Oh the Collector Adept. The name and effect escaped me because I only remember the name Dark Channel for that biotic power.
So I just came across this ME1 trailer from E3 2006. It's a very different from the final product:
Ah yes, the original thing I had seen many years ago which I was wondering where I could see it again xP
Since I just found this, huh. I like these concept arts xD
Like this unusued design◊, it does kinda hit all uncanny points you need to make as gross alien as possible :P If it was legal, I should totally steal this design for something xP
I find this version of Shadow Broker amusing◊. Though the artist fav version was also pretty cool.
I mean, I do like Yawgh, but it kinda makes me feel like "Wait, so how come on nobody realized shadow broker has fly face?" I mean, Yawgh stand out espicially much
Checking out Tali's face concept arts that range from human looking to really uncanny, I have to agree with artist that original ME 1 version is the best◊ :P Really pity the Tali romance and how it become "big deal" resulted in that they didn't ever use the original one.
(I also like the "Shepard gone Saren" concept art :p It has delicious irony)

...that original Tali image is now canon to me.
I mean, damn, that fits! The minute I see it, it all comes together: she's pale because she's spent her whole life in the suit, it's human-ish without being too human or too alien. And her having no hair makes sense because it would likely get in the way of the suit.
Also: Jacks with itty-bitty pigtails. Whut.
Ye, thats why I said its pity quarian face wasn't established in first game when they didn't think about it too much :P The original concept clearly was thought out, but after Tali become popular and fans become obsessed with her face, devs started to over think about it
Well, she's also not a mammal, but whatevs. Agreed on preferring that design over slightly-edited stock photo.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI would've liked that to be Tali's face too, but with hair-tentacles like asari, but not exactly like asari. Pale, weirdly-colored eyes, and hair-tentacles somewhat like a combination of hair, asari and twi'lek (sp?).
I never saw Tali's true face anyway - I romanced Liara, so moot point, but it could be important if 4 goes for quarians who have speed-evolved to not need their suits all the time.
noisivelet naht nuf erom era srorrimHair-tentacles wouldn't really work with the shape of quarian helmets.
And count me as someone who much prefers that quarian design, too.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Funnily enough, one of three designs concept artist mentions does have hair tentacles :P But yeah, that would have been just as dumb as what we got in my opinion due to helmet reasons
I find human like concept art pretty confusing btw. I mean, her hair is white and skin is pale white which fits the never see the sun look, but she appears to have black eyebrowy things which is just... Weird <_< Anyway, even though I don't like that design either, at least it would have been better than final one that looks pretty human like skin color plus dark hair despite living entire life without having contact with sun

I like that Quarian design.
Hell, I actually think that gross Alien might have been a great squadmate.
An alien from a culture that's almost completely inscrutable to the outside galaxy, only worsened by their grotesque appearance. They have it as bad as Quarians and Krogan because of their bizarre appearance and society. But despite all that, they have a perfectly functioning society that is at peace with the galaxy they are simply shunned for being monstrous and too different.
We could have met him in ME 2 on Omega, "he" is an infamous bounty hunter called the Nightmare or something imposing enough and upon first meeting he completely freaks out everyone in the party... but then it is revealed that despite all that he is perfectly polite and respectful and tries to fit in with everyone. His real name is unpronounceable and someone gives him an innocuous nickname. The in-game version of the suit covers up more of his fleshy body but there is obviously something off in his manner of movement and speech.
Everyone is averted to him besides the more tranquil Samara, Thane, and EDI (and later Legion). Everyone else is freaked out by him and either avoids him or is paranoid about being attacked by him. Shepard can either ignore him mostly or try and talk to him and learn of his tragic background. Eventually Shepard can either encourage him to embrace being a Nightmare or helps him get rid of all his baggage and start to be accepted. He returns in the third game and he and his people can be recruited as a frightening army against Cerberus and the Reapers.
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherI think that's actually supposed to be a Huskified Quarian.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!^Concept artist states it to be unused alien design that was designed to be as impossible to humans empathize(sp?) with as possible :P (he even states that if the concept had been used, he would have hoped that you can see moving mass of eyes and teeth behind the mask)
Also, concept artist has later reaper drone concepts so yeah, no its not husk quarian

I like that idea.

I was thinking about just purchasing the Mass Effect Trilogy set off ebay but a guy on Amazon said it didn't include DLC for ME 2 while ME 3 assumes you played and know of the DLC from ME 2.
I was browing the PS Store and saw it had a "Mass Effect 2 Ultimate Edition" which is the same as DAO Ultimate Edition and comes with DLC. But to buy it on PSN costs $35 for just that game. A bit too pricy for me right now.
But I was looking on ebay and damned near every copy of Mass Effect 2 I can find looks like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mass-Effect-2-Sony-Playstation-3-2011-/221646515194?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item339b296bfa
Does that "hours of bonus missions" mean it's the Ultimate Edition with all the DLC?
DLC really adds up in terms of price. ME 3 alone will cost me $50 for all of it.
Huh? I thought Trilogy had all dlc besides third game's dlc...
They really need to make a Trilogy pack that includes all the DLC. I've managed to pick most of the story DLC up piecemeal (first run I only had Cerberus Network, From Ashes and Citadel, second run I had everything but Overlord thanks to a sale on Mass Effect DLC on Xbox Live).
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Oh, well, sweet, some of the DLC I was wondering about is automatically included in all PS 3 versions of ME 2. I'm so gonna make fun of my GF and her "Xbox Rules!" stuff after this. http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_Content
Bring Down the Sky is also included in ME Trilogy set. So....yeah, definitely just gonna get that.
Looks like the most expensive DLC I'll have to worry about is ME 3's. All I need from 2 is Arrival.

Honestly, all you need from 3 is Citadel and maybe Leviathan. Don't bother with Omega unless you're getting it in any kind of package deal or something.
Also, from 2, get Lair of the Shadow Broker, just for the sheer good value. I don't think not buying Overlord would be too much of a bother, but if you're playing ME 2, you have to buy Lot SB.
Also, I just hope they remake the entire trilogy for next gen (and release it for PC as well), all DLC integrated and everything. Fewer bugs would also be nice.

noisivelet naht nuf erom era srorrimtwo and three are on PC aren't they? Going back to one is a bit of a slog honestly. I think I've tried four or five times and I just can't get into it.
Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?Arrival is the only DLC for 2 that doesn't come on the PS 3 trilogy collection. Nikkolas has Shadowbroker and all that jazz. Javik and Citadel are the must haves for 3, as much as it pisses me off to have to pay for Javik. Leviathen is hit-or-miss, but is story-relevant, and I agree that Omega is nothing but a Godforsaken slugfest.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI liked Omega.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!Omega is good, just not $15 good. If you got some extra cash lying around then go for it. Otherwise hey youtube is free.
#IceBearForPresidentI got it on sale.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!
It's a slow-moving sphere that does damage over time and primes targets, but you can detonate it for massive damage. I always went with the explosion evolutions, since DOT is for babies and there's a bug with those evolutions anyway (the DOT evolutions raise the total damage, but they also raise the time over which they take effect, meaning that it lasts longer but it does less damage per second). Oh, and the (long) cooldown doesn't kick in until you detonate it, so you can use Dark Sphere, Dark Channel, detonate with a swarm, then set it off for absurd damage.
