Ambiguous Name (titles crowner 7/4/14): The Last Horse Crosses The Finish Line

I stumbled across this trope the other day in an index and clicked on it just to see what on earth the name was getting at. The trope itself is relatively simple and common but seems to have been languishing in obscurity for years, probably due to Trope Namer Syndrome. The YKKTW history also seems to indicate it was a rushed launch (at least, judging by the replies and edits; I think it only shows a single hat because it predates the hats system).

(This is the first thread I've created here, by the way; I hope I didn't mess it up.)

This one has multiple problems...the name is horrible, and there are several ZC Es that need expanding.

Aye, rename this trope. The name makes me think of something like Underdogs Never Lose. Also, the description sounds like Failed a Spot Check - that needs fixing.

I like Late to the Realization as well. I'll add it as a redirect for now.

Any more ideas for a new name? Should I make a Single Proposition crowner about the rename or go straight for an Alternative Titles crowner?

Is it even possible to make an alternate titles crowner with only one option? I still haven't been able to think up any names other than Late to the Realization, and no one else has come up with any suggestions either.

It rolls off the tongue better, although it could be confused with Late to the Punchline so IDK. Only Just Understanding,Only Just Now Understanding, Realised Just Now, Only Realised Now, Just Dawned On Me, Just Dawned On Him, Delayed Understanding, Understood Comedically Late?

Last To Catch On, Last To Catch On In The Room, Last To Get The Joke - which does resemble Late to the Punchline... Hmm... This resembles Late to the Punchline but faster, able to include somber realizations, and with more savvy people present? General subset of Delayed Reaction...

Slowest Realization... He Who Laughs Last... Catches On But Not Quick... Longer To Ponder...

An off-beat suggestion: Why not pull the name from the page quote, and call it The Slow Thinker?
