I've only seen the first one. It's just kinda eh and it's mostly saved by Diesel and Walker having some fairly good chemistry. But good god the film just screams early-2000's. I cringed a little when they started playing a Limp Bizkit song.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?Just ignore any of them from before The Rock shows up.
My various fanfics.I do plan to watch the ones starting from 4 and up one day.
Not to mention Fate of the Furious.
"You're gonna turn your back on family?!"
YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING CRIMINALS!
Who are you responding too?
Sorry, why can't a group of criminals not be a family-like unit? Not to defend a shitty film series, I just don't see why they can't think of themselves as family.
I love those movies.
Oh yeah, they are dumb. Like, objectively stupid. But damn if they are not entertaining and hilarious. Like, for me it's like watching the old Police Academy movies. I rarely laugh this much and have this good a time.
YOU GUYS ARE FUCKING CRIMINALS!
Seriously, that's what's silly in this to you? Not the violations of logic or common sense? I mean, like said... That is such a weirdly arbitrary thing to be hung up about in a movie where a submarine breaking through ice can catch up to cars driving on said ice. Or a franchise where a sports car hitting a bus makes the bus flip but doesn't damage the car. Or where a car thief goes on to become the worlds most deadly commando? "The characters are criminals and like each other" is where you draw a line? o_O
They also barely are criminals anymore. Like the last time they actually did crime things was like three movies ago?

They're car-themed Avengers by this point.
My various fanfics.Basically yes. Or I guess Car-themed Mission Impossible?
I am still waiting Cars in space. Like, it's going there eventually. Mark my words.

Honestly, by 8th movie this whole family thing got really contradictory and borderline hypocritical.
Firstly, I'm pretty sure among god knows how many people they killed or ruined lives, there must have been plenty of people who had families and even doing what they do for their families.
Secondly, let's assume that they don't care about any of that. Fine. Can they at least remember that Shaw actually murdered Han, THEIR family member? They had an important funeral scene over it and all.

That part actually had us laughing in the theater. "Well Han, sucks to be you."
Even I can't excuse Dekard joining them at the ending there. Guess they really wanted Jason to stay in the franchise.
To be fair, the scenes between Jason Statham and The Rock are by far the highlight of the movie (And Jason Statham and the baby), so I can't exactly begrudge them for wanting him to stay. He's fun.
And really, that's what it boils down to. If you can turn your brain off and ignore... most things except the action and the acting, it's a really fun franchise. The stunts are fun, the actors are mostly charismatic, and it's technically well-done. But if you're naturally a nit-picker, or someone who can't let blatant plot holes or a lack of coherency (or reality) go under the excuse "it's supposed to be fun" (Kong Skull Island is another shining example of this, as are the more recent seasons of Game Of Thrones) then you're going to have a bad time.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Yeah, these are live action cartoons for all that's worth. I like them for that aspect.
And heck, I'll even give them some credit. They have a really diverse cast. So ya know. Kuddoes.
Meh on that. What goodwill they garner from their relatively diverse cast kinda gets shut down by Han getting Stuffed in the Fridge and then people turning around and going "oh well. Doesn't count. Now join our family, guy who killed Han."
That is... genuinely troubling.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Not as genuinely troubling as valuing fictional characters derespecting a fictional character's fictional death over RL representations of RL minorities IMHO.
Oh, this movie.
The first movie in which I got so frustrated with the characters' stupidity that I started to actively wish for their death because fuck it they don't deserve to live.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Sounds like a disappointing sequel to a disappointing movie. I don't think I've ever run into a combination like that before.
Well, the aliens only really have an advantage if the humans are complete fools, so I guess you have to play out the formula.

There are a few tropers here whose opinions I trust that like these films enough to get excited over them, and I liked the first 2 myself. I never saw the others after 3 due to a lack of time to get to any of them. Basically I know people like you and Jeremy have legit problems with these films, but I wouldn't call any of them bad except for Tokyo Drift.
