As the trope pages puts it, it's not always a bad thing :P
But I would suppose well done examples of introducing political opinions in a work could be such that the readers don't even notice it happened, or happened over the course of many years (thus being noticeable except slow).
And, of course, there are a myriad of debatable examples that could go one way or another.
Also at no point I was going to disagree with what you said, but I did misread it before writing this. I guess I should rather say "I was not going to disagree with what I thought you had said, and I still am not now that I've reread what you said." Which is to say "I'm not disagreeing with you" :P (I mean, you're talking about your personal experience, I don't think I know you well enough to refute your comment about yourself :P)
" I never got the impression that Sinatra vs Mercury was supposed to be one-sided, as has been an opinion I've seen around."
because Sinatra try to play the bigot card and Freddy turn him around, his second verse is pretty much another "you fuck up bi" he avert that, also is the second time a gay or bi said is proud of their sexuality(said is dumbludore vs Gandalf) so as rule of thump, using homophobic diss dosent work here.
"Unless you meant towards Walt Disney in the last one, but if so I think that was done very well."
Think is, Walt didnt diss in any of them or prove he was superior, he just come of nowhere and said they are part of him, he look like whimsical Borg, making him creepy awsome
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"The Walt Disney scene was meant as biting the hand humor towards Maker, the company who owns ERB. Maker happens to be owned by Disney.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? Also this is more disney the company, who is see as shady(and aparenly it kind of is) unlike disney the creator who is closet to both Jim and Stan
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Here's how I read Lee vs. Henson:
Lee: "I'm gonna destroy you!"
Henson: "I'm too perfect to descend to that level."
Lee: "I'm sorry. I crossed a line. You're my hero."
Henson: "I forgive you."
Disney: "You better, bitches! That mirth factory isn't gonna run itself!"
Fresh-eyed movie blogto have to remenber that both Hensen and Stan throw low blow at each other(Stan for taking credit of other peope work and Henson from droping his wife)
And Disney is more like " your resistence is futilie, prepared to be assimilate....AND THAT IS GOOD :D"
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"What? Jim Hensen dispenses some truly savage burns, and them making up is made up of a mutual respect for each other, not Stan admitting any fault. I mean, he does do that, but that isn't the focus of the scene.
I remember Henson's side as being 90% "I believe in you as an amazing artist" and 10% "you did a great job signing Jack Kirby's stuff."
Fresh-eyed movie blogAnd the Jack Kirby thing was a low blow and kinda dumb.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? That's like the main thing people know about Stan Lee other than that he appears in every single Marvel movie these days. Lee had these vague ideas and left it to the artists to make it happen.
Fresh-eyed movie blogDebatable. Spider-Man, for example, was mostly Lee's idea.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?"Henson: "I'm too perfect to descend to that level."
Is less that and more "you are and angry and foolish man" them he go into "You wont survive my mad rap skills"
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"He's just 10000% wise and serene and loving.
Fresh-eyed movie blogI didn't mind how the Henson vs. Lee one went, because I don't feel that one was meant to paint one as clearly "better" than the other.
Henson came off as rather passive-aggressive to me.

Yeah, Jim is extremely passive-aggressive and sarcastic.
I like to think Jim was insulting with class and Kermit gave some pretty good disses.
Not sure if these have been brought up before, but:
I have some juicy info on the next half of the season if anybody would like to get in on it. If you doubt my authenticity, remember I correctly stated Alexander the Great would be in the mid season finale, so I'm almost sort of reputable kind of. But you know, i understand if you have your doubts: all you can to do is wait and seeeee.
Ash Ketchum vs Charles Darwin is all but officially in, with Peter as Darwin. Not 100% on who's playing Ash but right now it's likely to be a Japanese-American improv actor named Brian Walters. Possible Lloyd comes in as Professor Oak, but not confirmed
Donald Trump vs Hillary Clinton is very likely, with Clinton outright confirmed. It may take on a slightly different format than just Trump v Clinton, though, but I'm not sure about the specifics.
As a bit of a curveball battle, Wonder Woman vs Stevie Wonder seems very likely, with Superwoman/Lilly Singh as Wonder Woman and a guy named Shammy Dee as Stevie. We also have a few possible lines, such as Stevie saying WW's invisible jet means nothing to him when everything is invisible.
we also have possible hints towards Attila the Hun, Conan the Barbarian, and Winston Churchill, but I don't think anything's concrete there yet.

"And kung fu is a terrible way to run a company" - alliteratorNeed to fix the last one.
Thanks, got a faulty keyboard here.
"And kung fu is a terrible way to run a company" - alliteratorHuh, I might skip some of these, to be honest.
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen. For a second I was worried about how they'd handle this, but I liked it.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?
Yeah. Politics as a core element of a work is fine. Shoehorning the author's opinions in never works out.
