I've heard different stories of what those nails meant (some say it represented currency, or independence, or that they really were just nails, like in that comic), but everybody agrees that the five shields came from a regular shield that was torn by so much war and fighting. It's pretty badass, in a way.
Huh, what's wrong with our current flag? (Other than the asymmetry, I mean)
I'd say you have a point, but Polandball goes for offensive as much as it can. I've seen stereotypical portrayals of Muslims and Jews that I'd classify as worse than the portrayal of Roma/Gypsies, and even the most violent conflicts are made into comics ("Remove Kebab" is a thing, after all).
Also, I think I have seen comics with an "African-American" ball before (I just don't remember when. Might've been the Baltimore riots, but I'm not sure). I can't find any at the moment, though.
It's now Independence Day here in the Philippines so the Polandball subreddit reflects that...

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Common complaints I have seen are:
- The shield and the 'esfera armilar' are too detailed.
- The green and the red clash and 'annul' each other.
I can also see some weird nostalgia for the white and blue flag in the general Portugal sub-reddit.
Indeed.
You guys sure got prepared in advance. We didn't have any of that fancy stuff for our day.

Say, are there any good comics about Macedonia's name dispute?

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over. Not bad. Personally, I would've mixed the stuff Philippines says with some Polan-speak, but it works that way as well, I suppose. Have you proposed/submitted it to the r/polandball sub-reddit (dunno about their specific rules, though)?

... Wow. I do hope there will be a continuation for this one.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. That's legitimately frickin' scary. Reichtangle, yes?
Indeed.
Me too.

Lol at Nando's being closed due to excessive cheekiness.
Damn, the noir one is good.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.The Making Friends one was really funny. I take it that the big HRE-ball is supposed to be a stand-in for whichever country is the Holy Roman Emperor within a particular time frame?
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I think technically the Holy Roman Emperor was not a specific country at a time. Its was an *empire*. While the dynasties changed it was always the Holy Roman Empire (as opposed to the roman empire)
"You can reply to this Message!"Yeah, but some of the Holy Roman Emperors were more influential and managed to hold more centralized power than others before and/or after them. Surely that reflected on how the Empire behaved internally and externally. After all, a Bohemian emperor must have had some different priorities when it comes to their rule, compared to a Habsburgian emperor.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Eurozone Crisis: Iceland◊. Keep in mind that Iceland is not part of the Eurozone (or even the EU).
Eurozone Crisis: Ireland's dream◊.

True, but they had a bigger autonomy, due to having a different currency and not being under the diktats of the ECB. Not to mention that they've increased their trade with some non-European countries, China being the major case).
I know this is probably a deeply unpopular opinion, but am I the only one who never liked how Gypsyball is portrayed? I mean, I understand that Polandball makes fun of everyone universally, but racism against the Romani are still pretty strong even to this day, and a lot of the stereotypes used in comics are used in real-life justifications for hate crimes and discrimination. I mean, just think how bad taste (and not in a good way) it would be if there was an African-Americanball that was a violent thug that had too many kids and constantly demanded America give him welfare money. I'm sorry if I sound like I sound like a Tumblr SJW right now, especially for a topic as politically incorrect as Polandball, but I have to get it off my chest.

Halper's Law: as the length of an online discussion of minority groups increases, the probability of "SJW" or variations being used = 1.
