the first user to bring this up (As seen in the Discussion tab of the Bitch in Sheep's Clothing page) "Bitch" Is a gendered insult. It implies femininity, even when one uses the word against a male person. The trope is about a person who is kind on the outside and mean on the inside. Gender is not necessary at all.

Surely we are a community that is creative enough to think of a title that doesn't use gendered slurs?

Edit: Why not Ass in Sheeps Clothing? Still sorta follows the format of (Animal) in (Other Animal's) clothes. And "Ass" is gender neutral!

You're right, this isn't the first time it's been brought up, See the earlier TRS thread here

The telling points in the earlier discussion are that

  • how insulting "bitch" is varies wildly depending on the circumstances, context, and persons using it and hearing it.
  • that the only people "bitch" is being applied to here are fictional characters, not real people.
  • that the name is a pun on "wolf in Sheep's Clothing that changing to some other animal or word will kill.

Declining to open.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
