My favorite was Ed, Edd n Eddy.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureThe four best CN toons were, in my opinion, Cow And Chicken, The Grim Adventures Of Billy And Mandy, Johnny Bravo and Courage The Cowardly Dog.
Cow And Chicken for being a great piece of surrealist comedy. Billy And Mandy for being a great dark comedy. Johnny Bravo for being one of CN's funniest shows. And Courage for being able to mix horror and comedy well.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Powerpuff Girls- Was pretty much one of my main childhood shows and has aged incredibly well
Dexter's Lab (Original run, not revamp)-Same reason as PPG
Ed, Edd, n Eddy- Is still funny, even though it's not aged as well as say, Simpsons (seasons 1-8) or Futurama.
Codename: Kids Next Door- Had some GREAT action in it.
I also liked Billy and Mandy and Courage the Cowardly Dog, haven't seen those shows in years, though.
I should also watch more of Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, Time Squad, and IM Weasel.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Codename: Kids Next Door master race here :3
On my wave, passing oooooooonI really don't remember much of Time Squad. All i recall is one instance where they went to Sweden, someone greeted Buck Tuddrussel with "Guten Morgen" (good morning), and he yelled "What'd you call me?" and shoved the man down a well
Johnny Bravo is my #1 favorite cartoon.
I didn't get CN until about 2000-01, so I barely saw most of them. I know mom hated Cow and Chicken and wouldn't let me watch it. The others I didn't really see often enough to form an opinion. Sister liked Courage but I never cared for it. Ed Edd n Eddy made me sick because of the squigglevision.
And I gave up on cartoons before C:KND and Billy & Mandy were a thing.
That makes two of us.
Johnny Bravo would probably be higher on my list were it not for its rather mediocre final season. But with the clever first season, or the laugh-out-loud hilarious Gary Hartle episodes, I enjoy the show immensely.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I thought the last season of Johnny Bravo was pretty good. It did a good job of bringing the show back to its more subtle roots (with maybe one or two exceptions). Plus, an episode guest starring Don Knotts, The Blue Falcon, and Weird Al Yankovic (who can do ANYTHIIIIiiiiiiing...). What more do you want?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.I honestly don't remember any of the "celebrity cameo" Johnny Bravo episodes, just the more general ones.
I think that was the last episode of the show, or close to it, if I remember right.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. There were a few funny episodes, but they kept bringing back things that were funny in the first season... Without the writing of Butch Hartman, Steve Marmel, or Seth Mac Farlane.
That, plus they downgraded Carl to a Chew Toy and took Pops out of the picture.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Eh, YMMV. I didn't think the other writers were that bad, and while Pops and Carl were decent characters, I don't think their presence or absence really added or detracted too much.
The only episode that I can think of in that season that I legitimately didn't like was the one where Johnny was transformed into a woman. That might be one of the absolute worst attempts at making a feminist message in a cartoon I've ever seen. You went from "you shouldn't objectify women, how would you like it if you were constantly sexually harassed?" (good!) to "every man is a pig and also women girls are always way more intelligent than them" (...whaaat?) in a matter of seconds.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Yeah... That one was pretty bad. It was apparently written by a woman, though!...
I have yet to find out why the show was retooled. A successful show doesn't get retooled for no reason, after all...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."
I do wonder also why they retooled Johnny Bravo afterwards. I didn't like how they drew Susie in the later seasons since she didn't look that cute like she did early on. Also, another show that went through a retool that I didn't like was Dexter's Laboratory, especially since the original creator wasn't involved in the later episodes.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Actually, from what I've heard, Genndy Tartakovsky sat in on storyboard meetings and gave advice on the episodes for at least the third season.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."For some reason, Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, and Powerpuff Girls went through a redesign in the 2000s.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!
Oh yeah! I almost forgot about the Powerpuff Girls going through a redesign!
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Although I like the resdesign of PPG more than the original. Though I prefer the season 1-4 episodes.
The only Cartoon Cartoons from the 90s that did not get a redesign were Ed Edd n Eddy and Courage (Though those 2 weren't made at Hanna-Barbera like Dexter's Lab, Johnny Bravo, and PPG were)
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Cow And Chicken and I Am Weasel weren't redesigned but were made at Hanna Barbera.
Mike Lu And Og wasn't made at H-B... But then again, it didn't last long enough to be redesigned.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Those two didn't really survive long enough to get a redesign. I M Weasel I believe ended in 2000, with Cow and Chicken having ending in 1999.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!It would be pretty interesting to have a Cartoon Cartoon show where all the Cartoon Cartoons come together in a sitcom setting, just like the City Age bumpers, except that it's an ongoing series instead of just bumpers.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Didn't they redesign The Flintstones too?
What Cartoon Cartoons shows did you enjoyed on Cartoon Network? My favorites were Dexters Laboratory, The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo and CODENAME Kids Next Door.
