I created this topic because I have already discovered the Candy Crush page on here and wanted to talk about the game.

Right now, I'm on level 98 and I'll be more blunt...I hate those bombs!

I gave up on that game. It gets far too difficulty after a certain point and starts becoming more and more about random luck than actual skill. In fact I think another Troper mentioned getting close to level 400, at which point the 6x6 cakes start to appear and the only way to win would be to literally start the match with a combo and continue making them, or else you won't be able to clear the cake pieces on the board in time to actually get the ingredients to the bottom of the screen. I think the farthest I ever made it was around level 180.

[up] I just beat level 100 this morning. Yeah, I've heard about how difficult those levels are. Me, I'll keep playing the fans until I can't play it any more.

Used to play it, but I stopped because I don't like their business model.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

Ditto. I absolutely detest their business practices and urge people i know never to play it.

Tried it for a few minutes. Didn't really hook me.

Not familiar with these practices. Someone mind explaining?

That was me who was at level 400. Now 500 since I've done every available level so far. Can discuss in more detail later.

They essentially facelifted their game from an indie developer, and tried to trade mark the word Saga, I think. I'll link an article later, but yeah, not playing this game or any other game that takes after it.

I just think that the very concept isn't interesting. Their shady business practices are just a bonus negative, especially as a supporter of the Banner Saga which King has been rather rough with lately. If I wanted to play a casual game, I'd play a Pop Cap game.

I thought I was good to get to level 37!

I also gave up around the 400 mark, when the cakes make it completely luck-based whether you proceed or not, with something like a 1-in-100 chance if you don't buy retries. I enjoyed it because it has more gameplay depth than Bejeweled Blitz, which I also play, but its grubby hand reaching for your pocket is exceedingly off-putting.

Farthest I've ever made it was around level 170. I gave up after those indestructible chocolate mixers started appearing, they made the game far too irritating to tolerate at that point.

It gets significantly worse than the chocolate mixers or even the cakes - the random Tornados are the absolute worst since setting up is literally impossible with 6 chances every 2 turns for any given candy to be destroyed.

I've broken my addiction for the second time, not sure I'll be returning this time. I ended up about level 650 or something. Dream Mode - far less, that is luck-based insanity from about level 5 onwards. Lord knows how the later ones are possible.

It's not that bad... at least in the beginning. Managed to get past level 30, but it gets to the point that Odus, the Owl, will fall over only after 3 consecutive colors... Which means that combos are borderline impossible to pull off without insta-failing.
