No. Mammoth.
Hell, make a huge BTB map with Mammoths, Scorpions, Wraiths, Liches, Hornets, Falcons, Banshees, Phantoms, Ghosts, Warthogs...
Scarabs, Harvesters, Assault Carriers, Fortress-class...
Borne By StormsHalos.
Heh.
That would have been a cool Invasion gametype.
Elites guarding the Control Room while Spartans assault it and attempt to shut down the activation. If the game ends and the Spartans fail everyone keels over.
Pity there's no Invasion in Halo 5. I think.
Borne By StormsHonestly if a gametype includes Pelicans and Mammoths you're getting into Star Wars: Battlefront / Battlefield territory. It would be immensely cool but not quite the Halo format. It has been on the cusp of that, Halo was one of the first games to have drop-in/drop-out vehicles, but the focus is still primarily close combat shooting.
How about a fight on Mongooses and you're not allowed to get off the Mongoose?
How 'bout a fight WITH Mongooses? Where they let us use them like melee weapons now like that one Spartan in that one book did.
I would like to use a mongoose to pull a Captain America.

Borne By StormsMake sure there's plenty of room on your HD.
60GB huh. I should be good on that front. Literally the only thing on my X Box (with 500GB HDD) is Master Chief Collection and the FFXV demo.
I'm going to have to check mine when I get home. Black Flag and Unity, the MCC, Mad Max...
While on the subject, gonna have to shamelessly shill for the latter. Great game.
Borne By StormsMost of my games are just Arcade games that I can uninstall and then put back in later.
Unless you work for the publisher or the developer, it's not shilling.
Ah, guess I've spent too much time on /v/.
Still a kickass game, though.
Borne By StormsThe gaming community on the internet has become so divided that unless it's a popular game you'll be called a shill for saying anything positive about it.
CIP: The new Battlefront game.
Just had another idea on Halo 6.
Master Chief "dies" just as Superman "died" in What Ever Happened To The Man Of Tomorrow. With people seeing John's face for the first time as an anonymous person on some colony.
Chief, and probably Blue team, are probably going to end up dead or ascended to a higher plane of existence by the end of Halo 6. If their is even the slightest chance of having him back people will be clamoring to play as him again. However I find it difficult to believe that Microsoft will stop making Halo's after Halo 6, so maybe they were lying about ending Cheif's story.
I Bring Doom, and a bit of gloom, but mostly gloom.@New Trailer:
Enough already! The hype train is in full runaway! I want this game! Quit making me want it more!
Yeah, and I'm pretty okay with ending Chief's story after this set of games. The poor guy's gotta have some damn rest. If he keeps this up we'll be playing Halo 8: PTSD - the adventures of Master Chief and his battle with therapy and alcoholism.
If they want to continue making games, maybe have it like 100 years afterward, when a stable galactic society involving human-alien interaction has been firmly established. With more alien species introduced of course.

Borne By StormsI still think a good way to end the series would be a quartet of scarred humans farming on some quiet colony world. We pan out as they head inside their house, done for the day, and we see a fencepost with an old, scarred MJOLNIR helmet on it.
Does this thread also count as a Halo General discussion? I've become disillusioned with the newer Halos a while ago (and my Xbox 360 broke a while. I don't feel like getting a new 360 and I don't care the new consoles. I'd rather buy a better computer with the money.), but I still play Halo Custom Edition semi regularly. Is it okay to bring in stuff like that or should I make a general Halo thread to discuss some of the things I want?
Hail to the King of Feraligatrs! Shameless advertisingI'd say it's okay for stuff like that.
Okay, thanks. Like many who play the Halo franchise, we all know the friendly AI is pretty awful. Luckily I have a personal mod to rectify that, the Awesome Halo Marines!/Elites!/etc. (yes, the exclamation mark is part of the name.).
Video example of the Awesome Marines!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvkLJu4O4pM .
These guys are way too overpowered for me to consider them anything but personal use people. There's no way I'd suggest the Halo developers use friendly AI like this. Maybe the tactical parts of their AI ore okay; but their killing power, accuracy, inability to be killed, etc. is out of the question. I just wanted to do a project whee I redeem the Marines and I'd say I succeeded well. These guys are fucking amazing to me.
This video is outdated. I have since moved to Halo Custom Edition for modding. I have also found a different model for the AM!s (to differentiate them from the normal Marines) and tweaked their AI a bit. They are a bit smarter now.
I consider this simple project one of the greatest things I've done in my pathetic life and would love feedback on them
